An impact wrench on steroids.

I purchased this product, and I'll have to add that it has a lot of power. At first, I was skeptic about it because I was always going for the top name brands like Mac and Snap-on. I work in a body shop, and very often I have to remove the tires from a vehicle to repair wheel-well openings on the quarter panels and fenders. Before, I was using the MG725 Snap-on impact wrench to remove tires. I had it for over a year, until it started giving me problems, since I didn't buy it new, but used for $200.00 dollars. I wasn't going to pay close to $600.00 dollars for a new one, which I think is absurd. Instead, I came across the Craftsman Professional 1/2 impact wrench. I read the aspects on it, and as soon as I saw that it was equipped with 710 lbs of Torque, I had to get it. I tried it on a 2011 Dodge Ram Super Duty diesel truck, just for the heck of it. I was amazed that the impact wrench removed the lug nuts quickly with a 60 gallon air compressor.

bad

Bad and I don't mean good !Mechanic since 86 . I love Sears, buy there all the time. And still will , but this gun has to be the worst I have ever had. First one felt weak so I returned it,and they gave me a new one. Another year has gone by and the gun is useless .Rated at 710 lbs ,8000 rpm, ,, it spins ,,, maybe 800 now !Never really seemed to have the advertized power ! VERY disappointed in this gun .

Love this gun

Bought this one after old IR died (after many years) .I had limited funds and got this one on sale and couldn't be happier. I like it MORE than my old IR, and more than co workers S O brand . I had it about 3 1/2 years now using it all day everyday, NO PROBLEMS. I do oil it everyday so I'm sure that helps but even if it were to die tomorrow I would have gotten my money's worth and then some. And yes I would buy another one.

This Impact is Great, has plenty of loosening torque and the thumb wheel adjuster is a must have in tight spots. If you gun back hits against anything and you don't have this thumb wheel you are in a bad spot (trust me...lol) but with this just flip the wheel and put bolt back in and get your gun out. Great gun and very comparable to tool truck guns but half the price!

Worth Every Penny

I do a lot of auto repair on the side at home, enough to call it a small business. This impact wrench has the power to versatility to get everything done with the speed I need. I really can't ask more of this unit. Grip is good. Construction is solid. Adjuster is of appropriate size and effect. This is one of my favorite craftsman purchases, and I have almost an entire garage of craftsman tools. When it comes to Craftsman, I elect their Professional line whenever possible, and it has always paid off for me in the end.

Pleasantly Surprised

|

I bought this gun to replace the cheap-o impact gun that my shop bought me (which had no place being in a shop). After a few hours of research and comparing the price against other top brands (IR, S-O) I decided to give Craftsman the benefit of the doubt. Initially my biggest concern was that it was not made in America, but after looking at leading competitors specs I found that not many impact wrenches were made in America, odd.

Took it to the shop the following day, not knowing what to expect in terms of performance. I got a pleasant surprise when I plugged this thing in, the power is unreal. It has no problem holding it's own against the IR & S-O guns used by my peers, at a fraction of the cost. This gun is significantly quieter than the cheap underpowered gun I had before, I didn't know it was possible to make impact's so muffled. I've used the IR and S-O guns, both of which sound like amplified velociraptors in comparison to the Craftsman Pro.

This gun packs the power required in a professional shop. The compact size & lightweight design are unbeatable, it can easily replace the need for a 3/8 gun. The "forward/reverse" switch makes this gun extremely easy to use with one hand, awesome feature. Being able to use it all day without getting a headache is a major bonus.

I've been using it for a month & a half now (longer than my previous gun lasted) with the same satisfaction as day 1. I highly recommend this gun for professional and DIY work, take care of it and it should last a long time.
