purchased this exact mower in August 2010 - cut 15 yards a week

I purchased this mower in August 2010. I have a part time lawn cutting business. I would say I have averaged cutting 15 yards per week since August 2010 with this mower. Great engine. NEVER failed. It always starts easy without a choke. I can't believe it. Incredible. Its also good on gas. It has a good amount of power. Engine is pretty torquey and has good blade speed. Does a nice cut. Only complaints are wheels can't go any higher and it doesn't push as easy as other high-wheel mowers I've had.If you keep air-filter clean, proper oil level, and blade reasonably sharp it provides a great cut.I don't know why they designed the wheel adjusters this way though. The highest setting is ok but could be higher for some situations.Watch out. The railing that you push can break near the bolt if the bolt is on two tight and doesn't provide any give. This creates a stress point.

Tough to push and lacks over 3" adjustment

I have owned Crafstman "push" mowers for 20 years. Decided it was time for a new mower and thought this one was the best option for a push mower. I bought it at the end of last season and did not use it until this spring (2012). Before my first spring cutting has an opportunity to talk to an expert from our university horticulture department and he recommended a cutting height of no less than 3 1/2" inches for a variety of reasons, all of which made sense. I recently assmebled the new mower and discovered that at the highest level, the mower is cutting at roughly 3". Very disappointing to havbe the highest setting that low regardless of what I had just learned. I reluctantly set it at the highest setting and began cutting. My wife also wanted to try the new mower since we share the cutting chore. Neither of us said anything about the performance at that time. I thoguht to myself that the mower was very difficult to push - certainly much harder than the old Craftsman 21" push mower we had just retired. I figured I'd give it another shot befroe passing judgment. Well the second cut went the same. The mower is very much harder to push and I really wanted to pull out the old mower again even thought the handle was broke. I contacted Sears and they surprisingly gave me a run-around even after explaining my story. They said it was past the 90 day return window and I was essentially stuck with it even though I was not satisfied and had only used it twice. They did say I could bring it in to a Sears service center and have a tech look at it. So I decided to take a look underneath the mower to see what was causing tghe drag. I discovered a plastic flap along the back side of the mower, presumably there to prevent flying debris from striking the user, that was almost an inch below the level of the deck (cutting height) I sawed off the flap and the mower now pushes like it should - like the old mower. If you do buy this model be prepared to get work out or cut off the back panel.

Good craftsman push mower

I purchased this mower to replace an older craftsman that finally quit on me,9 1/2 yrs.I looked around at other manufactures and different models, and this was my pick. The price was great and has a good name and warranty. This model has no primer bulb, and is a great unit for smaller yards with obsticals, good manuverability with the tall wheels and easy starting.Always use fresh gas and using stabil helps, had to change the plug after 1 season, replaced with a briggs.

rear bag lawn mower and repair service

i purchased this lawn mower, about 2 years ago.  this year it just started falling apart.  luckily, i purchased an extended warranty.  however, prior to all the problems.  the mower worked great.  it was well maintained, with oil changes, blade sharpening, and proper gas.

i think it was just a coincidence.  it was used weekly, starting in the spring to fall.  so i got my use out of it.

and with the warranty, i had no problems getting the repairs.  which was awesome.  it only took a week too.

it had a blown head gasket.  broken front wheel axle, blade adapter was broken.  oil filled air filter, from major oil leakage, bad flywheel.  and all this was repaired with no problems.

however, although i had all these problems.  i would still recommend this lawn mower.  it worked great, for the first two years.  i just recommend getting the extended warranty.  you never know when you might run into problems, such as i did.  and all at the same time.

it started acting up.  i quit using it.  but, apparently it was too late.

Dust Blocker Bag does not work

I have had the lawn mower for about two months.  After two or three mowings, the dust blocker bag stopped blocking dust.  I looked in the book that came with the mower, and there is no mention as to what I should have done or what I should have expected from the blocker.  I also found that if you do not tighten the oil filler cap tightly after checking oil, oil will blow out the muffler and scare the hell out of you.

I Now Only Buy Craftsman

I have a large lawn that I used to mow with a riding mower. Wanting to get more exercise I decided to purchase a push mower. Well I purchased two different brands and each broke in some capacity after one year.A neighbor who is a union carpenter and have a garage full of tools suggested I buy Craftsman as that is all he will buy. So I went and purchased the Craftsman 21 190cc Rear Bag mower and I am not disappointed.I waited until I gave it 3 months of heavy use before I wrote this review and the Craftsman stands up to heavy and rough use. Being in the NE and with all the rain we've had has made for some thick, long, lawns and the Craftsman plows right through it.I would highly recommend not only this particular mower but any Craftsman product as they are well made and built to last

Craftsman Lawn Mover is easy to start and operate

This Lawn Mower is well worth the money. It is easy to start, easy to maneauver, pushes easily over somewhat rough terrain, such as ditch banks, unleveled ground. Get product for someone like myself, who is getting up in age.

Craftsman 190CC lawn mower

Started on first pull! Easy to assemble and opeate, It plowed thru my high grass with no strain on engine. Definitely lighter than my old toro. Hopefully will last for years. Only neg is the front height adjustment had to be set at it's hightest setting to match my older mower which was set in the middle.

Started up right out of the box!

I purchased this mower after using my son-in-law's mower which is very similar, but does not bag. I have used this a total of 3 times now without any issues. It does a superb job & I love the way it starts right up with just a gentle pull of the cord!

My Craftsman Gold 6.75 3in1 mower ran for 2 seasons

I am very disappointed with this mower, after 2 seasons the engine has little compression according to the briggs&stratton dealer I took it to, he said its a throw away and about 2 years is all they last. I will not buy another craftsman mower and no briggs&stratton engines. I have had B&S engines that ran for years, but not this craftsman mower, the thing is not even dirty yet! Do not buy this item.

Soooooooo Easy 2 Start

Being an older person and not being as strong as I used to be I needed a mower that would be easy to start. Oh, how I found what I was looking for in this mower. One time pulling the string and wow the motor began to purr. No priming, no standing there jerking on a rope several times, begging the stupid lawn mower to start. One pull and I was off to begin a pleasant evening of mowing the grass. This Craftsman lawn mower was what I had been looking for. Luckily is was my bosses ( 2 men) who told me to go to Sears and get the mower. That Sears would take care of me and I promise you thats just what Sears did. Thank you Sears and to the very helpful saleslady.

Second craftsman lawn mower

This is the second craftsman lawn mower I've purchased. The first one lasted 15 years, and this one looks promising. It starts easily, easy to lower or raise the blade for precision cutting and easy to push. I swear by craftsman power mowers, and I'm a 66 year old lady :)

Lightweight and easy to maneuver

I am actually enjoying mowing our new yard with this mower. It is lightweight but still does a great job cutting the grass. It's easy to turn it around corners and to lift the back end up when necessary to get it over the edge of the grass.

It's a Craftsman!

So you know it's quality. Runs great, cuts well. Though, if you let your teenager mow it... make sure they empty the bag before it starts leaving the cuttings!
