Bought this to provide shade for our extremely sunny back yard to replace an umbrella. It is made of steel, and without appropriate care, will rust, as it says in the instruction manual. (The manual instructs to use the enclosed bottle of touch up on any scratches, as well as a clear coat, or vegetable oil to remove surface rust and provide some protection. We liked the corner panels versus a single pole since our patio gets windy and we felt that they would be sturdier. Assembly was pretty easy. It took us about an hour or so to construct the frame and probably the same to place the canopy. (My husband and I with one step ladder and one 8 foot ladder) During construction it was a bit windy (we have small trees in our subdivision and our backyard feels like a sunny windtunnel most of the time) and the wind moved through the structure, with it staying put pretty well. We added a rolling shade to the west side (short side) of the Gazebo to block evening sun and it seems to be sturdy enough to handle it, although it snags the netting just a bit when it isn't closed. We considered adding curtains to this side, and we probably could have, but the wind was a factor in that decision. (A shower curtain, or outdoor curtain with eyelets could attach to the same rings that are used to attach the netting, or with slender shower curtain rings)The canopy is vented at top with netting (Think a gust buster umbrella) with metal eyelets between the frame pieces to prevent water collection in the canopy during a storm. The mosquito netting is hung with miniature 'shower hook' type rings that hang from a rail hidden by the canopy. There are tiebacks with a toggle/elastic system to hold the screens in place at the panels. The screens zip through the middle of each side. The canopy is attached using ties and velcro as well as wrapping around the frame (There is an internal panel that hides the rail that holds the mosquito netting)There are hooks in each corner panel and a large one in the center that hang electric lanterns/chandelier. We found some great small solar lanterns (About 10 inches tall including the loop) with a matching big one that we hung from a plant chain in the center at another store (So we can remove it to charge) and it looks very nice all put together. The unit is affixed to our patio using anchor bolts. The instructions advise not to do this, however this is the only way we felt comfortable that it wouldn't blow away. We plan to at least take the canopy and possibly the frame down each winter, and if there is stormy weather. We also plan to buy a replacement canopy just in case we miss a storm. We just had some pretty strong winds through here yesterday, and the only casualty was one of the rings that attaches the mosquito netting, but that may have been the spare that they sent that I hung on the rail so we'd know where to find it. The rest of the canopy seems to have held up perfectly. This would have 5 stars if it was made of a more rust resistant material, (Aluminum, perhaps?) as well as the fact that it instructed not to attach it to the patio. (why would something that takes that much effort be a temporary structure?) I will update this review with anything relevant as the season progresses, but I already feel that this is a more than adequate replacement for our Patio umbrella.
My wife wanted to purchase this at the store in Memphis TN. They did not have one in stock but said they would have it the following week. The Memphis store never got one in after a couple of weeks. My wife finally found it in Jackson TN and she put it in layaway. She decided to pick it up early so we drove back to Jackson and paid it off. It took me a few days too assemble it after work and none of the parts fit very well. I anchored it as instructed and last night a small storm came over, with wind that wasn't real bad, for a storm. This morning I found the gazebo on the ground with nearly every bolt pulled out of the very thin metal. We only had this gazebo for about 2 months. Unlike the $300.00 price shown online, this one cost us around $500.00. I will never again purchase anything made in China no matter how pretty it is. Very disappointing and very expensive for what it was. This item was on sale and unfortunatly is non-returnable. So I guess I'm out of luck, and a bunch of money.

I purchased this gazebo on clearance and got a great price. I was nervous about assembly also, but it went up fairly easy as all the pieces are nicely coded. Directions are a little hazy with which way to assemble a couple of the pieces, but we just used logic and only had to turn a couple of the pieces the other way while assembling. Definitely at least a two person job though. Once up, it is very nice to look at and functional. We did bolt it down to our deck... this I highly recommend. We have a very windy back yard and have had a couple of BIG storms (live in Illinois) and it has held up quite nicely. I haven't noticed any rusting in the past few weeks since we built it.
I was a little hesitant to purchase this one because I was nervous about the assembly. It went together so easily! All the parts are labeled and makes for easy assembly! It took my husband and I less than 2 hours to complete the job! I am very pleased with our purchase and I am excited to start enjoying my evenings outdoors!
i am very pleased with it. it took us over an hour to assemble and we had to go to the store to look at the sample one when it came to some of the assembly, as it wasn't all that clear on the instructions. we bolted it down to the concrete patio, as wind is a factor. i don't think leaving it up over the winter would be advisable, since we live in michigan. i would definitely recommend it. good value for the price.
My last gazebo was caught by high winds even though it was bolted down so we purchased this one, liked the style and looks. I was however dissappointed that the lanterns shown in the picture was NOT INCLUDED, NO where did it say that in the booklet or on the box. It was somewhat of a buying point for me. For the price I do wish the structure was made a bit more sturdy, I'm hoping this will last for more than 1 summer.

Product looks great once it is up and assembled, I will give it that. First time unit got wet from sprinklers it had rust marks, then when it rained, more rust. Second storm was windy, had canopy on and the unit started to shift even being attached to weights, took canopy off as suggested since it is a large kite, bad idea, wind took the unit with weights attached mind you no canopy flipped on side and bent it. I would not buy this unit if you live in any area that has wind, rain or dew.
