Freezer First. Fridge 2nd.

I had a chest Freezer so I just needed a refrigerator without a freezer. There aren't too many out there to choose from and this was the best option I saw. It works. I clicked the Freezer/Refrigerator switch to 'R' and it works just fine. It's huge in there - lots of space and things aren't freezing as other reviewers have mentioned. Two problems though so far. The door is tough to open. It's a freezer door and not really designed for the weak. Opening the door moves my unit on my tile floor. I have to figure out a way to secure the unit in place. Also it is a bit loud when running. It's not a quiet refrigerator but instead a noisy freezer.

Huge Huge Disappointment

I purchased this Fridge/Freezer convertable 2 days ago when my other fridge went bad and after we sent it up we first had the fridge part on cool #3 and put a couple cans of pop in it and 4 hours later we came back to a fridge full of exploded pop all over, from top to bottom. Well we decided to give it another chance and put the cool # down to #1 and see if we just had it to high, this time we put a bottle of water in it and it was frozen solid with in 2 hours. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM BECAUSE IT DOESN'T CONVERT TO A FRIDGE ONLY FREEZES.

Fridge

I love the fridge so far. My only complaint is the motor noise is a little too loud.

Super, just what we needed!

We only needed an additional refrigerator at the holidays, but we needed a freezer all year long. This takes care of both needs!

This Frigidaire refrigerator is tops !!

I love my new refrigerator. It can convert to a freezer. We use it as a refirgerator right now. It is so big and holds large bottles and large bowls of left overs, etc. it is just perfect as a 2nd appliance in the garage. Great suction maintains a tight seal.

Awesome, so far!

This Energy Star fridge/freezer is great. We've used it to hold frozen meat while we defrosted our deep freezer. The rest of the time it is a spacious refrigerator.

Truly Convertible

We knew we needed a unit that could be both a fridge and a freezer as needed and this unit works perfectly. At freezing temps we were able to adjust the temp for hard freeze storage to low freeze ice cream. Then when we had a backyard party we changed it to a fridge and filled it with beer and soda. I would give it 5 stars if it ran a bit more quietly, but other than that is has been flawless.

Frigidaire 16.7 Convertible refrigerator/freezer

This appliance is amazing. It is NOT the freezer that I shopped online for. When I got to the store, however, this appliance was my choice. It has four large shelves, one more than most comparable sized freezers. Though I am using this as a freezer; I love the crisper type storage at the bottom. I do lots of jelly making and my fruits and juices store so well in the bottom. Everything is easy to see and reach. I love the outside. I had read reviews that said that using this appliance as a freezer was noisy. I have not found this to be true. Since this appliance is adjacent to my refrigerator, I'm wishing that I had another to use as the refrigerator so everything in the kitchen would be matchy matchy!

FrigidaireUpright Freezer to All Refrigerator

My husband and I decided to purchase a new freezer, we have a small older chest type freezer but it's not energy efficent and I hate haveing to dig through everything in it trying to find what I need, ( We have a large family) . I Love our new Frigidaire Convertible Upright Freezer to All Refrigerator. We have had it for 3 weeks and it was nice during the Thanksgiving holiday to be able to switch it over to a refrigerator to keep the pies and extras. It has lots of room, glass shelves you can see through and lots of door shelves..

This refridgerator is horrible

We purchased this to use as a fridge, didn't even have it a day and evrything inside was frozen, could not adjust the temp display panel read E. Had the repair man come out, he ordered 2 new control boards and the promptly blew out. They took the fridge back and i just got my new one about 3 hours ago......Its already down to 13 degrees and had another E on the control screen. DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE......Unless you like to waste money

Convert upright is very spacious!

We love this fridge! We've had it for almost a month and it's suits a family of 5 just fine! it's so roomy! We no longer have to dig and reach way in back to find things. I love how you can see what's in the crispers so you don't forget about it. We bought this just to use as a fridge. We have an ice chest type freezer that was given to us and we needed a larger fridge and didn't like anything else out there because they weren't large enough. If my kitchen were bigger, I'd buy a second one to set beside it as a freezer. I'd recommend this to anyone who like things cold and fresh. My only complaint is it can be a little noisy, but it's only noticeable at night when it's quiet. But our tv noise overpowers it!

Unit died within three years

I bought this unit in the summer of 2008. I thought it was the perfect basement frig to hold leftovers, beverages, my CSA share, and those exotic sauces you buy but take awhile to consume, etc. The crisper bins were particularly effective in keeping fruits and veggies in optimum condition. I loved the thought that if my chest freezer died I could just flip a switch and not loose my frozen food stockpile. But then it stopped cooling last week. I didn't purchase an extended warranty because I'm used to owning refrigerators that last 15-20 years, not less than three. I paid $80 for a repairman to tell me the gas was leaking and I was looking at a $400 bill for a jury-rigged repair if I wanted to keep it going. I'm heartbroken.

Frigidair Freezer/Refridgerator

I really like how big this is inside. I also like the fact that with two of these units (one set as a fridge and one set as a freezer) you get the capacitty of a professional grade unit costing over $800.

this item is not a good deal , it breaks alot

We bought the Fridgidaire Upright Convertile Freezer to All Refrigerator in April 2009. We also bought a Kenmore Elite Freezer the same size to keep both in the garage to buy in bulk to save money and time.

It broke in January 2010 and then again in April 2010-just one day before the 1 year warranty expired. The same repairman fixed it both times. He told us he fixed alot of them for angry customers and that it did not work well in the Fridge mode.He said to buyt the service and parts warranty for $85.oo a year and never let it expire as we would continually need repairs on this model. He said the repairs would run $800.00 every time.

He was right. It is March 2011 and it is broken again. The REAL cost of this appliance is the ticket price PLUS $85.00 a year for 10 years (or however long you think it should last-10 years seems reasonable length of time) plus the cost of wasted food and time off work to wait for the repair man.

So it will be $119.00 for them to come out and tell me it will be more than the cost of the appliance to fix it and it isnt even 2 years old yet.

Unfortunate circumstances at the time prevented us from coming up with the $85 in the 90 day service warranty period-so we had to just hope for the best. We had it for 8 months the first time it broke so we couldn't return it. We have not been satisfied with the purchase or the lack of resolution regarding it with Sears.

I would not recommend this appliance. What a waste of money it has been.

The Best Texas Garage Fridge ever

Perfect size and ample shelf space. Who ever designed this was really thinking. The range of temperature operation ion the specifications makes it a great Garage Fridge. Use a tripplite LC1000 line conditioner with it and you will eliminate damage from surges. Today's energy start compressors are sensitive to surge.
