Not real happy with this dryer. The cloths tend to all ball up as they are drying especially sheets. Everything comes out wrinkled.
Every load of wash I do has to be dried at least 2 full drying cycles if not 3. I clean the lint out of the catch every load, I've cleaned it out of the venting and all the ports are clean, but it continues to require multiple cycles to dry even a super small load! I wish I would have saved a little more money and got the other set I was looking at made by a different company. I would not recommend this at all!!!
The only problem we had with it is the start button was loose, so we had to press it sideways in to start. GE came out and fixed it in 1 minute! He only had to click it in, and it worked like new again. They even asked us what time will fit us, and then they confirm it just before arrival. Very professional service people. We use it with dryer balls and dryer sheets and it works very well. I was worried that the painted drum will scratch, but after a year of use with denims and backpacks, the paint still look as good as new. Very happy with it.
This dryer is not worth the money. It takes hours to dry a small load of laundry. It is extremely noisy and even makes squeaky noises. The button to start the dryer is broken and must be finagled to work. I have only had this dryer since February of this year. Not worth a $1!
I found this dryer to not only be inexpensive but great value for the price. I have cut drying time and everything comes out fresh.
I LOVE THIS DRYER. THE PRICE IS GREAT AND ALL MY CLOTHES DRY VERY QUITELY WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT LONGER THAN 10 MINUTES. IT HAS ALL THE CONTROLS NEEDED WHEN DRYING ON CERTAIN SETTING.
This is a good basic dryer with enery star rating and very good value.
THIS DRYER WORK VERY WELL. SAVING ME MONEY AND SHORT DRYING TIME.
This dryer is terrible!! It will not dry anything on the automatic setting. Nothing is ever dry when the buzzer sounds. It aways takes another 20-30 min.
have had this dryer about 3 months and have been getting increasingly frustrated with it. It takes a minimum of 3 full cycles to minimally dry a load of towels and at least 2 cycles to do a load of permanent press. Although the price was right, it is wasting a lot of time and electricity trying to do the laundry!
I have had this for about 1 month and it has worked very well. I don't find the dryer to be noisy, and mine is located in a hall laundry closet. This is my 2nd GE dryer. I found out earlier this year after having the 1st GE dryer for close to 5 years that the 1st dryer was not vented properly when installed by a "box store", so you can't blame the appliance. The repairman was shocked it lasted the 5 years based on the venting. That is why I bought a 2nd GE dryer. I wanted a quality model with basic controls. I got a very good deal at a local "mom & pop" appliance store that has been around for 50 years. I have cut my drying time down a lot. I can dry a medium load of towels on high in about 35 minutes. I have been very happy so far! Thank you GE!
WORKS WAS AVAILABLE DAMAGED WHEN RECEIVED HAVE TO TALK TO SEARS TO SEE WHAT THEY WILL DO! IT DRYS LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO. HAD TO HAVE SIDE VENTED BY SEARS! BOUGHT EXTENDED WARRANTY AS IT IS BUILT IN USA FROM PARTS THAT ARE NOT ALL USA MADE. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO USA PRODUCTS.
I think this dryer is great. My clothes have all been dry everytime the buzzer goes off. It's large capacity is great. The lint filter is on the cheap side, but is always full of lint, so it must be doing its job. This dryer is everything that I need.
Like I said above, I do like this dryer's features and it does a great job drying effectively, but, I've only had it 3 months and the timer switch is already going bad. The timer switch is so loose it's about ready to just fall out of the panel. I live alone and I only wash about 3 maybe 4 small loads of clothes a week. I feel that quality control should check their products more thoroughly before shipping out to sell. I am also a person who takes care of my belongings, so it's not like I've mistreated it or anything.
This is the worst unit we've ever had, four repairs in the first year...little over a year old and will have to replace it soon...
This dryer is a good value for the money paid (which was significantly less then the GE retail). It is not "pretty" but is perfect if tucked away in a laundry room. It is rock solid. Super quiet! Dries the clothes quickly with a few dry options. The drum is huge and can hold a nice chunk of clothes. The door opens completely and can be switched to the other side if needed. It is perfect for our "function before beauty" family of 6!
We needed a new dryer as the old one gave out after 18 years of service. Wasn't sold on GE as manufacturer but the price was right and I figured it would dry the clothes. I also figured that anything had to be quieter than our last dryer at the end of it's life but I was wrong. This dryer doesn't have the thumping of the old one but it has more machinery noise just to operate. I am sure I will get used to it, but I would never have purchased this dryer if I could have run it at the store.
I am going to hate see this dryer go. It is AWESOME!! But the washer is AWEFUL so the set is going to be returned
