So far, very nice machine

I replaced my 17 year old 16HP-Hydro trans tractor with this 21HP- Hydro trans model during Thanksgiving Friday sales. It was delivered fully assembled on Monday and pushed directly into my garage. I double checked the oil, tire pressures, filled the tank with fuel and started it on the first turn of the key. Then I purged the trans per the manual instructions and cut the front lawn after running the engine with no load for a few minutes. For the price it was the best deal in a mower with hydro drive and a 42" deck which is what I wanted. It's made by Huskurvana and has a Huslurvana emission label under the seat. Very easy to operate and it seems pretty well built with an engine made in the states so my guess is it will be fine for my needs. Since the few weeks I've had it,I see no flaws and have no gripes I can say about it. Time will tell, but I'd buy the exact same machine if I had to do it again.

Sears Craftsman Yard Tractor

I purchased a Sears yard tractor and had nothing but trouble from the start.  Working with customer service could take up to a month to send parts and get a repairman out to install.  I will never buy another Sears Chraftsman unit again.

Great for my flat yard

Bought this to cut my yard which is almost an acre. Ground is flat and the mower does a neat looking job. Just tuned it up after the first season. Wish it had a hour meter, I bought one and installed myself. Had service within the first month, they forgot a pin or bolt and the steering wheel pulled up and was free spinning. No problems since.

Right mower for my lawn - priced right.

Ideal combination of size, power, cutting width. (1/2 acre with obstacles). Expect to get a dozen or so years of use, as with my previous Craftsman mower. Comfortable, powerful with intuitive controls. Like oil filter system. Under-deck wash system.

After 3 years of use...

This tractor would have gotten a 5 star rating from me after year one, but I've had multiple issues since, slipping drive belt (nearly every time I get the tractor out) and most recently, the frame cracked and broke off where the rear axle connects, along with the rear drive assembly. Buyer beware, a purchase like this should stand the test of time without causing these kinds of headaches. My options now are wait 2 weeks for Sears to charge me $100 for a technician to see if it's covered under warranty, or fix it myself. Really disappointing considering Craftsman's whole ad campaign are that it's tractors stand up and exceed the quality of competing brands.

1st time great, 2d time better

I am replacing a Craftsman yard tractor with a second just like it. The first one lasted 10 years and would have lasted longer if I had taken better care of it. I expect the same service from this new tractor.

Think hard before you purchase

The tractor ran great for the 1st year, after that problems, motor issues, tire issuses, one thing after the other. Think hard before investing into something that doesnt seem reliable.

Firs new rider

I have had the pleasure of owning several used and different manufactured riders in the past. They were all great at first then the troubles begin, steer to the left only(not a racer!!!), blown motors, bent front end parts, poor cutting due to missing parts on deck that just fell off(machinist made new part manufacture did not carry part anymore), gas tank leaking(new one cost more than I paid for lawnmower installed gas can as gastank red neck style). My neighbor purchased Craftsman rider 6 yrs ago and has let me mow the yard several times and it was great each time, he has had no issues. Brother owns Craftsman rider for the past three yrs and no issues. Bought mine in April of 2013 and have mowed 6x already with no issues and impressed with the way the way it runs and cuts. Yard was overseeded in winter and spring and is very vey thick now and the yard has never looked better. Read all reviews and instructions before purchaseing which helped with initial mowing of yard.

Great Mower

I did alot of research before purchasing a riding mower for my little over a half acre. I wasn't disappointed at all with my purchase.Handling and the cutting was excellent. Even on a mild damp grass it cut with perfection..

Nice Mower, but not without faults...

Being a reluctant Sears customer due to past issues, it was with some hesitation that I bought this. But I must say I'm overall very pleased. A few exclusive features (tight turn, upgraded motor) and compares very well to it's price-range competition and even a few for more money. I can't speak to longevity yet, but it's much easier to use compared to my prior mower; the mow-in-reverse feature is great, as is the oil change feature. Good power, very even cut, and great bagging with reasonably dry grass. Also like the availability of the 'hard bags' grass catcher, no more rotted-out bags. Downsides? A few; the transmission 'speed' selector tends to return to zero, so you'll likely need to 'bump' it while mowing. The cup holder is useless; 1, the vibration will shake any carbonation out of a drink quickly; 2, if you have the bagger, 'leaking' around where the discharge chute goes into bagger will quickly cover your drink with dust/grass. An hour meter would be nice too.

Great value

We needed a somewhat powerful yard tractor because the property we bought has steep slopes that need mowing. I've only used this tractor for a year -- 20 hours used on it -- but I am very pleased. It sat all winter and turned right over, even with the old gas in it. I use an additive to help "keep" gas longer, though, so that probably helped. Climbing the hills has not been an issue, this has plenty of power for it. The cut is very good and even. The blades are still sharp after having hit plenty of branches. Overall I am glad we purchased this tractor, it's done all I've wanted it to do.

love it!

delivery guys were very informative, no crating or anything to remove or throw away on my own. The delivery guy walked me through the mowers features. My grass cut evenly and with speed. I had to be careful because this thing was so quick it was whipping my neck around! My yard is hilly with many obstacles so I wasn't sure of how successful I would be but this mower has been a cinch to use. So far so great.

Great Riding Mower for the $$$

This is the first rider I've owned. After many months of looking at different brand mowers, I decided to purchase this one. The features that helped me decide were the (4) anti-scalp wheels, the Hydrostatic automatic transmission the horsepower and the 6" turn tight steering. With the sale price I bought it for, no other brand mower had the same features for the money. I have used my mower 4X to cut my 0.47 acre yard and have not added gas to the tank since filling it the first time. Looks like I'll get a 5th run before having to refill. I absolutley love this riding mower! It is smooth, comfortable and cuts very nicely. It used to take me 2.5 hrs to push a mower and now only takes me 30 mins on the rider. I removed the discharge cover and installed a mulch plug I ordered through Sears along with an hour meter. There is a convenient panel that pops out of the dash and the hour meter plugs right into an existing harness made just for it, then snaps into the dash. Nice add on feature.
