Easy start!

This mower starts easy, one pull and away you go, quiet compared to many mowers, I wore a B&G engine out after 10years and very dependable, one of the reasons I stayed with this mower. The rear bag is easy to take in and out, and the anti dust feature really works and the washable hose connect is easy to use and a plus. The adjustable height requires only one lever to move both wheels, front and back which is a great advantage over my old mower where each wheel had to be raised or lowered. Mower is easy to push but I don't have any hills to mow. Counting on this mower lasting 10 more years!

Fouls the spark plug in a few hours

The mower run great and has plenty of power for tall thick grass, but the spark plug fouls within three to five hours of total use, and will not start again. Change the plug and it works great again for three to five hours of total use. There needs to be a recall on this product, due to the large number of complaints on other sites about this model with the fouling issue. I am very disappointed with the poor quality that seems to be with Sears products now. I will never buy another lawn mower from sears again.

adjust how high

Bought 190cc great price. But ran into problem cutting the lawn. Set both wheels at same number, found height in front not same as in back, had to set front on 4 and 3 on back to get same height cutting. Plastic wheels whats the deal? I can not see that lasting very long. But do not get me wrong, I have had good results by buying at sears. Just wish craftsman would take a little bit more time in making what they make. I would like to think it will last a long time, and not be a throw away after just a few years of using it.

Nothing but problems

Not bad for power and engine performance, but the adjustable height system is GARBAGE!! I try to keep my grass cut kind of tall, but the mower body kept falling. Sometimes I couldn't even get the mower started before I had to pick it back up and readjust the height control.The spring-loaded starter went out after only two years, and the local Sears repair shop is only open 9am to 5pm M-F. I work those hours, too. Don't people need mowers serviced on the weekends?

Customer Service?

I never used this. It was damaged out of the box. This is where Sears customer service bombed. The lever to adjust the height of the deck was bent into the wheel, jamming it. I could have bent it into location, but this is my first brand new mower, and who wants bent parts that look nasty on their first new thing? So I called customer service and for some reason my phone number isn't linked to my order, but I have my order number. The first guy hung up on me. The second guy, JD, couldn't help me (even with an order number!) because I didn't have the phone number linked to the order, so he gave me a phone number to call. It was Chase Bank. I love Chase, but they can't help me with my mower. So I abandoned phone calls and tried chat. They said I had to remove the part, send it to them where they will inspect it and determine if it is bent (at my cost). If it is determined to be bent, they will send me a new part and I can put it on. So I'm returning it.

I read some of the negative reviews and I do know it does not like to start hot (maybe something to do with the auto choke) but I give it 15 minutes to cool off and so far 3 pulls is the max. Anyone looking for a solid affordable push mower this is my recommendation.

190cc* High Wheel Rear Bag Push Mower 50 States

The large 7.25HP motor really cuts through thick, tough St. Augustine grass without hesitation. This is a replacement for another Craftsman mover 6 years old with 4.25HP motor. Older mower struggled in Spring/Summer to cut the thick grass, this mower, no problems!! No five stars due to the large amount of plastic used vs. all metal in prior version. Time will tell if this holds up as well. Strange handle setup (triangle shaped vs. straight), but getting used to it. Softened it up using tennis wrap.

Terrible

Have had it for less than 10 months,used 6-8 times at most always use stabilizer,fresh fuel,changed oil,mower stored in basement during Winter. Mower has engine problem,talk to Sears mechanic,told me they have had nothing but problems with this model.Got no help from store

great lawn mower for the price

Pros:I bought this mower last year after reading lots of reviews. The engine worked awesome all summer it started first pull almost every time except the very first time I had to pull it a few times but I think that was because it needed to prime the system. At the end of summer I ran the mower until it ran out of gas and put it away for the winter. Today I filled up the tank and the mower started right up on the first pull I was impressed. The bag is kind of small which makes it very easy to empty I am a big guy so I would trade a bigger bag for less empties but very easy to empty and install. The undercarage cleaning system is pretty cool but I don't like that the nipple is plastic it seems it could be broken very easily. Cons: The wheels are plastic which makes me think I will eventually have them break on me but no issues so far. The handle bar is kind of skinny so its slightly uncomfortable for a big hand like mine. Over all a great mower.

Hard to Start out of Box. Now won't Start

I bought this at the end of last year and have only used it maybe 4 times. It was hard to start out of the box but it finally started and has been running great. Strong engine that cuts through tall grass. I went to start it yesterday and it wouldn't start. I pulled the spark plug and it was soaked in gas so I can assume that I am getting fuel. The plug looks okay, but I'll be buying a new plug this afternoon since you can never tell by just looking. Hopefully that will fix it. If that doesn't work I will be severely disappointed with this Craftsmen mower. My last Craftsmen lasted 8 years before I started having issues with it.

Broken

had lawnmower for a month worked well however have to replace the from wheel assembly cause the cheap plastic broke and axle kept falling out. also sears store had no idea what to do with it. they also told me i would have to ship it 2 hours away to get it fixed on my dime stay away from the cheap plastic mowers

Hard to start, runs rough, rpm's too low to mulch properly

Bought because of easy start claims and guarantees. All startup instructions followed meticulously including brand new gas, new gas can, gas stabilizer, etc. Right from the first time startup requires between eight and twelve pulls to catch and then runs rough enough to shake the machine.

Won't Start

I plan to return it tomorrow. Won't start. Started 1st time right out of the box, ran fine and mowed the lawn as it should. 2nd week, it started as before and then stopped never to start again. Afier 2 days of doing everything I could think of, I called and talked with a customer service rep at Briggs - Stratton who suggestion the problem might be a "stuck" thermocoupler (??). Talked with local B-S rep who told me to bring the mower in, wait to 2 weeks and deposit $35.00. That's it! Back to Sears tomorrow.

Poor performance

Bought this item Oct. 2012, used it 3 times, now it doesn't start. I've emptied the gas before winter, refilled it first with 89 octane (wouldn't start), emptied it and refilled with 94 octane, still wouldn't start. Put new spark plug in it, it still won't start. Called Briggs & Stratton since it's their engine (with warrenty), can't get anyone to help. I owned a Toro for 15 years and never had a problem with it. I bought this one assuming it would be worry free for at least 2 - 3 years. Boy did I make a BIG MISTAKE.

Low quality engine - repair after 5 uses

Purchased mower late in season and used 5 times on 1/4 acre yard. Ran engine until dead prior to storing for several months. Paid $50 to repair carburetor from ethanol gas damage. Non-warranty repair as damage claimed to be due to gas after FIVE USES. Poor quality engine if damaged after five uses. I had a cheaper mower that started for 5 years after several months of storage every season. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
