You can't beat a wonderful Craftsman multi-tool kit.

Decent Taps and dies. Terrible carry case. NOT AS PICTURED!

I'm a 15 year ASE certified mechanic and have seen Craftsman's quality drop through the years. The taps are of average quality for a Chinese product. In that I haven't broken one yet (3weeks since purchase, 20-30 uses). The tap handles are made of poor quality pig iron, flimsy feel very cheap in hand and have many casting flaws. But they do work. I recommend purchasing new ones if you plan to use these taps and on a frequent basis. If your looking for a one stop purchase for the most popular metric and sae taps, and do not plan to use them in a shop than this is your item. Great for the average DIY home owner. 

The Pictured case is not at all what you get. What you will receive for your $269.99 is a flimsy blow formed plastic case. Which drops the small pieces out the bottom when you take it out of your tool box. DON'T LOSE THE FOAM SPACER.  My recommendation for the shop mechanic is spend the money on the same Chinese tools from another vender for 1/3 of the price. Then replace with quality taps as they break or dull. 

In closing, I do not recommend this product to anyone other than the average DIY homeowner. The whole set is made in China, the taps and dies are of average quality but do get the job done. The tap and die handles are of poor quality. The carry case is flimsy and does not hold the contents securely, and will not hold without the foam spacer. 

The Craftsman 107 pc Tap & Die Set is a good value

The case for this set is like a small old-fashioned suitcase.  It actually fit into one of the lower drawers in the lower part of my Craftsman Griplatch tool chest.  These sets are not the greatest quality available but they are a good value.  I was hoping to get one of the big HSS steel sets but they stopped selling them before I got around to purchasing my set.  Sometimes I enjoy making mechanical parts for stuff and these tools come in handy.

great set but no index.

This tap & die set is very comprehensive, and appears to be of high quality. My only dissappointment is that there is no index, and the part locations are not marked on the plastic case. so you have to guess which one you need by eyeballing the size. Like when all your combo wrenches are in a drawer unorganized, you hope you find the right size before you empty the drawer! An index is the only missing to give this 5 stars.

Great value for what you get.

I shopped around and found that I couldn't duplicate the selection AND quality this set offered in another set. Quality...yes Selection...yes But not together in one set. It is a great buy for someone looking to invest in a general set of taps and dies.
