I recommend this compressor, but there are a couple things you should know. I bought it for finish nailing and it works perfectly well. I like how compact it is with the 4 gallon tank. While it cycles on more frequently than say a 6 gallon unit when running the nailer, it's not like a 1 or 2 gallon unit that has to run constantly. Here's what you need to know: it's heavy (maybe that means it's well built), the pvc hose is a joke, and so is the accessory kit. Buy it, but you'll immediatly want to spend money on a genuine rubber hose and you'll probably need more connectors - it doesn't even come with enough parts to quick connect the blow gun for example. Making an honest apple-to-apples comparison, however, most, if not all, other low priced compressors come with pvc hose too so this cost will get you no matter what. I don't regret buying it at all, and the service at my local store was great.
Just purchased this compressor with a 3 year replacement warranty. Plugged it in and the compressor was leaking air from behind the black cover. Could not get pressure above 80lbs. Quite disappointed that I know have to trek back to sears and get a replacement. I've read other reviews with this exact same problem. Hopefully sears read these reviews and report these issues back to their manufacturers and their qc teams. I certainly expect more from a craftsman product.
We are home renovators and he needed a reliable air compressor. (The one he received as a hand-me-down was scary.) I am always happy when Craftsman offers a tool he is in need of or mentions wanting, because I don't even to ask for details, I can truly surprise him with a gift he'll love and use.
got this for my son for Christmas, he can't wait to use it
I bought this for little jobs around the house. Its a good price for the use i get out of it. The additional accessories are junk but hey its a freebie.
Replaced an Evolve. Much better.
I have had 3 of these in the last year. The first 2 had issues with the valve. The plastic sleeve that holds the fuse on the switch has blew apart on the third one. I have only used it maybe 20 times for inflating and small projects requiring a brad gun. I'm done. It's an easy fix but why bother. Moving in to something more dependable
price size out put every thing a bout it is nice
This is just what my husband needed. He wanted a light weight compact air compressor that we could take to our vacation home without packing up the big compressor. Works great and well worth the money.
This is a smart buy if you are looking for a small compressor for tasks around the home. I use mine to keep air in the tires, put base boards in homes, and for small wood working projects. This is easy to move around and is reliable.
This compact little compressor is the idea machine for my dad's new nail gun that I also purchased from Sears. As always, a good price for a quality product!
Easy to use, easy to move around
Replacing an older model.
Significant leak under the plastic shroud right out of the box. Manual says if it leaks under the shroud, check the torque on the head bolts. I'm not taking it apart I'm taking it back.
I only use a compressor a few times a year and this little gem works very well - I have it in my basement and run the house out to pump up tires and blow out the sprinkler system.
I bought this model after the one my father left me finally died. I like its more compact design and the placement of the carrying handle. Noise during compressing cycle is a little loud but not excessive. Does a fine job with the car tires, nice pressure level. I also used it with a nail gun when adding to my deck, worked fine. The one thing I don't like about it is the air hose, tightly coiled and not long enough; also, the fitting on the end does not rotate. However I have other hoses so it's not a showstopper. Overall very happy with the compressor.
I bought this to put air in my cars tires. Works as advertised. I have not tried my small power tools with it yet.
