This set is great, but don't break the glass top!

We had a teenage girl assemble the table and chairs and she did a great, quick job of it. However, although I read the instructions that said do not tip umbrella when putting it in and and taking it out of the hole in the middle of the table (because you might break the glass) - I tipped the umbrella when pulling it out of the whole. Glass broke (safely). But now I have to buy the whole set again if I want to get new glass for the table. And local glass cutter charges $400 to cut glass for the table top. Don't know what I'll do, but for sure I'll be careful (and get someone to help me) when I try to move the umbrella next time.

dangerous

We LOVED this set when we first received it. It really fit in with the overall look of our home and gave us a new way to enjoy our expansive patio. We barely had it a month when we heard an enormous crash (today). We looked out the window, and the table had shattered. I guess a gust of wind had tipped it. There really wasn't any other reason for it. To add injury to insult (yes, I phrased that correctly), the glass wasn't tempered, which means that one of my kids was cut on a shard of broken glass even after we'd thought we had gotten it all cleaned up. Be careful if you purchase this. It's not safe, and Sears will NOT stand behind it.

great set of patio furniture

I found this set on special at the local store and bought it. It arrived about a week later and was easy to assemble. The chairs are extremely comfortable and although they're new, look like they are durable and will last me a good while. The colors match perfectly with my patio.

Excellent outdoor furniture

Took a couple of hours to assemble, mostly the chairs were the most difficult to assemble. Looks great and seems very sturdy.

Nice patio set for the money

Purchased this set as an "end of season" clearance and received a 60% discount. We've only had the set about 3 weeks but we are enjoying it so far. We live in the desert and will be using the set year round.
Assembly was simple and came with extra tools and hardware. It took me about an 2 hours (with a lunch break) to get it done.
One thing I don't care for is the back bar at the top of the chairs. If you lean back, it digs into your back and is uncomfortable..

Very nice for the money

I had no problems assembling this set, and I did it by myself. Everything was in excellent condition right out of the box. Nice large table, very comfortable chairs. Good value for the price.

Don't buy this

After one year the glass top on the table exploded! I am still picking up tiny pieces of glass, plus 3 in razor sharp pieces. Phone call to manufacture. They know this is a problem! No replacement, just offer to "sell" us one for $150. Thanks to our local Sears store we were able to replace it for $50. Should have cost nothing.

Quite good.

I had to make 2 trips to bring the packages from the store even though I have a Toyota Sienna minivan. Two of us assembled these in about 45 minutes. Looks quite good so far. Happy with the purchase.

Need to Use Your Own Tools

Tools and tricks that will make installation go much faster:

Sharp scissors
Tarp, drop cloth or blanket
10 mm socket wrench with ratchet
10 mm box or open wrench
4 mm Allen wrench with handle or screw driver type handle that can take one

Steps I found easiest to follow:
1. Spread out the tarp first so you don?t drop any parts through the deck or get splinters from your deck.
2. Check each set and frame for defects, especially where the flaw would contact a person sitting in it; one of ours had a clump of the metal flecks in the paint that would slice your arm open. Fortunately DW (dear wife) found before I assembled; it will be returned unassembled.
3. Use scissors to cut tape carefully off bubble wrap; remove untapped wrap by unwinding; take care not to scratch metal; good job for DW or other helper while you figure out your assembly system.
4. Loosen bracket on front of chair with socket while standing or on a table (other than the new one). Note that while bolts are designed to use Allen wrench, you can also use a wrench to loosen or tighten.
5. Turn chair frame and seat on its front so you can see the bracket area well. Attach seat by sliding in bolt and fastening the nut as little as possible so it doesn?t fall off. You may have to use a wrench to screw through the last hole if it is tight (DW suggested that and it worked).
6. Attach the arms with the smaller bolts as best you can; I found upright was best. Use socket/ratchet to tighten halfway on first. It will be tricky and different for each chair. DW (if available) can help hold steady or nudge pieces together so you can get the bolt started. Attach second arm bolt and tighten and fully tighten the first.
7. Flip chair on front to tighten the front bolts. Use the Allen wrench they supply or your 10 mm Allen wrench with a better handle to tighten small bracket bolts first; the open wrench they supply is pretty useless. Then tighten the larger bolt by using your socket on the bolt and open wrench to hold the nut.
8. Before you flip it over and take a break while testing, use your socket to check the bolts put on at factory. About half of mine needed tightening. Ratchet makes this a no-brainer.
9. Like any project, your first chair will take about 5x longer than your last. If you don?t have all the tools, hey, what joy is there in a project if you can?t use it as an excuse to acquire a few new tools!

Not impressed with quality control

This set was delivered a few days ago. Found two seats ripped, and a chair frame bent. I purchased this set based on its appearance. It looks good but I was very disappointed with the quality control. Had to call the company for replacements. Hopefully they will be hear in 6-8 weeks. They are imported from China.

Good Buy

Great set at a great price! Assembly isn't as difficult as other reviews state. Instruction pics can lead you wrong. If you assemble the chairs laying on their backs it is easy. Pivot down the bar that would be under the thighs (you might need some force, but it will go). Align the chair and bar holes. Insert and hand tighten screws and bolts, then insert and tighten arm rest screws, then go back and tighten screws and bolts on the chair bottom. As to table assembly, I did it by trial and error.
As to quality, I am glad the set is aluminum and won't rust.
As to comfort, love the sling back motion chairs.
Have not tried to fit six eating at one time, but seems like I could.
Really wish the company would offer a square table/four chair option, for small deck people.

sophisticated!

This set is very well put together. The chairs are more comfotable than I expected, the table is bigger than what I expected, and it makes my deck look better than I expected.
