FANTASTIC FOR CITY APT DWELLERS

We live in an apt in NYC with no vents & got the stackable Axxis washer and condensation dryer. They're great! Be sure to get the 3.4 cu feet 240 volt washer and not the lower voltage one -- it has more bells and whistles and wrings at a faster RPM, which helps drying time - worth the extra price.. The dryer throws off heat when in use; I put a portable Vornado fan in my kitchen to aim at it & that helps. It does take 2 hrs to dry but you get used to that. The washer holds a fine supply of clothes. If you're a city dweller, these models are the way to go. [They are also much cheaper and easier to use than the Miele, which is your other alternative.] The washer uses HE detergent only; it's easily found at grocery stores now (and esp Fairway in nyc). If you order the units from Sears, be sure to get the maintenance package AND have Sears people install it, or else your maintenance pkg is invalid. That's important! We've had ours for months now and they're fabulous fabulous fabulous. LOVE! When you take your clothes out of the dryer, let them sit for 5 - 10 minutes to finish drying -- the last 3% of dampness evaporates into the air and leaves them crisp. Also, don't overdry to avoid excessive wrinkles. And don't interrupt drying cycle -- if you do, it will take forever for your clothes to dry. Finally, be sure to wipe down the inside of the gasket right at the washer's door after every use to keep it dry and avoid moldy mildew build up in it. They're fine machines, and they deserve TLC [especially after what you pay for them!] -- :-) Our units work like a charm -- we're crazy about them!

5 Uses and it quit

5 uses and the darn thing quit. There is apparently a problem with the condensation discharge mechanism.

Bosch Condensor Dryer is OK

I purchased the Bosch because my LG's circuit board fried 2x in 6 months, and the previous condo-owners who had bought the thing did not purchase a service plan. I got tired of paying a repair guy almost $200 a pop, so I went looking for something new. This dryer seemed to get good reviews, and Bosch has been making ventless dryers longer than just about anyone else. My first two issues are more with Sears, but are good things to know about the dryer. 1) You don't need to buy the power cord that Sears pushes on you. It comes with a factory installed cord that the delivery guys won't change even if you ask them to. They also won't take the extra cord back with them...you have to return it at the store (mine is still sitting on my desk). 2) The Bosch comes with a 4-prong 220V cord, which Sears also fails to tell you (I actually called and placed the order by phone, specifically to ask about the cord). So, be prepared to call an electrician if you don't already have a 4-prong outlet. Now for the dryer's performance. I'm not thrilled with the sensor on this dryer. The clothes always feel damp after the cycle. If you try to put them on again, it stops after a minute and says it's done again. This "damp" feature actual seems to work out nice for dress shirts, but not so nice for jeans and t-shirts. This is not just a setting thing either, I've tried drying clothes on different settings to see if they will come out completely dry. Most of the time, running the clothes on the "Touch-Up" cycle after the regular cycle will get them dry enough, but it's annoying nonetheless that they don't get dry with one regular cycle. The other super annoying thing about this dryer is that it does not have a buzzer/beep to indicate when the cycle is done. Didn't even think to look to make sure it had this feature, never had a dryer that didn't? I do like the fact that the dryer will keep spinning periodically after the cycle to help keep wrinkles out (particularly since there is no buzz when the cycle is done). I absolutely love the stacking kit with the pull out folding shelf - super convenient. Overall, I'd say it is an ok dryer; but (circuit board frying aside), it does not perform as well as my old LG from a drying stand point. I'll live with it though, and hope it's circuit board stays in tact!

Perfect for a small space.

This is the greatest invention! I live in a small mid-century modern where space is a premium. I've always had regular dryers up until now, and this dries just as effectively.

Great dryer for condo/apartment w/o access to exhaust ducts

If you're a condo owner/renter and have always wanted a dryer without having to hook it up to an exhaust duct, than this ventless dryer is the perfect unit for you.

This space saving (24") condensation dryer does not require any exhaust ducts what so ever. During operation, the moisture seperated from the heated air flow and gets sent down the drain (same one where your washer discharges to), very similar process to an AC unit, hence the name "condensation dryer".

The drying time may take a tad longer than the conventional gas and ducted dryers, but it's well worth the wait for such an economical size unit. The unit operates very quietly and handles all types of loads from heavy/normal to delicates/sensitive fabrics; essentially every load feature is handled with care.

Dryer unit is fully electric and requires a 220-volt receptacle, but again it avoids the trouble of installing a gas line and will save you money on utility bills.

Last, but not least the brand "Bosch" speaks for itself. Every Bosch appliance and/or tool I own has always been the best and never failed me!

I give this Bosch Condensation Dryer two thumps up!

Awesome for small spaces and no where to vent!

My husband and I bought this dryer, along with the Bosch 3.4 cu ft stackable front-loading washing machine, because we needed something for a tight space and didn't have the option to vent the dryer outside. We thought about putting a dryer in the basement and venting the duct out the window, but our basement is unfinished and has a dirt crawl space and often feels humid. The ventless dryer was our best option. We were a little weary at first because of the mixed reviews found online, but we've had the washer and dryer for two weeks now and couldn't be happier. The dryer does have a vent in the front that blows out air; this, along w/ how hot the dryer gets to the touch, can make the room feel hot, but it's not unbearable. When first selecting the drying option, it may seem like the dryer will be on all day (some options say that it will take two hours to dry your clothes), but the dryer has sensors in the drum that adjust the drying time depending on the wetness of the clothes. I've dried towels, jeans, baby clothes, etc. and haven't had to wait two hours for the dryer to be done. I agree with the other reviewer that the clothes do need to sit for a few minutes outside of the dryer when they're first done. I haven't wiped down the whole dryer and condensation gasket yet, but plan on doing it every few week to keep the dryer in mint condition.

It's important to note that the Bosch washer plugs into the dryer, and the dryer plugs into the wall. Also, this kind of dryer has a hose that attaches to the back of the it to drain the collected water from the clothes. Make sure this is installed!! The installation guys forgot to do this and we had water running out the back of the dryer - it was a mess, but easily fixable.
