Super Mower

I just purchased this zero turn on 4-2-2013. I had never mowed with a zero turn. This machine is so easy to operate. It use to take me1 1/2 hrs.to mow my yard, now it only takes 30 mins. I love this mower and will recommend it to others.

WARNING

?WARNING? Do not buy one of these mowers!!! I purchased one and right of the trailer I couldn?t use it. The blades hit the edge of the deck!!! It took two weeks to get it fixed!!! I mowed half my yard with it and found it leaked drive oil!! I called for service. Now, it has been down another two weeks and I am told they have to research where to get the drive unit and have no idea when they will find one or how long it will take to repair it. I called customer service, with no real help. I was told I could swap it for a new one but it was going to cost me a restocking fee of about $360.00 plus a delivery fee for the new mower. So, buy at your own risk cause sears won?t help!!!

Reduced Mowing Time to a Fraction!

Bought this mower on clearance towards the end of the season and have not been dissapointed the four times I have used it thus far. The mower and deck did not fit in the back of my Ram 1500 so I had to come back for the deck. It does take a bit to get used to as far as steering goes, and it does not mow with both handles in reverse. I don't understand this at all since the mower deck and hydrostatic drives are not connected. The one issue I am learning to cope with is turning on hills or when the grass is even slightly damp. If a wheel does not have good traction, it will slide and tear the grass. But what used to take me 1 hour and ten minutes, at the quickest, to mow, now took me 35 minutes to mow and then mow again to blow the leaves and grass to one side of the lawn. I will invest in the mulching kit next!

Good value!

This is a very well built residential mower. Initially, the mower had a few adjustment problems but Sears had a repairman out in two days at no charge. The unit has run great ever since. Two things you should be aware of: 1) If your lawn has a lot of bumps (like mine) you will have to slow down because the suspension is very harsh. 2) It uses a lot more gas than my old mower but the trade-off in time savings is well worth it.

If you want to push it buy it

I bought one online and went to pick it up the next day and it would not start. The guy at Sears had to choke it manually by putting his hand over the carb to get it to start. When I got home it still would not start. After being on hold for 15 min with the customer service line I was cut off. I then took it to my closest Sears and they refused to look at it. After heated debate they did look at it. After 1 hour working on it in the parking lot it did start. They ran down the battery and put a regular battery in it. The next day I noticed that the battery was out of the battery box and not secured. I called them and they said to bring it back and they would take a battery out of another. I took it back again and they did not have a battery to fit it? At that time I was furious! They would not let me return it to my local store because I had not picked it up at that store. Its funny that I could have had it shipped there and they would have taken it back, but since I picked it up at another store I had to take it back to the original store. After PUSHING it onto a trailer I returned it the next day for a full refund! I am out 100$ in gas and several hours of my time I am rid of it. I went to ***** and bought a Husky that runs and mows.
Bad customer service ruins the reputation of a business. Not once did anyone offer me any assistance, other than go somewhere else. This was the last time I shop at Sears.
If you bought one good luck finding a replacement battery in the Spring!

Good mower

So far so good. My father is 81 and still active. He has been able to run this mower with no problems. Never had a zero turn. Cuts very well. It does not cut in reverse but is not a problem. I dont see how it would be. He is a little disappointed because he gets done so fast now and has to look for other things to do. I am now looking to buy the same mower. Just waiting to find one at a discounted price. Purchased 7/14

Can't wait for my grass to grow so I can cut it again.

I only used this one time but so far I am very, very pleased with it. My grass had gotten waist high and it didn't even slow down went through it lickety split. I'm 78 years old so the steering will take a little getting used to( can't teach an old dog new tricks). Wife said I looked like a drunk man on it at first. I cut my 5 acres in a little over two hours and only used a little over 3/4 tank of gas. Took me half a day to cut 1/2 of it with my 16 year old sears tractor with the same width deck and 22 horse motor. My only regret is waiting this long to buy it. If you have more than an acre to cut take my advise and buy one.

Zero Turn Mower is great.

I have a large yard, and this is just the thing for getting the job done quickly and efficiently. And the yard looks good, no skips or lines. Since I just recently bought it, I had to get used to the feel of it, and the speed, but it works just fine so far.

awesome mower

I went to a sears outlet store and got this mower. I got it for 1199.99 a steal. Some one had brought it back. Still has two year warranty and less than than two hours on it. I just had to get it for the price. works even better than my cub cadet zero turn. I saw it had a kohler engine so I bought it. I just couldn't pass on it for that price.

