I picked this up on sale. It works awesome and is plenty big. It heats up fast. I'm just not a huge fan of the material. It's soft, but leaves fuzz all over your clothes. Pretty annoying, but bang for your buck this was a good deal.
Do not buy this blanket. It doesn't work correctly---it doesn't stay heated for the 10 hours it says in its instructions. Also the other disappointed reviewer is correct, you must hold the base unit in one hand while turning the dial with the other---it is very hard to do in the middle of the night when you're readjusting the heat.
This blanket is being returned to Sears today after 3 miserable days of awakening at 4:30AM when the blanket stops heating. I have always used electric blankets and the last one I had was a Sunbeam which lasted 17 years, so I'm well versed in how to use them and their automatic timers which shut the blanket off after 10 hours.
I have tried a "work around" with this blanket's timer, by pre-heating my bed, getting into it and turning the blanket on and off again to restart the timer for the night. That didn't work three consecutive nights.
So the blanket is being returned. It is a Cannon which is made by Biddeford. Do not buy one, you will be sorry. I am.
My husband bought this blanket last December. We've been enjoying it ever since. It heats up quickly and stays plenty warm enough for us to sleep through the night. If anything, I sometimes wake up because I'm too hot! This blanket definitely does what it is supposed to do, keep you WARM!
Absolutely love this blanket!!! My husband and I love the duel heat controls...he can have his side of the bed cooler than my side. Blanket is lightweight and soft for snuggling. Makes sleeping in an old house much more bearable.
