Good product for the money!!!

I decided to upgrade my old Craftsman 4-gallon compressor for a bigger one. I seen the price of this 20-gallon one and was kinda hesitant at first to buy it. I loved my smaller one so I decided to buy. This compressor is absolutely wonderful! For the typical do-it-your selfer/wood-worker hobbiest, this air compressor has kept up with all that I threw at it. I can run a air sander or an impact wrench and not have it cycle on and off constantly like my old 4-gal one. I am very pleased with it. That and it's oil-less so one less thing to worry about. The only complaint I have (and why I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars) is that it is very loud when it runs. I mean LOUD! If you care about noise, like in a basement workshop, I would not recommend this. But for the money, it's great.

20 Gal 150 psi air compressor

Purchased new!  Got it home and began using it with few issues.  Unit was extremely loud.  Much louder than my other compressor which is much larger!  Front feet were not level cousing the unit to wobble, (bent)  The big problem didn't present it's self until using the compressor a couple of times.  I began to notice black pieces of plastic all over the garage after use of the compressor.  Investigation revealed that the fan had been apparantly installed inproperly and was contacting the shroud which was making the mess.  The fan had been installed using th wrong hole of two that were available. It allowed the fan to contact the outer shroud which quickly destroyed the shroud and didn't do the fan any good either!  I am now trying to find replacement parts for the thing so I can salvage the compressor!  Sears does not recognize and model or parts numbers which are on the product.  Frustrating!!!!

WOW, Another Bad Review

Too bad most of the negative reviews were written after I bought this, otherwise I might not have bought mine. After two years of ownership and maybe 15-20 light duty uses, it no longer works. It still looks brand new because I keep all my tools in immaculate condition and dust free- so I don't understand why this broke in such a short period of time. Read reviews of all the affordable, non-"professional" air compressors from Sears- they are all terrible! you shouldn't have to spend a thousand dollars just to get a product that doesn't break.

Good working compressor

I was able to pick this up on sale and i have had it work very well for me. I read all the reviews on here and I have to admit at first I was afraid to buy it because of all the bad reviews. But it turns out I got one heck of a deal with a good warranty to back it up because the item is discontinued. Looking at this compressor you might think that 3.8scfm is not alot (which I did at first) but I have come to find out that this compressor can handle all my tools when I am working on my jeep. It also is able to break nuts/ bolts lose on my jeep that I wouldn't have thought it could with a 3.8 scfm rating- which really surprised me. The compressor started up fine with no issues at all. The time that it took to fill the tank was very fast and had to recharge very few times while I would use it. It also has worked very well in the cold because my garage is not heated. Overall good working compressor with a great name to back it up.

great out of the box. better results if used with the thicker air hose

Works great. Perfect for smaller jobs in the garage, with decent burst for occasional harder projects

Great air compressor

Works great. Fills relatively fast and is so easy to move around. I have toted it to several locations even through the snow and it rolls super nice.

Not good for air tools

This is a good home compressor but do not expect it to do much more than blowing off parts or moving dust.

So far/So good

It appears, although I have not had this item long that it is well constructed, looks good, and appears to function well. I have not used it extensively but I am hopeful..I will mention that this, like any other compressor needs to be prepped so the seals with hold..... I recommend strongly that you do this!!!!

Would not buy

Bought May 2011, used approx. 8-10 times then broke June 2012--piston shattered. Got it fixed with new piston kit $94 (out of warranty period of one year), used approx. 2 more times over next 91 days and broke again--same issue with piston -- it shattered. Warranty for fix is 90 days. I am not getting this fixed again, now I'm left with a $379 red paperweight. Will not buy any Craftsman power tools again--regular tools OK, but not power tools.

Broke in two days. 20 minutes of use total

Turned it on and charger it up once. Used it the next day to blow something off. Left it on by accident, air ran down and it kicked on. Went out to garage to shut it off and all of a sudden I have air coming out of it. Turn it back on and its shorting out, popping my circuit breaker. It has two separate problems. Its going back tomorrow.
