Excellent Product

Per previous warning about the blade not clamping into saw I took the care to make sure it inserted correctly. The clamping is different as it twist around but was not difficult to get blade in. It was used to trim some branches before the cold settled in for the Season and worked very nicely. Very well made and seems to have the quality Sears is so well known for.

Hazard!

I had the same problems with blades falling out. I just bought this today, and it took less than 2 minutes to have problems with it. I thought other people writing the bad reviews were just putting the blades in wrong - no, this product really has problems. Not only does the blade fall out, but one time it flew up and almost hit me. This is not just a piece of junk, this is a hazard and should not be sold!

I have used this product countless times without any issues and if anyone ever asked about the durability I would say it is second to none!

Great price for a great tool

|

I got this tool on sale for more than half off the normal price. Quality seems solid and the grip is nice. Has more than enough power for normal household work.

Very Handy in Fence Project

|

This tool was used to plunge-cut wood for a trellis on our fence. It worked great, had plenty of power, a good blade included in the package, and saved us money in the process. Thanks!

Nice little saw for a good price

|

The box for this item was very beat up, but when I inserted the blade and fired it up, everything worked perfectly. The blades are very easy to swap out in just a few seconds.

Good saw for the price.

|

This saw worked well for the price I paid for it. I cut some aluminium legs off of a grill to make a fire pit holder. I also cut off some 2 X 4s and had no problems at all. So far so good, no issues. I just need a better assortment of blades.

does everything

|

This saw works well, no problem with it. Cut everything from wood, nails or foam, to 3-4 inch branches off my tree. Has plenty of power and has a nice quick action and the heavy body makes it handle easily when sawing.

Junk

|

Purchased Just over a year ago along with the blade set. Blades do fall out constantly. Used this maybe 10 times and it completely quit on me yesterday when I needed it. Of course the warranty is 1 year so I am out of luck.
Would not refer anyone to purchase this.

Junk

|

Broke after second use. Motor runs but wont reciprocate. Was over 30 days so I can't return. So I got about an hour of total use out of it. Got 100's of hours out of my old Dewalt and that still runs. $40 out the window.

Excellent Product

|

This products is very easy to use for my weekend projects around the house. It has strong power and is light weight which makes it usable with very little effect. Very fair value for this type product. Highly recommended.

Poor quality, an unsafe product

|

With the exception of a gutless 5.5HP lawnmower (handled like it had 1.5 HP) , I have never had any major issues with craftsman power tools.

Light use - 2X4's, 2 X 6's, even a 1.5 inch square piece of wood causes enough friction the blade comes out. I would say that maybe the friction is too much, but some of these I pulled out with my bare hands. To show the folks at the store, I left the blade in the most recent piec of wood, cutting through it with an old hand saw more quickly than I did with the power saw... because any applicaiton of pressure causes the blade to come out.

With the power and 2700 RPM cycle this poses a serious hazard if you are doing tree limbs, on a roofe, or ....well... almost any working situation. The blad sort of "clips" in, not screwed in with an allen bolt like higher priced (and higher quality) products.

This is what I get by trying to save a little money.
