Pros: I really like this little drill/driver. I use it almost every week for anything from tightening screws to heavy duty drilling 1" holes. Compared to my old Black and Decker, this is like night and day. The batteries last really long and it is much stronger than my 19 V driver (from a cheaper manufacturer). The light that comes on during operation is a nice touch which I now can't live without. I have 3 batteries at this point, but honestly only need one, because the charger is fast and the battery last long. The driver feels good in the hand and is nicely balanced and small. Cons: When pushing hard on the unit (for example to tighten a difficult screw), it is easy to push the gear selector from low to high during operation by accident, which I would guess could harm the gears. The quick-chuck is not working as well anymore after 2 years of usage. Sometimes have to turn almost a full turn until is holds against me and allows me to tighten the chuck.
It's a handy tool when it's functioning. Feels good in the hand, lightweight, & has decent power. I've had it about a year. It never sees hard use, just lightweight around the house use. The problem is that it started to smoke the other day, a very light scent. The following day smoke started pouring out of it, then it stopped functioning. The day after that it was functioning again because it had cooled off. The troublesome thing is that I was driving small machine screws at the first clutch setting, & only for a couple of minutes total, so there wasn't any kind of strain going on. Over the 3 days it was in operation for between 3 & 4 minutes total. I doubt it's going to last much longer. Doing some research on the 'net, it seems that the electric motor burning out is a common issue. Now I'm torn between buying another one, or just spending twice as much to get another brand that will last.
Plenty of power for all house home chores, lightweight good for continuous use. The battery seems to last a long time.
Drill has excellent power for its size. However, this is my fourth drill. I love the drill, but the speed control never seems to last much past warranty and sometime not even that. Since I keep buying it, you know I love the power, weight, feel...it would be 5 stars if it was a little more durable.
Size allows usage in confined locations, two-speed gearbox permits versatility that is not found in most of the larger, bulkier drill designs. Battery charges in 30 min.
bought this to replace a 18v B&D stupid drill. like that I can use my battery from the impact I bought several years ago, which makes it handy can use this to drill and impact to put screws in with out changing bits all the time
Cannot say how many times I bring out this drill. Battery last long enough to complete the work. Powerful enough to handle most jobs. I have had mine for 2 years now and still going strong. Charger charges fast.
I was pleasantly surprised!! This nextex drill/driver is small and easy to handle but is powerful enough to do the job. I bought it to use for installation of new light fixtures ad it's great!! I have used it for several other jobs and it continues to surprise me with it's power.
I have used this drill for over 5 years and it has performed flawlessly. It is a perfect size in your hand, and has plenty of power to drive screws or drill. You will not be disappointed in this drill as I have recommended it to many friends and they all agree.
I have used these craftsman drills for years. Needed another for a Spair. Would recommend them highly.
Works great. It's just the right size for tight spots and does a good job at most others
this is a great tool for around the shop
compact and good battery life
Lightweight drill/driver. Lithium-Ion battery delivers long use time. A light helps with low light areas. No chuck key is needed. Variable torque is used for big or small jobs,
This ISN'T a 19-24V drill so don't expect it to work like one. It's a very compact LIGHT 12V for average use. It's been great so far for automotive work and grinding/polishing. I DID buy the extended warranty as the clutch makes a lot of noise when you just drop the trigger. They all do it so it may be fine but 9 bucks for 2 additional years is cheap insurance. Yes, you can see the brush sparks..... as you can on my Milwaukee and many other drills. None of them is rated for enclosed explosive spaces.
The battery charges fast and discharges slowly. I was amazed at it's "staying power" for such a small battery. It's li-ion so it doesn't slow down before it dies it just dies which I like. When using it for polishing and grinding, I don't want the torque to start slowly dropping off.
I bought this Drill for Husband and He loves it. its a real good one
This is a great tool for the home carpenter/DIY person. Put in a new door with all the hardware worked great. Also put in a home made door frame with help from the Craftsman Nextec drill driver
Perfect size, not too big and comfortable grip! Good power too!
I bought this when it was on sale and I had some shop your way points, making it a great deal. Its rechargeable and so easy to use. I hope to get many many years of use from this tool
