This little light weight Grinder acts like a big boy, I needed a grinder that would reach smaller places and that would do industrial work, and this little DeWalt fits the bill. It's very easy to change grinding wheels and works like a mule. It also comes with a nice carrying case that hold accessories, keeps off the dust and makes storage easy.It was also priced competitively at Sears, ordered online, picked up the same day at the local store. Why did I wait so long? Great tool!
I like the quality of this grinder, it's size and weight. Would like have bought it with some additional attachments such as the cutoff disc and shield. Otherwise I'm quite pleased with the Purchase.
its the second one that I buy, because its great and it doesn´t quit.
This grinder isn't real heavy but is very rugged and powerful. We have been using it for some very heavy grinding. We burnt up my old grinder went and got this one to finish the job. The old one was struggling the whole time and had to be "easy" on it this one never slows down. It is worth the money.
my husband and i recieved this as gift and it worked great for use over the summer my husband built me a picnic table with a metal base and im not sure what all it was used i think to smooth out the sharp edges but whatever he used it for i was very happy with the out come one of the best tables i think ive ever had
great product, paid for itself 4 times over and lasts 10 times longer than the other brands. use three daily to shape tile. invaluable.
There are very few tasks that one of these tools will balk at performing. I have had the older of the two for over ten years and the other for almost four. I do a lot of metal work and enjoy having one dedicated to cut-off with the other to a wire wheel. I have also used these for such a variety of tasks from trimming bricks to some very heavy duty sanding. I have used many different brands of grinders and while others may have some feature or another that is handy or special the Dewalt is one that is never beaten.
My complain is that after 3-5 minutes of continuous use the tool gets hot, I returned and exchanged it for that reason(a very long wait at Sears customer service) but the second one gets hot also, apparently the bearings transmit the heat to the yellow plastic almost hot to touch (not electric components as previously thought) also the tool is not as quiet as advetised, other than that it feels powerfull and easy to handle.I hope everything will be ok.
PS careful, if you buy online on sale and return to store, Sears will charge you extra money for the price difference (because on sale on-line they said prices are lower than in store on sale) that was weird.Thank you Sears.
The grinder has many uses, I love that it is built to last. You can tell the quality stands out from the other brands in its class. For $90 its great! You can take it to almost any surface. I only wished it came with more replacement wheels. I would buy this grinder again.
After burning up 2 or 3 cheapo ************** 4.5" angle grinders I finally decided to get a good dewalt angle grinder, like I have at work and have been abusing for 8 years without a hiccup. This grinder is about the most powerful you can get in the 4.5" size and is very durable. So far I used the one I bought for home to wire wheel and flap wheel all the rust off of an S10 frame I'm using for a V8 hot rod VW Beetle build I'm working on ( www.v8beetleresource.com ) I've cut rust body panels out to be replaced, ground down welds, cut thick metal, etc and the grinder doesn't even struggle, and stays pretty cool, unlike my ************** grinders that would get so hot you would have to wear gloves to hold it.............. over all............... buy one of these if your planning on using the grinder a lot, and you won'thave to buy one for a long long time.
I needed a grinder to take out a drain grate that was laid in concrete. The DeWalt handled that job with ease. I've since used it for all kinds of tasks like sharpening blades and shovels, grinding off paint and rust, and cutting metal.
I especially like the paddle type switch versus the sliding type found on most grinders.
I highly recommend this angle grinder. It is light yet feels well constructed. The case it comes with makes it easy to tote between job sites. It would of been nice if it would of come with a few more attachments but it does come with one grinding wheel which I have not had a chance to use yet though the high speed sander wheel works great at removing rust and dulling edges.
For it's utility, design and usefulness you can't beat this Dewalt angle grinder. I use it around the house for many purposes. I have used it cut rebar like butter with a metal cutoff wheel. I used it to brush rust off a pole to repaint with a wire brush wheel within a few minutes. I used a masonry wheel to remove old concrete from my porch and cut off the base of a bad step and flatten it. This baby knows no bounds.Comfortable grip, and the paddle switch are nice and it's not too heavy. Lots of wheels are available. MUST have eye protection and ear plugs and a dust mask wouldn't be a bad idea. Heavy clothes are needed too, at least long pants cause this baby will spray shrapnel and dust everywhere! A must-have tool! Price is right!

I bought this tool to grind, cut and sand metals when welding at home. I have used the Milwaukee at work but did not like the flush trigger action as it wore your forearm out after a while, and there was not spindle lock for changing the wheels. The Dewalt has performed flawlessly, exhibiting ample torque and speed. I typically work with 1/8" to 3/8" steel, and it has been a breeze to cut and grind with this grinder. I can't yet speak for durability, but I am confident this tool will last a long while.
