Good Storage, Better Value

I am very pleased with this toolbox. I have a much older one similar to this one, but the top section has 4 drawers. The ball bearings are a great improvement when you start getting heavier drawers. For the price, I was a little bit cautious, in fear of the toolbox being weak or flimsy, but I am glad I was wrong. It seems well built, but only time will tell. For my use, this toolbox was a great addition to the one toolbox that was getting over full and becoming a mess. I am a heavy do it yourselfer and have many tools to do quite a range of jobs. I don't believe in buying $1000 toolboxes just to have some monster of a chest to dig through. With 2 average size toolboxes and some shelves, I have more than enough room. Now that I bought a second toolbox, I can be a little more organized and add even more tools. All in all, I feel that this was a good buy, and if you are just a homeowner who has a basic set of tools, this will serve you well. For a mechanic, it serves me well, but it is all about your preference. If you are going to be slamming drawers carelessly like some, maybe you should be looking for something a bit more heavy duty. If you take care of your stuff like I do, this should work well.

Ball-Bearings ****

Bought this item, when I got it home and partly assembled, I discovered the roller bottom drawer slides had lost the Ball Bearings. The parts were there, but I couldn't repair my new tool box. The box I received looked OK, but the tool box had small dents, the top was stored in the bottom section. Bolted in and one of those was damaged also. Returned the cheaply made item.

You get what you pay for.

When you take it out of the box and assemble it, you know it isn't going to last forever. I dropped a small screwdriver onto one of the drawers and it left a dent. I dropped it from 5 inches. Oh well. For the price you can't complain. It holds all my tools better than my old steel portable toolbox. You feel like you have to baby the whole thing, though. It feels like a piece of IKEA furniture, as in if you move it, it will fall apart. This thing should be priced at $69.99 at the most. Don't expect it to blow your mind.

Horrible

|

Bottom chest was crushed on both sides in the back with no damage on packaging, and no scratches on paint in crushed areas. This tells me that the box was packaged with this damage. The construction is very poor and flimsy. Will be returning for a refund. Time to find another brand of tools since Craftsmans quality is going down hill very fast.

Great Tool Storage

|

This is a great Craftsman toolbox. It is well made and very sturdy. I really like the cross bar that covers the drawers and cabinet so that you can lock up your tools.

Good product

|

Excellent tool box for the home do it yourself person. Good quality constructed well for its price range. The price and the fact that it has ball bearing drawers is what drew me to it. The tool box is not that big so it doesn't take up a lot of garage space.

Value for a low cost

|

Very good product for general use. Light weight very portable with the attached wheels. Limited assembly required and simple locking system. Good for a garage and medium quantity of tools to store. Went together quickly and is small enough that it doesn't take up a lot of space.

Great deal!!!!

|

This is the Sears I remember!! Well built, sturdy, no defects and just an outstanding product. I wish that it was a little larger, perhaps I will purchase a middle section for it. If you think you might fill it up, you will. Buy as large a unit as space and wallet allow and you won't go wrong!!!

Nice!

|

I bought this as a Christmas present for my father and he loved it! It was easy to put together for him and looks very sturdy but I expected that bring a Craftsman product. I would definitely purchase another and recommend it.

what happened?

|

I've owned a few of these tool boxes in the past and loved the quality. Craftsman was a name my family trusted from my grandfather down. I was in need of purchasing a few small boxes and didnt second guess this one as I've had them before. Well, all three that I purchased were flimsy, had dents and did not feel nearly as sturdy as they used to be. Luckily, these 3 are only being used as office furniture in the shop so nothing heavier than a stapler will be in them.  For the price, its not horrible. If you are just going to be storing light tools, by all means its still a good box.

Ball bearings came out

|

Although Craftsman makes reliable products and their tools are stellar, this tool drawer started coming apart out of the box. Sliding the drawer out to assemble the chest to the top, the cap that holds the drawer slide in popped off and all the ball bearings for the drawer slide came out and went everywhere. Some of the rivets or studs along the same started falling off when I was gently turning the chest upside down to put on the casters. I'd recommend getting a better grade Craftsman to avoid the headaches of returning a large item.

Works.

|

It was exactly what I was looking for. I needed one place to put all my tools and this works perfectly. Seems sturdy enough for what I need and should last me a good long time.

Exactly what we needed!

|

I bought this set for my husband for Christmas after I returned another one just like it to the store (it was damaged during shipping). He put it together with ease and immediately began putting his tools away. I don't think it is big enough to house all of his tools. I will probably need to buy additional units, and I will make certain they are Craftsman. Thanks for a great product.

Wish it was made in America

|

Toolbox is nice but metal is thinner than I expected. Pkg says "Made in China" and assembly nuts/bolts are metric, not standard. It says it has a 300lb load limit, I doubt it would really hold that much without bending. Wish it had been made in America instead.
