This is a great shop vac. I have had mine for almost 9 years and it still runs like new. It picks up just about everything that it is pointed at. Its not to heavy to carry when the shop floor is crowded or I need to move it upstairs to suck up a massive spill in the kitchen or bathroom. The difuser/muffler is more of a difuser. The vacuum is stil plenty noisy but tolerable. The hose is long enough, that I can use the vac to clean out my truck, and the cord is long enough that I don't have to park the vac on a chair next to an outlet.
I have found one problem with its design. If you don't grip the handles correctly when lifting it, all you will lift is the top. I have just about trained myself (after nine years, to pick it up by the full handles and not just the top, but every once in a while... Gotcha! No big deal unless it is full of sloshing liquid.
If I had to do it again, I would buy another just like it.
The Vac overall worked great for 87 days. It has great suction ability. I personally really dont like things made wholy out of plastic and was skeptical at first when I purchased it. Then the motor started to cook itself on the 87th day of ownership. It started to smell really bad and was throwing small bits of plastic out of the motor vents.
Use it as a shop vac
What can you say about vac except I like everything about it and it does everything I ask of it in all situations. What is there not to like about it.
Plenty of horse power. The included utensils cover most needed projects. The filter will clog with saw dust or other small particle debris and reduce suction. However, the filter can be cleaned with water and reused several times. The filter is strong enough to endure brushing with a soft bristle brush without tearing. The wheels are not very good and tend to clog or drag. Since they are small, plastic and inside a shroud, they will rub against the shroud over time. Larger wheels would be a great improvement. Tool storage is ok. The newer ones with the hose retainers is much better. The included hose too short. Unfortunately many shop vacuums sold today, including this model, should come with a hose twice as long and flexible ( capable of contracting, like the one Sears sells with their wall mount 5 hp model).
I've used my wet-dry vac for just about every hoe improvement project in my home. I installed flooring, taken down walls, added walls, built workbenches - you name it, I've probably done it - and every mess was cleaned up by this exact wet-dry vac. I've even used it to clean out the trunk of my SUV and the pine needles in my backyard. Great buy!
large size and powerful motor with many accessories. ;0)
A couple days after purchasing the system I left the windows down in my wifes car during a rain storm. The unit worked great sucking up all the water in the seats & floorboards. Very powerful & I really like the large hose & attachments. Since I purchased the unit on sale I was able to add the additional 3 year warranty & still paid less that list price.
My husband likes it and it is a great addition to his shop
Bought Sears' top of the line shop vac to battle a flooded apartment. Time was of the essence and I couldn't get Sears staff to move much faster than slugs. The vac itself works well except that the attachments wouldn't stay together. They should have one long wand rather than sections that are prone to separating.
this is one of the best shop vac's I have used had no issues with the saw dust and pine needles in and around my shop
short term owner all is going well I will review after 6 months!
This is a powerful vacuum that will pick up metal shaving and saw dust with ease.
works well. not much else to say. does what it is suppose to.
