So, I was really reluctant to purchase this set. I have most all of the contents, but they are spread across multiple sets. I decided to pick it up and I am definitely glad that I did. This is a very nice set, which pretty much obsoletes my others. This will definitely be my go-to set. On both the front and the back of the case are "extra" compartments. They are nearly the size of the face, which is really nice extra storage. My ONLY complaint about this set is that all 100 pieces do NOT fit within the case. Only 95 pieces fit. The other 5 come in a tiny plastic zip bag and is stored in one of the face compartments. The little Allen wrench is considered part of the 100-pieces, which is fine. But, I think with a little bit more planning, all 100-pieces could have fit (e.g. the Allen wrench takes up a lot of space, relatively). The other item to note is that this set is NOT covered by the Craftsman Lifetime Hand Tool Warranty. I knew this was the case before buying, but I just wanted to highlight it for others. Even though I think the set is fantastic and will use it exclusively, I give it 4 out of 5 stars for the simple fact that only 95 pieces fit in the case. It really deserves 5 out of 5 stars.
I just bought this item and took the time to compare the contents to a variety of other Craftsman products, both in my possession and online. An accurate comparison is not possible prior to purchase using the product description and photos provided on the website and packaging. I've concluded that this set, and I suspect some of the other drill/drive bit bundles currently available in Nov/Dec, are products produced to sell very cheaply to hasty and uninformed holiday shoppers. To provide some examples, the spade bits are totally flat in cross-section, unlike those sold in standard sets which have three-dimensional projections at the shoulders to effectively dig out the wood being drilled. The nut drivers are not designed for the Speed Lok system, unlike the standard products, and more likely to disengage and scatter with use. The 2-inch bits are less chamfered than those you would by from Sears individually or in other sets and thus more prone to damage. The masonry bits are certainly not those sold in bit set specifically designated for such bits, both in design and, I believe, material. Finally, the packaging is sloppy and the "storage" compartments on the front and back (not visible in the pictures offered by Sears) are simply undivided, flat plastic hinged doors which will not offer any kind of organization or structure to what is being carried. Indeed, five of the nut driver bits sold in the set are already in a small plastic bag in one of the storage containers because there are no places for them in the inside of the box. Far better to buy the constituent elements individually over time and, if possible, on sale. Made in the USA or overseas, many Craftsman products still serve well, but this set is a cheap holiday gimmick.
A complete set for everyday household use. It is Craftsman tough and completely organized. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I have most of these bits, etc. Some are just wearing out though and this was the perfect opportunity! It is a midgrade set but perfect for the novice homeowner. A very good set for the price! Once again Craftsman comes through!
This kit contains all the items you need to have. All great Craftman quality...
my husband loved this set to keep in his garage. He works construction as well as works on cars, lol basically anything that needs to be fixed, her fixes so this tool set was a really good price and okay quality
All these bits in one convenient case. Easy to carry and use.
I'm an old timer. I can remember when you could get a good inexpensive set of drill bits and they would last quite a while. Over the years things have changed drastically. The new bits are **** (I'm being kind here) They dull immediately even in soft metals, they snap off and some of them even bend while you're drilling. Even some of the drill sets with brand names are absolute garbage. There is an exception, Craftsman. Their bits are just as good as they ever were. This particular set is a great value. It has most of what you'll ever use, they'll hold up and the price won't break the bank.
I did not know anything about tool, but when the salesman recommended this as a gift for hubby, he definitely hit one out of the park. Needless to say hubby was very excited, and the price was great for my pocket.
has what I need
For the price this is a great value. Set comes with many bits and is organized nicely. Also, crafstman is a very reliable brand. This is a present for my husband and I know he will love it.
Great addition to recently purchased drill set!
Nice, good quality, beats even similar ************** items for price and value!
Although I have a number of these bits, it was a deal I couldn't refuse. Besides you can't go wrong with Craftsman.
My husband said that this is just what he wanted. He has probably just about every kind of Craftsman tool there is but he didn't have this. The case to keep everything is a super plus!
Has everything that I need in one box.
This is a great value considering the number of tools you get for the money.
This goes so well with the craftsman drill that we also purchased from Sears! This was a great first purchase for my son! He continues to get lots of use from it and the price was great!
