Great Charger!

I purchased this charger to replace an older Die Hard charger that lasted me over 10 Years. Its a great durable charger and with its options under 200 bucks is well worth it. This charger gets the job done.

Nice Charger

I was happy with this charger when it arrived. The leads could be heavier gauge. Not sure how they will handle 250 amps.

Good bargain on Sale

Bought on sale. Works well... Metal case is a little thin, but it is not a chair. Everything lined up and was very easy to assemble. It replaces my old Sears charger that wore out after only 30 years. It is a good deal when on sale. Does more than most do it yourselfers neet

Diehard Gold Charger

I bought and assembled one of these last night.  Unlike some other reviewers, I found that it was easy to assemble, the holes all lined up. Quality is decent, case is as thick and sturdy as it needs to be.  It probably took about 10 minutes to unpack and have it ready to go.  .

Well, if I discount the time it took to fix one issue.  The four holes for the screws that hold the handle on were not tapped!  They just had small pilot holes and the screws were machine screws (not self-tapping), so I had to get my 8-32 drill/tap out and tap them myself.  If someone didn't have a tap, it would have been a lot bigger issue.  That's why there are only four stars.  Oh, and it could use longer batterry cables and/or power cord.

Die Hard Battery Charger

I have owned this for just over a year and have loved using it. It is very good at charging and starting. However, the axle and mounts are poorly designed, therefore I had to drill holes in the bottom and ran a piece of all-thread through the base and double jammed nutted it to the bottom and on each side of the wheels.

Great for the auto shop or home garage

I think its a good investment. It charges great and its simple to operate. I know what that other guy is talking about with the flimsy outer shell of the charger but its good enough for what it is and going to thicker metal would just make the charger heavier and less convenient for some. If I had to pick something that should be improved it would be the wheels to be made a bit sturdier and thread the axle ends to use nuts.

DieHard Battery Charger is best bang for your buck and then some

I have a few vehicles that I don't get to drive/use everyday and I don't like the battery cut-off switches or battery tenders with cords laying everywhere. I researched most of the battery chargers on the market and found the DieHard to be the best across the board for my investment.  It went together very easily and quickly and I find it to be very well built. I have used it several times since purchasing 3 weeks ago. It wheels around effortlessly in my garage and I have taken to neighbor's homes as well as a jump-starter.

Heavy-duty gauge battery clamps and cords are easy on/off. Power cord is also heavy-duty gauge and solid.  Unit itself I have found to be of very good quality and have zero issues with body panels. Stores away neatly out of the way under counter. Easy to read controls. Timer is a great assist and leaves no worries in regard to over-charging.

Don't waste money on cheaper units, if you think you are spending a little more, you won't regret it. Foresee it being in my garage for a long long time. Higly recommend with no hesitations, only wish I had bought it years ago!

Works ok but feels like a coke can.

It charges great and I agree with what everyone is saying so far. However, The fit and finish is horrible. The holes on the stand don't align at all. The body feels flimsy. You can bend the body panels like an aluminum can.  In addition, the paint had some scratches on it; right out of the box!  I think it's worth $80 not $100. To be fair, it does have a 3 year warranty which might come in handy if this thing doesn't hold up. So is it worth it? Yes and No. Yes, it charges great.  NO, for the fit and finish.

Good Luck!

Great battery charger for home or business

Bought this charger about 6 months ago to keep all my batterys  charged up on all my toys- Boat- Motorcycles-Trucks ect. And works great. I really like the the fact I can set the timer on it and it will shut off automaticly to help prevent overcharging the battery.

If there is any cons I have yet to find any. Although should you buy this be prepared with your screw driver because you will have to install the handel, wheels and front stand as they would not fit in the box if they were put on.

DieHard Battery Charger: a great investment for my home garage!

I am a weekend mechanic and have 3 cars that I care for (one being a classic '66 T-Bird). In caring and maintaining the cars, I always had a small battery charger on hand that I would buy at one of the local auto parts stores (not a DieHard or Sears), but after one or two uses, they would not work. I would buy another one to replace it, but always was too small to handle the dead or dying battery and again would die out after a couple of uses.

I purchased the Sears DieHard charger with timer and engine start this spring (it was even on sale). It was the best investment I made! Looking at what I paid for the three smaller units I bought over the years, I would have saved money by purchasing the DieHard first! I have (and loaned it to others) used it several times since the spring. It is very easy to use and lets you know the power level of the battery.

This is a great dependable charger

I bought this charger as a replacement for an earlier one that I owned and used for at least 20 years. The older one was still working fine but was stolen from my van. This charger never failed to start any car and efficiently charged all my batteries for yeears. A really good product

GOOD UNIT

GREAT CHARGER. HAD A CRAFTSMAN TRICKLE CHARGER FOR 25 YEARS BUT FINALLY WOULDN'T CHARGE A 6-VOLT DEEP CYCLE BATTERY, SO I BOUGHT THIS ONE. TIP: ON DEEP CYCLE BAT., CRANK HER UP HIGH FOR 20 MIN THEN LET HER SLOW CHARGE TO BREAK UP SULFATION.
