I bought this sander to replace my old B&D that died. The first thing that i noticed was that I didnt have a numb hand after using it. This sander doesnt want to walk all over the board like my other ones do, the dust collection works real well and the variable speed is great. I picked this up on sale so it was a real great deal. My father borrowed it a few weeks ago to finish a project he was working on, and now he owns one too.
its a great sander it replaced my other one i had
Virtually vibration free and is really lightweight. Just the right size to hold comfortably in your hand. Very satisfied with this product.
I bought this to do detail sanding around newly installed windows. It is easy to control and pretty clean to use with its dust collection bag.
Very handy product. It worked like a charm when I was refinishing woodwork around the house.
Got one of these for Christmas and wondered what I'd use it for. Then I had to refinish a bathroom vanity and it worked perfectly. I recently refinished a gun stock and this thing made taking the old finish off and smoothing out the scratches and dents EASY! I was very glad I had it because I'd have spent 5-10 times the amount of time it took with this tool. The sanding pads also tend to last a long time when sanding wood and don't get clogged up.
this sander works great, very fast orbital sander with a variable speed dial. Worked great on trim work in house
The Craftsman Random Orbit sander is so quiet and easy to use. Most of the other sanders that we have purchased to do sheet rock work have been very loud. It also has multiple speeds depending on what kind of sanding you need to do. Love it and recommend it.
Just finished sanding the inside of my cabin with this sander and it worked great. I especially like the fact that my vacuum hooked right up to it and the dust was minimal. Easy to change papers and the variable speed is nice. I bought a skil at about the same price previous to this one and it didn't last half as long.
Random Orbit Sanders are perfect for any workshop, and this Craftsman version is no less than that. It sands without making indentations because of the random pattern, and it fits universal hook & loop discs. The best about it is the built in vacuum and bag attachment, or attach a hose from a wet/dry vac for big messes. The residual dust this sander leaves is virtually nill. I love this sander.
Great Price Easy To Use Craftsman Product

The tourque surprised me. Material removal was fast, smooth, and nearly dust free. Love the dust collection, although the collection pouch can be a pain to empty. Used it for rough sanding and final sanding to 220 grit with very good results. I would recommend this tool for a beginning woodworker or proficient DIYer.

I stopped by our local little Sears store to buy the Craftsman 11217 RO sander, but they only had this variable speed model and I bought it instead. I expected to wear the thing out in a week grinding old paint off some cedar siding and didn't want to spend much money. With 40 grit paper and the sander connected to my shopvac (a very nice feature of this little hummer) it did a fantastic job with no dust clouds, low noise levels, at about half speed, no sore arms from vibration. It did a great job on >200 sq ft of old siding, and had conntinued doing excellent work on some shop project finnish sanding, and it is still running strong. The variable speed feature really works well and it was something I had origially dismissed as a useless attribute, but it is very useful and well worth having. The little dust bag catches nearly all the dust. If you need a great little RO sander, you won't go wrong with this one. My old 1/3 sheet RO sander went into the Trash can!

We decided to restain some of our living room furniture last week. Picked up this Orbit sander to help us get the job done. Well it worked just fine and the "hook and loop" sanding pads were very easy to change. They are a little more pricey but worth it. Make sure you put on a dust mask when working. It has a collector in the rear but you know when you sand it gets messy. Very good product for the price. Don't know how it will hold up down the road but were going to find out.

This sander is great. It has worked flawlessly for me. I do some minor woodworking and my latest project it came in very handy. I was making some adorondak chairs for my house and it made it alot easier taking down all the edges. The variable speed helps alot so that you don't take down too much material. Another thing that I like about this sander is how the paper is connected to the oscilating plate. The other sanders have the sticky pads that give out before the sandpaper is bad. I hated having to waste good sandpaper on the account of the stickyness going out. The dust would get underneath this sand paper and still keep going. The veldro type pad is pure genius on Craftsman's part. The only thing is I wish it would have come with more sandpaper pads. This sander will be getting alot more action in the months to come. The chairs were a great hit, now we need a table or two and some footrests. Hope you guys get all you need out of this sander and this review.

I have done several small projects with this sander and i love it. It does and exclellent job smooting surfaces. I used it to re do a roof on a car. I had been hand sanding but got tired so i drove to sears and picked this up. The pads are reasonably priced so for the future i know i wont mind having to buy new ones.

not a bad little sander for the money. im using it to completely sand down my 72 el camino. the sander has worked perfect the only down side is the bag doesnt hold much and the tube for it could use another screw i was using a shop vac with an attachment dealy and it doesnt want to stay on