Nice, well equipment zero turn mower

I studied the features and price of many brands and models of zero turn mowers and the Craftsman ZTL 8000 is the one I bought. This mower has great features, the most important being the Hydro Gear ZT-2800 hydrostatic drives, The drives are heavy duty and serviceable with each having its own filter. This mower has a nice heavy duty deck and has a very smooth cut. The Kohler engine runs great and has a plenty of power even in thick grass. I have about 4 acres of grass to cut and this thing makes it a breeze.I wish this mower had been around ten years ago and I could have spent more time doing something else!

WHAT A GRASS CUTTER

My wife and I recently bought a new house with five acres. Only one acre of it has trees. I mowed the first couple of times; then she decide to try it. Now I can't get her off of it. The only complaint she has is that the seat is to slick and she keeps sliding forward and has to constantly push herself back in the saddle. So if you purchase this product find a seat cover for it. Other than that this machine will cut whatever you need it to.

I love this zero turn, cuts very good on low speeds.the 54" cut saves time.

Fast or slow it cut very good. Be nice if it had a seat belt and arm rest.

Great mower

54" cutting deck
24hp Kohler
ZT2800 transmissions

Just picked my ZTL 8000 up a few days ago. I had been looking at a few other brands and had settled on the one that I felt I was going to buy. It is a 54" ********** with a 24 horse Kohler engine. I have done tons of research and realized that much came down to transmissions. For any larger yard or acreage, the ZT2800 transmissions are a must. Far stronger than the EZT on the smaller residential mowers. I ran across the Craftsman ZTL8000 by accident. My old lawn tractor has had issues over the last few years and it was time to move on. While looking at Sears.com, I ran across the ZTL8000. It was a new model, and had good reviews. After looking more into it, I realized that it wasn't the same as the older zero turns that Craftsman had sold. They were lackluster. This new model had the same features as the **********, even the same motor and transmissions, for $1000 less. I bought it, got it home, and mowed twice in a week.

ZTL 8000

The ZTL 8000 is a big upgrade from the ZTS 6000. Better controls and more heavy duty all the way around. Price was a big plus as I shopped around and found that Sears once again has beat competitors along with quality. The only thing I dont like is when I hit a big hole that my dog digs in the yard, my mower depth will pop out of its setting.

GREAT ZT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yippee!

In ONE word Yippee! Could not wait for the grass to dry, You would not want me to use your mower! I abuse my equipment something awful, I plowed through everything in an old woods with deep pine needles and twigs and fallen limbs. Cuts great, fast, clean and close. It throws discharge 8-12 feet out without bogging down! I'll put mulching dam in to drive cuttings into the ground. No need to edge along wood or wire fence! This is designed and well built, the steering handles are adjustable. The front axle articulated giving it a good ride and does not gouge the ground. 24 HP is plenty because the machine goes fast enough to scare even me. I shopped hard and then waited for Senior citizens day for extra discount. You will be pleased with this mower if that is your decision.

Nice Mower for the money

I purchased one of these mowers about a week ago and have already used it to mow about two acres of grass. Overall I really like it, as it is easy to handle and has plenty of power to cut thru tough taller grass. I plan to use it in my lawn maintenance business and will see how it holds up thru daily use in all kinds of lawns. Will keep you posted.

24 HP Kohler with 54 inch deck

I purchase this mower in case my other Sears o-turn mower gave some trouble. Sears wanted $1,275.00 for a two year continued warranty on the older one, it is five years old. I figured that the cost of this new (2699 on sale) one was worth it vs the cost of the warranty. The deck moves if you step on it to sit on the mower which could cause you to lose your balance. The seat is too far fardward for a person with long legs. A large body person doesn't have the room it takes to pull the handles back to make the morwer go in reverse or turn sharply. The parkng brake is right below your left leg and akward to pull up and lock in position. Sears doesn't offer a grass catcher for it. The left rear tire pulls harder than the right so on inclines I find it to be dangerous to the operator. It started right up when I picked it up from Sears but when I started cutting ten inch grass or so it would choke up and I'd have to go real slow, but other than that it runs great and does the job.
