Great Little DVD Player

I rated this product outstanding because it did what I bought it to do .. play my dvds. I wasn't looking for it to do anything extraordinary for the price so I wasn't disappointed nor was I blown away. The only thing that did catch my attention was how flimsy the dvd tray seemed when it opens to insert the DVD. It feels like it might break easily under a heavy hand. so you might want to be careful there. Other than that, great little unit at an unbeatable price.

Works OK, Not What is says on the Box!

I bought this from a small Sears outlet and when I wanted to active the Progressive Scan it was not there! Six places on the box in English and four in French it says "PROGRESSIVE SCAN". Yet, it is Not a feature that is present in this model. When I tried to contact Curtis using the 800 number in the manual, I was connected overseas to a "agent" who knew nothing of DVD players and told me to call back in 2 days. In the mean time I tried a number of avenues to contact Curtis directly and None were valid. An address for repair service were the only ones they list and no phone numbers are attached to the address and back tracking the address leads to a variety of businesses- A Post Office Drop address apparently! Their web address lists an Email address that they Do Not reply to. Shaky ground with this company, if a problem occurs you will be SOL. Oh, when I called India back two days later they gave me the same Email address to contact that is not monitored. They refused to give any valid contact address to send snail mail to. Bad Business. Sears should have investigated this Company first.

Great DVD Player

I have just used it once, but it was very easy to hook up and operate. The longest time involved untwisting the twist ties from the cords. Very compact package, light weight. Affordable!

Cheap results...

Needed a DVD player on a spur of the moment. Cheap player gives you cheap results.

Horrible DVD player

Purchased this DVD player on black Friday for my sons room and was pleased to get it for $9.99. Unfortunately, it does not play many DVDs. Those it does play skip and get stuck constantly and those same DVDs play fine on my other DVD player. I talked to someone at Sears about the issue and was told it was only warrantied for 30 days. I definitely suggest spending a little more on a quality product. At the price I paid it's not such a loss, but a product should work reasonably no matter how little you paid for it.

Simple yet nice dvd player

This dvd player isn't too bad. It does its job without any issues from my experience. The reason why I only gave it 3 stars was because of a couple of things: the remote that came with the dvd player feels a little too cheaply made, and also the dvd tray is a little flimsy--if you're not careful, you can easily damage it. All in all, if you take care of the player, it's a decent buy (and one I'm happy with).
