This ISN'T a 19-24V drill so don't expect it to work like one. It's a very compact LIGHT 12V for average use. It's been great so far for automotive work and grinding/polishing. I DID buy the extended warranty as the clutch makes a lot of noise when you just drop the trigger. They all do it so it may be fine but 9 bucks for 2 additional years is cheap insurance. Yes, you can see the brush sparks..... as you can on my Milwaukee and many other drills. None of them is rated for enclosed explosive spaces. The battery charges fast and discharges slowly. I was amazed at it's "staying power" for such a small battery. It's li-ion so it doesn't slow down before it dies it just dies which I like. When using it for polishing and grinding, I don't want the torque to start slowly dropping off.
It's a handy tool when it's functioning. Feels good in the hand, lightweight, & has decent power. I've had it about a year. It never sees hard use, just lightweight around the house use. The problem is that it started to smoke the other day, a very light scent. The following day smoke started pouring out of it, then it stopped functioning. The day after that it was functioning again because it had cooled off. The troublesome thing is that I was driving small machine screws at the first clutch setting, & only for a couple of minutes total, so there wasn't any kind of strain going on. Over the 3 days it was in operation for between 3 & 4 minutes total. I doubt it's going to last much longer. Doing some research on the 'net, it seems that the electric motor burning out is a common issue. Now I'm torn between buying another one, or just spending twice as much to get another brand that will last.
This drill is a very nice size with a lot of power. It does the job very well. I like how ithe charges really fast, I paid the full price and it is well worth it.
This drill/driver is a great tool. I used it to install steel siding on my garage. The variable torque setting allowed me to drive and tighten the screws to the correct torque.
Very nice drill It's compact and very well balanced. Great for tight places where the big drill won't fit it has good power for it's size and the battery charges quickly
Hi this is the third Craftsman drill I have purchased over the years . I just purchased my first home recently. I use my drill almost daily. It is lightweight and easy to use. The battery life lasts and lasts allowing me to finishing multiple projects between recharging. The price is good and the quality is as well. I happened to purchase mine on sale which really is just a bonus since I love this drill. The battery is easy to take out and recharge. The bit is also easy to take out so we can put other Craftsman bit into. This makes the drill very versatile. When used with other drill bits the different tasks are easier than using a screwdriver or other hand tools. Thank you Craftsman for continuing to make quality affordable drills and other products for us to buy and use in our homes.
I have many cordless tools, but this is the one that I use the most. I love the Nextec line, for convenience and power. This drill has the power to do just about anything you need around the home.
this is a great drill and driver for times when the heavy stuff isnt necessary. Ive used this to fix a wooden gate, hang blinds and for smaller projects.
JUst great - no chuck key required.
I purchased this in order to have a more compact drill and it is perfect for small jobs and easy transport. Light weight and comfortable grip makes using it very nice.
