Some problems, but good overall

The first month or so I had this refridgerator I wouldn't hear an unkind word said. However, after a month, a horrible burnt plastic smell started coming from the fridge and soaking into all the food we had stored in it. I moved all my food to a tiny dorm fridge and called Frigidaire to tell them about the problem. They sent a technician who found that some small pieces of styrofoam had fallen into machinery behind the freezer side and had burnt into little chunks of...I don't know really, but they were what caused the smell. The technician pulled them out and the smell stopped, but everything I'd had in the fridge or freezer when the problem occurred had to be thrown away since they tasted like plastic. Comparitively minor to that: the filter for the cold water is expensive and needs replaced far more frequently than I had thought it would.

Way too many problems

The motor is very loud and the comes out too quickly overflowing glass if not careful. Drinking water and crushed ice overflow the shallow catch reservoir and will run down the front door. The doors hang unevenly and cannot be adjusted. The stainless steel they used is a low grade as a magnet will stick to it. Both doors and handles started rusting after 3 months. Frigidaire told me this was a cosmetic issue and not covered by their warranty? Apparently they are suppose to rust in 3 months? What can I say....horrible refrigerator.

A great refrigerator/freezer !!!!

|

This is the first side by side with ice maker that I've owned and I'm loving it.
The front is smooth and so easy to keep clean, the glass adjustable shelving is wonderful !!!
The ice maker only makes a slight amount of noise but much less noise than if I was having to handle ice trays.

The Frigidaire 22.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Fridge is Wonderful!

|

I have high remarks about Frigidaire refrigirators. I recently had a steel with black fridge single door and had it for about 6 or 7 years still works, but thought it was time for an upgrade with more space so I gave that one away. I saw the black Frigidaire 22.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Fridge and loved it. Not only does it look great but the price was not bad either. I am so happy I decided to upgrade and even happier I bought this fridge. It is quick to make ice especially on these hot California days. The technician installed the water purifier for us to despense water, I get to choose whether I want regular ice cubs or crushed ice cubs. It has a lot of storage space, I love how long the freezer section is. The fridge makes a beep sound when someone has left the fridge open which is awesome. Over all I have no negative remarks about this fridge only positive and I am very happy I bought it (-:
