Very lightweight for a high wheel mower

I had the same problem dsohio had. Brought mower home, set it up, mowed for about 15-20 minutes. Stopped to remove some fallen branches and tried to restart the mower. No luck. Walked around to the front and noticed gas streaming from the carburetor. It kept dripping until the tank was empty. Took it back and got another (same model). This time, the results were better. My previous Craftsman mower lasted 10 years. This mower is surprisingly light; it's almost like pushing a toy. My old Craftsman was MUCH heavier by comparison. Given the number of slopes and tree roots I mow around, that should be an advantage. It's also quieter than my old mower. Height adjustment is quick and easy and a tank of gas lasts longer. Easy to start and does a good job cutting. Except for the apparent quality control problem in manufacturing/assembly, this seems to be a reasonably good buy. Now I'll see if THIS one lasts 10 years.

No oil drain plug

If you like to maintenance your lawn equipment DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! After not being able to find the drain plug I had to resort to looking in the manual. The owners manual states that the oil must be dumped out of the fill tube. If you never plan on changing the oil then go ahead and buy this mower, it does cut nice.

Great little mower

|

Our old mower bit the dust so we needed something right away that was affordable. This mower has been fantastic. We live in the country with about an acre of land and this mower does the trick. Our 11 yr old loves uses it. Easy to start and push. Wonderful mower!!!

Lasted Less Than A Year

|

The bad reviews are true, this is a one year or less mower. It worked great all three times I used it. Stored it for winter and tried it the following summer and it would not start. I called the sears warranty dept, and they tell me to return it to the local sears location. I called the local sears location and they chastise me for not buying the sears warranty and tell me it is $99.00 to drop it off and have it repaired, even though it is still under warranty. I ended up buying another mower, no sense paying more for something that failed so easily.

great engine

|

I bought this mower on sale. The price was the same as the cheap mowers at the dollar stores but this one had the gold engine. I was a little worried about the no choke no prime start feature but got it home, put in oil and gas and it started on the very first pull and has never needed more than one pull since. I'm impressed. Super easy to change cutting height.

Great mower

|

Bought this mower for my husband as a gift. His previous mower was a 22" but could not get that size so had to get this size. He likes it and it gets the job done. He wanted a mulching mower, not a bag mower. The larger back wheels make pushing the mower much easier. Adjusting the height is easy. He has no complaints about this mower. I highly recommend this product.

Very Good Basic Mulching Mower

|

My yard is flat but bumpy so I needed a high wheel mulcher but didn't need something that is self-propelled. This mower fits the bill perfectly with enough h.p. to do a great job of mowing. The description said some assembly is required but I was very pleasantly surprised to find out just how little was needed...the only "assembly" was to slide out the handle, hand screw it into place, adjust the handle to the angle & height I wanted, attach the pull cord to the handle and pour in the oil that came with the mower. Took less than 5 minutes. Runs like a top.

Great Buy

|

Have used the mower for two weeks and think it is great. Very little to do to get it ready to mow just take it out of the box, unfold and tighten the handle then position the pull starter rope. Out in fuel and oil and you are ready to go. Took ten minutes. Engine is the little Briggs & Stratton overhead valve 140cc and has as much power as the 6.25 hp I replaced.

Great Mower

|

I bought this mower for my son-in-law as he does not like self propelled mowers. The day it came in, he took it home and mowed his yard. He absolutely loves it.

Good mower

|

Easy to setup, no complicated assembly required. The Gold series Briggs & Stratton engine starts very easily. The no prime feature on the engine is very convenient and works well. I would recommend this mower to a friend.

Love it!

|

I was looking for an affordable mower that was easy for me to use. The sales associate I spoke with was very helpful, and the mower I purchased works great. It's easy to start, stays running through thick spots, and is easy to maneuver in my hilly backyard. I also purchased a weed whacker and a 3 year warranty on the mower with spending more than I had planned thanks to surprise rewards points. I'm very happy with my purchase and my experience at Sears.

Easy to use;easy to start

|

I was pleased that it was ready to use right out of the box; just an adjustment of the handle. I have never owned a mower that started as easily as this one; I hope that special feature and convenience continues through the life of the machine. The large rear wheels makes it easier to tilt the mower back to make the turns at the corners of the yard. The Briggs & Stratton engine has been my favorite since my first experience with a power in my early teens 60 years ago.
