We picked this up for our newborn of which he will be here in a week or so. We've played around with it a little bit and the part I didn't know about this is that it is heartbeat sensitive. When I bought it, I thought it was just movement sensitive. So if you were to lay something heavy on top of it and it doesn't sense the heartbeat the alarm will sound. Right now, it seems to work fairly well while we played around with it. I'm curious as to how well the pad will work with the baby in the crib though. I do like the feature of being able to talk through the monitor, either to the baby or to my wife if she is in the other room and needs help. Another drawback is that you HAVE to have the movement pad plugged it. If its not plugged in, the alarms will sound in 10 seconds. I haven't found a way to disable this yet, need to research more I guess.
The Angelcare video, movement, and sound monitor was a bad descision to purchase. We were very excited at first because are 12 month old likes to climb and try to get down the bed by herself. We we opened the product and tried it out, it didn't work. Plus, there's a beeping sound all the time, you will know if there's something wrong if it goes quiet, but i think the beeping sound is annoying. The pad the goes under is hard and didn't even work. We had my baby roll over it and it didn't work. I am very disappointed.
