Cleans well and looks nice

Despite some poor reviews we decided to select this dishwasher because overall there were more positive than negative reviews, the base price was reasonable for a Bosch, free install & delivery was offered and we had had a Bosch previously that was quiet and cleaned well for 12 years. We have now had it for over a month and are very pleased. It is quiet (we have large open floor plan so this was critical for us), easy to operate and cleans well. Some have complained the bottom rack falls off its track which is true, but simply pull it out completely by the handle provided and don't allow it drop. It takes a little practice to load, but not a problem once you figure out the best way. We are actually happier with it than the previous (and more expensive) Bosch which was cranky to load and we had to angle clumsily our large plates. Not with this one. I guess if you have heavy thick plates and bowls it is not for you. We like the auto setting - a sensor decides how dirty and how full thus how long to wash...what could be better than that? We have not had any problem with not drying completely, maybe those complaining about this were in a hurry? Overall for the price this dishwasher is very good and is exceeding our expectations.

Disappointing

Shortly after using this product for a year, the machine began throwing off error codes. E:24, E:01, E:25. The product was out of warranty and Bosch balked at any sort of help becasue my long-time appliance repairman was not authorized. They wanted to send their own man who charged $99 for the first ....get this......18 minutes......with more charges the more time he spent. All to diagnose. Very disappointed with Sears and Bosch.

Good as modern dishwashers go...

|

Gets most dishes mostly clean by using sensors, washing a long time, and by heating the water to a higher temperature. I compare to my 35+ year old KitechenAid by Hobart in my other home still running strong. The old washer uses brute force from a much larger motor which supposedly consumes more energy while running, but runs much shorter time. Both are really effective in their own way. The Bosch does well on most dishes, but not all. The racks can be frustrating to get used to, but you do get used to them. None of the materials are made to the standards of the old-style dishwashers, but then again, I don't think that's expected. I don't see materials that are likely to rust, either. I would rate this dishwasher "fairly good" for washing. And it has not presented any problems in 3 years of use, either.
It's best features are how clean it gets most dishes, interior size, especially the bottom rack, and that the controls on the front aren't accidentally changed by bumping them in use like new KitchenAids.
My least favorite feature is that there is no vented and fan-forced drying, like old KitchenAids. It just sits there with really hot sanitzed dishes. So you have to be there after sometime after the cycle ends and open the door to vent the steam. If you leave the house and don't open it up for days, the humidity sits there on the dishes, a minor issue, but why didn't they vent it better?

Very quiet and dries well

|

I purchased this dishwasher one month ago, and am totally happy with it. My previous dishwasher was a 3 year old Whirlpool that required a new motor after only 2 years and recently broke down again needing a new circuit board and heating element. So far that lemon cost me $400 in repairs and potentially another $370 for the 2nd repair. Not to mention that the Whirlpool NEVER dried the dishes; always had to hand-dry with a towel. This new Bosch dishwasher does a great job cleaning and everything comes out bone-dry. I also like the cutlery basket that keeps the silverware well separated. And this dishwasher is VERY quiet. I will never touch a Whirlpool appliance again. Ask any dishwasher repair person and they will tell you that the Bosch has the best reliability record. By the way, the Bosch dishwashers are made in this country!

WOW - it's quiet!!

|

Works quietly. This replaced a 12 year old Bosch and I believe I will get the same from this one. excellent value compared to many others. Only complaint is the "Delay" button is where I would expect the Start button to be so I accidentally put it into delay mode all the time. Otherwise, great product.
