I bought two units separated by a few weeks. Both were easy pick-ups from the store though personnel to staff the pick-up desk is hard to find. Both were in perfect shape out of the box. The finish is attractive, and they fit my projected needs.
The first had a production flaw: the center panel was about 1/4" too long. I was able to adjust the hardware to get it together, but the poor fit affected the integrity somewhat. The unit tilted slightly to one side so that the door handles were visibly misaligned. When I moved it to another location, the pushing reduced the tilt so the handles are better aligned though not 100%.
I was willing to get a matching unit. The second had a center panel that fit perfectly, producing a much stronger structure. Well worth the money.
This looks far more expensive that it is! Great
Poorly packaged, the wood is scratch up and dented plus they included elmers glue, poorly contructed and the book case wobbles. I returned this bookcase. Don't waste your money on this made in china book case.
Great bookcase and very sturdy! It's lasted us over two years and still looks great
I purchased this bookcase at K-mart. I was looking to increase space in my bedroom and add a flat screen t.v. It is surprizingly very nice for the price, It did have to be put together which my husband did and took him about 30 minutes.I must add that K-mart is my least favorite place to shop as there are always issues the one I purchased was damaged and had to travel 30 min to purchase at another k-Mart.
I bought 3 of these when we moved in to our house to match the other dark furniture. They look like nice peices from a distance and they hold a decent quantity of books. The price was outstanding as I got them on sale for $109 each, marked down from $259 each (the price here in Guam). The legs have just enough thread adjustment to level the book cases out and straighten out the alignment of the doors to compensate for the slight different in height of the side walls. The back is pressborad but kept from rattling by mid placed fasteneing screws and plastic wedges on the edges. While I would not buy something like this for my own home, they are fine a s temporary furniture for a couple years in the rental house.
People, people, wake up. This is a made in china, u put it together piece of furniture. Some of these reviewers must be too young to have known decent "real" furniture. One said it was heavy. Are you kidding me? A real hand made piece like this made of real wood would be so much heavier! I agree this piece can look nice if not damaged in shipping and all the pieces fit well but c'mon, it's made in china with a fake cardboard back, doesn't that tell you something? Cardboard is not an ingredient in good furniture! That said, it looks more expensive than it is and if treated VERY carefully and not overloaded, it might last a while but you won't be passing this down to the grand kids!
was very pretty but must say kind of heavy but i guess with furniture that is expected
First off, ours was not two shelves as described, but four shelves being as it had a center vertical divider, which is necessary, due to the partleboard core shelves being way too thin not to sag rather quickly over the life of the unit.
The back was also some sort of extremely thin synthetic material, with low-pressure vinyl woodgrain printed over it, and was in two pieces.
Also, the very top of our unit was badly scarred during shipping, due to a metal insert not being properly sunk to below the surface level in a board which was packed next to it, which consequently cut through the interleaved packing material which was obviously inadequately thick.
The bun feet weren't well sanded before it was finished, and the clear-coating was not adequately applied to seal the rough open wood grain, which also had a few open cracks where knot-holes appeared.
Also one of our doors wasn't flat due to poor wood joinery. In fact, some of the panels had factory joints which had rather large unsightly gaps, which due to being previously permanently glued at the factory, could not be corrected in final assembly.

This bookcase is beautiful for the price. the dark cherry wood is beautiful. I even have a 42" plasma TV on top of it.
We loved this in the store but love it even more after we got it put together! It's perfect for our office! Everything we've gotten from Country Living has been nice to put together. The hardware is so organized. It took a couple of hours but we took our time so it would be done right.
I love the craftsman type grid on the doors and the bun feet.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit for our space.
