Tough and strong drill-driver

Pros: I really like this little drill/driver. I use it almost every week for anything from tightening screws to heavy duty drilling 1" holes. Compared to my old Black and Decker, this is like night and day. The batteries last really long and it is much stronger than my 19 V driver (from a cheaper manufacturer). The light that comes on during operation is a nice touch which I now can't live without. I have 3 batteries at this point, but honestly only need one, because the charger is fast and the battery last long. The driver feels good in the hand and is nicely balanced and small. Cons: When pushing hard on the unit (for example to tighten a difficult screw), it is easy to push the gear selector from low to high during operation by accident, which I would guess could harm the gears. The quick-chuck is not working as well anymore after 2 years of usage. Sometimes have to turn almost a full turn until is holds against me and allows me to tighten the chuck.

great for literally a minute

I charged the battery and drilled one 1/8" hole in a 2x4 and the drill just stopped. The led light was blinking but the drill would do nothing. I shook it and it started working again...until I tilted it to drill another hole. I managed to get 10 holes drilled and screwed in 10 screws. I put the battery back on the charger to top it off and the light on the charger was solid green meaning that the battery was fully charged. I can't exchange it because I got the last one the store had. Too bad. I was really excited to find this drill for $50.

Drill Heaven

|

Drill is very easy to handle, well designed, and light weight. Drill has all the power needed for those simple around the home jobs, and battery seems to hold up well during those projects without need of a recharge. The Lithium-Ion battery is a plus, just leave it on the charger, and it's always ready to go, it will never over-charge, but stay fully charged.

Drill/Driver

|

I bought this for my husband he has MS and has limited use of his hands and this drill/driver is so light weight that he can now do things he enjoyed doing like now can put his buffing pad on it and polish and wax his corvette. And do small jobs around the house that he couldn't do before.

Average drill for an average person

|

This drill is terribly average. I've used it a few times to back up and screw in screws, and once to drill a hole. It has not yet broken and it seems to hold a charge well. I was a little disappointed (both in myself and in the product) that the drill came with 0 drill bits. I wonder whether it's even a drill at that point, but I guess that's more of a philosophical question.

Nice drill while it lasted

|

It's a handy tool when it's functioning. Feels good in the hand, lightweight, & has decent power. I've had it about a year. It never sees hard use, just lightweight around the house use. The problem is that it started to smoke the other day, a very light scent. The following day smoke started pouring out of it, then it stopped functioning. The day after that it was functioning again because it had cooled off. The troublesome thing is that I was driving small machine screws at the first clutch setting, & only for a couple of minutes total, so there wasn't any kind of strain going on. Over the 3 days it was in operation for between 3 & 4 minutes total. I doubt it's going to last much longer. Doing some research on the 'net, it seems that the electric motor burning out is a common issue. Now I'm torn between buying another one, or just spending twice as much to get another brand that will last.

Great for simple house work

|

Although very tough to be used on heavy duty house work I use it mainly for putting up shelves and fixing door knobs. I love house it's easy to use and you don't have to charge the drill, the battery is removable.

light weight drill

|

I purchased this item for my elderly father for Father's Day who needed a lighter weight cordless drill...it was light weight, the battery was easy to charge however he did have trouble connecting it to the drill, and he was disappointed that he didn't come with any bits or that the drill had no place to store them on it.
