Excellent - with tips

I'm happy with the pergola--great product for the price! But I did have to address a few issues: 1. ASSEMBLY: First I didn't see how a curved iron joining plate could attach 2 flat crossbars--then I realized the curve flattens out as you tighten the screws. Assembly otherwise straightforward. I bolted it to a wood deck and it's held up in the wind.2. RUST: Noticing complaints of rust, I thoroughly CAULKED EVERY SEAM with silicone window caulk--& it's working well. NO rust so far in 6 months. (During assembly, I noticed slight surface rust on unpainted interiors of bars and posts, but not a problem; the caulk seals everything nicely.)3. CANOPY: I replaced the standard canopy with a sunscreen fabric that lets rain & some wind thru & devised a system to stretch it tight using electrical ties, grommets and bungee cords. Now it flaps less in the wind and there's no problem with rain. With can-do attitude, common sense, and minimal handiness with tools, I think you'll make out great!

Terrible - not as advertised

This is for outdoors right? It is flimsy. The material on top does not hold up well to any weather. One night of wind and rain wore it out. It took about 2 weeks for the ties to break off and have to be repaired. Once the material flapped a bit in the wind, it weaked it enough to tear when we tried to take it down. We tried to go to Sears for warranty. They told us we need to go to the Manufacturer. They manufacturer says it is not for permament outdoor use. It needs to be taken down for any weather. NO WARRANTY. This this is not worth 99 dollars, much worse asking price. If you are looking for one, inquire within. You can have mine. JUNK

the good and the harsh truth

We bought ths pergola three years ago and we loved it--sturdy frame, very classy, good shade. We still love it. I would have given it five stars except that last fall (second year of use) the cover tore and was no longer usable. That would have been no big deal except WE CAN'T GET A REPLACEMENT COVER. They've been "temporarily out of stock" ALL YEAR. So, we're trying to find a custom canvas designer in our area willing to make a replacement cover, but no luck so far. We may have to buy a whole new pergola just for the cover.Would I recommend it? Yes, if you have a source to get a replacement cover when the original wears out.

We fixed the sag problem with the top

Lots of helpful pointers from previous owners helped us solve the sag problem with canopy. Of the 5 bars that go on the top of the structure we reversed # 1, 3 and 5 (or turned them upside down). This corrected the pitch of the canopy. Also sprayed the canopy material with waterproof spray which aided in repelling water! Finally added 8 lbs weights to each corner of bar that allows you to move canopy back and forth to keep material taunt.

Great pergola

Thanks for all the tips. I plan to use a grommet maker and place 4 to 5 holes that will not rip but also let water not pool anywhere on top. This will be a great cover for the summer

love it!

Bought it at the end of the summer, thinking we wouldn't use it until next summer, but we set it up anyway. It's perfect for the fall! It adds that little bit of coverage to make it feel cozy! We added some accessories and enjoy our coffee out there on a regular basis.

Horrible design

This item comes as long as it is in the picture, so make sure you have a truck big enough to transport it. Plus it is very heavy, so have a couple of people to help you. The legs are extremely unstable, it keeps wobbling side to side if there is even a slight breeze.

Beautiful pergola but the pitch is not right.

The pergola was fairly easy to assemble, except for putting the top rails on the posts.  It took four people to get it completed.  The cover is cheap and not waterproof..  The pitch of the top is not steep enough for rain water to roll off the cover.  It has rained twice since assembly.  The cover pools with water between the rails and sags.  It is too cumbersome to remove the cover each time before it rains.  I finally turned the middle J rail up on top of the rail to increase the pitch and covered the top with a weatherproof tarpoline.  I am waiting for the next rain to see if this corrects the problem.

The Pergola was scratched and pieces don't fit

Our pergola was delivered to us in a box with a great deal of styrofoam which you would think would cushion the contents. However, 3 of the major pieces had scratchs on them and one even had an area that large chunks were broken off. Two of the major junctions were not even lined up and took a great deal to make the pieces fit. I bit of wind and I'm afraid it will all come tumbling down. The touch up paint that came with it was broken and dried up, but when I called in about this they immediately sent us a new bottle of touch up pain.

Oasis Pergola Easy Breezy

I am extremely happy with the Oasis Pergola that I purchased. The instructions were very easy to follow. I put the top portion of the pergola together by myself. I had two friends come
over to help lift the top up and I put the posts under each corner, then finished bolting it down. My only complaint is that the fabric that goes over the pergola is not water proof.  When there is a lot of moisture in the morning, the fabric is dripping wet. Once the sun comes out, it dries pretty quickly, but it makes a mess of the patio table.  My plan is to water proof the fabric.  I am really enjoying this addition to my outdoor deck. For the price, I think this pergola is the best deal going!
