Walnut Bunk Bed

This bed was pretty easy to put together. Seems very sturdy. It requires an allen wrench to use those lock bolt type things and that's the only trouble we had was some of the holes weren't drilled deep enough for the screw and lock to meet. All in all I am happy with this bed. don't waste your money on the storage drawers I commented on them as well.

Dorel Bunkbeds

We ordered the bunk beds with the mattresses that go with it and was going to pick up the bunk beds today. We received the mattresses 3 days ago and even though on the website it said it was coil it was filled with all foam. When I did research to try and find some better quality mattresses I come to see that there are no alternative mattresses anywhere due to the bunk beds being an odd size. Twin mattresses are 75x39 and XL 80x39. The dorel bunk beds are 80x39 so an odd shape. Got a refund as I am not wanting my daugher to sleep on such a flimsy mattress that won't last a second.

Bunk Bed Good; Shipping Not!

|

PROS: Solid bed, nice color.
CONS: Cracked bed rail from poor shipping. The delivery man brought us a box that was damaged. He never opened it, or looked at it. He was very short with me. I told him I thought set up was included and he said no that I should of hired another company. I told him we always hire Sears. We paid 69.99 for delivery and I thought that it included setup and he again said no. He left the damaged box on the bedroom floor without even opening it or checking to see if the goods were okay.
So now, we have a damaged box, had to call someone to put our bunk bed together because we are not physically able. Not happy! Paying twice. It would have been cheaper to have one person go pick it up and put it together. Now we know better. This was the first time this ever happened to us. Now bed is up, but because the box was damage either at Sears before shipping or during shipping we have a cracked bed rail. We could have called Sears, but then we would have to pay someone to take the railing back off and reship, cost of ship to send, and get a new one. Not worth it. We are not physically able to do this stuff and that is why we pay people to do it. It cost us Sears shipping, and another person to put together. Not worth paying to remove and then redo again. It is only one slot. Next time we will know better. Just upsetting paying that kind of money for damaged goods. They should of never sent us a damaged box of goods.
So, beware when doing the shipping. It only includes shipping and not setting up. It comes in a thin long box. bedding comes separate. Each mattress in two separate boxes (folded in half). Hard to get flatten out after. Better off picking it up. Not shipped. Not worth $69.99. If you don't have a truck. Ask a friend and pay them it would be so much cheaper and worth it.

Bunk Beds

|

Purchased this item for my grand daughters. They are both in their teens. We did not set them up as bunk beds but are using them as twin beds. The beds are very sturdy, once they are put together. Putting them together was a chore, they are delivered completely apart. I felt it needed two people to put them together. Lots of bolts to keep track of. If the beds are ever moved out of the house, taking them apart and not loosing anything.
But overall I'm pleased with them.

Fairly sturdy, solid bunk beds.

|

We were looking at beds for our, then, 3 and 9 yr old boys. Found these were on sale for 20% off and bought them with the two storage drawers underneath. Heavy, solid wood components for the most part. Directions simple to follow - plan on a couple hours to assemble if you do it by youself. Had them for about a year and holding up good. My major complaint is the drawers. Maybe I had high expectations but they kind of just float around - no guides or rails to hold them in place.

Very sturdy beds

|

Very sturdy but unless you really enjoy assembling furniture it can be a bit more than you anticipate. Each piece, and literally, each slat, etc. must be assembled. Not difficult to put together but was a little bit of a shocker when we opened the box and saw all the pieces! Still happy with our purchase though. Nice finish on the bed and again extremely sturdy for the price in comparison to other beds costing more money than this one.
