Tough and strong drill-driver

Pros: I really like this little drill/driver. I use it almost every week for anything from tightening screws to heavy duty drilling 1" holes. Compared to my old Black and Decker, this is like night and day. The batteries last really long and it is much stronger than my 19 V driver (from a cheaper manufacturer). The light that comes on during operation is a nice touch which I now can't live without. I have 3 batteries at this point, but honestly only need one, because the charger is fast and the battery last long. The driver feels good in the hand and is nicely balanced and small. Cons: When pushing hard on the unit (for example to tighten a difficult screw), it is easy to push the gear selector from low to high during operation by accident, which I would guess could harm the gears. The quick-chuck is not working as well anymore after 2 years of usage. Sometimes have to turn almost a full turn until is holds against me and allows me to tighten the chuck.

great for literally a minute

I charged the battery and drilled one 1/8" hole in a 2x4 and the drill just stopped. The led light was blinking but the drill would do nothing. I shook it and it started working again...until I tilted it to drill another hole. I managed to get 10 holes drilled and screwed in 10 screws. I put the battery back on the charger to top it off and the light on the charger was solid green meaning that the battery was fully charged. I can't exchange it because I got the last one the store had. Too bad. I was really excited to find this drill for $50.

Product works well

A decent value, and a good package at a fair price with battery/charger included

12 volt nextec drill

I purchased this drill in order to keep 2 drills for my jobs(mainly rental property work and fix-up of houses) one with the screwdriver tip the other with a drill bit. These drills are very good quality.my other I purchased this one because my other drill was probably taken by one of my workers. I have put in a 100 foot wood fence with the drills by rotating batteries between charging stations,I was able to always have a useable unit. I really like this drill as it is powerful and lightweight and the Li battery keeps a charge for several months..

Great small drill

Perfect for small household use. Not as heavy as a normal drill. As a woman I find it comfortable to hold and use versus the regular size.

Craftsman 17586 Nextec

I actually bought this for my father. Since he has had it he used it just about everyday. When I purchased this I thought it was bigger on the website, but it does just as well as a bigger one. It also is a perfect size. He liked it very much..

One of my better buys.

Light weight, but does the work of the bigger drills that I've owned. Have used it for many projects and it still keeps going. The batteries last for hours, but I use a spare battery so when it does fade, I just plug in a new one. Had no problems with the chuck or with the power to drill with large bits. Perhaps not as good with the larger circular hole bits, but handles a larger spade bit without flagging. Like most Craftsman products it just keeps on doing the work you expect from it.

nice drill

I bought the drill driver, the right angle impack driver and the impack drill driver, I hang a lot of kitchen cabnets and these little drills are light and can get into tight spots, and will pound a large screw right in with very little effort

Love my drill

This is the first battery power tool I have purchased. I also have a Craftsman weed eater. I love both of them.

craftsman nextec drill

this drill is an excellent drill. we already owned one of these for my husband and we bought another so I could have my own. It is lightweight but very tough and strong. My husband has several drills and uses this drill for almost everything!

Great little drill

Was looking for a drill that was smaller than my 20v, after checking out the yellow and blue brands, I couldn't find a reason not to get this nextec drill. I live the versatility with the batteries working on so many tools
