Description Specifications
Goodyear 215/65R16 Focuses on Comfort and Handling
Designed for drivers of mid-range and upscale sedans, coupes and vans, the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring 215/65R16 tire provides a combination of comfort and handling in most weather conditions, including light snow. A premium tire, the ComforTred Touring line was awarded the Consumers Digest Best Buy Seal, signifying its value to consumers.
The comfort lies in a special layer in the Goodyear 215/65R16 tread that acts as a super shock absorber, providing up to 20 percent more cushioning than standard passenger tires. Double-layer ComfortEdge sidewall supports balance added ride comfort with handling. The ComforTred isn't just about keeping things pillowy soft, though. There's also tough traction-control features, such as wide grooves that help move water away from the tread and provide improved grip on wet roads. It all comes packaged with an 80,000 mile warranty that guarantees that these are the last tires your car will need for a long time.

Features:
  • Recommended by Consumers Digest as a Touring Tire Best Buy
  • Extra Comfort Tread Layer - Helps provide, on average, 20% more cushion than many standard passenger tires
  • ComfortEdge Sidewalls - help provide a versatile balance of comfort and handling
  • Asymmetric Tread Design - helps provide refined handling and confident wet traction
  • Wide Circumferential Grooves - help evacuate water away from the tread for enhanced traction on

The Goodyear Assurance Tire provides a very comfortable ride.

The Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Touring Tire provides an extremely smooth and comfortable ride, and is very reasonably priced.  I highly recommend this quality tire to everyone, but to especially those that may have a physical impairment that could be aggravated by tires that are not made to absorb bumps and vibrations from the road.  I had Goodyear tires on my mini-van when I originally purchased it and experienced no vibration at all.  Long and short trips were very pleasant .  When it came time to replace the tires, I purchased a different brand of tire that was reported to be equal to the Goodyear tire.  That was a huge mistake I will never make again!

Needless to say, it was not.  I immediately experienced severe vibration which aggravated the arthritis pain in my lower back and hips.  I felt every bump and the car was difficult to handle.  It was like driving a truck that had a mind of its own! Having just replaced the tires on my van, I didn't think the tires could be causing the problem, so I had the alignement checked and the shocks replaced.  Several hundred dollars spent and still no comfortable ride.  My van had acquired some mileage on it by this time, so I just reconciled the fact that it was riding so rough because of the age of the van.

Just recently, I needed another set of tires.  Due to my physical impairment, the Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Tire was recommended.  I was assured a "vibration-free" ride and ease in handling my van.  That is exactly what I have now.  The ride is so smooth and my van handles with ease.  It drives and feels wonderful. . .like I am floating on air!  What a pleasure it is to get into my mini-van and drive now.  It feels like I have a brand new car, and I have 120,000 miles on my van! The Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Touring Tire means quality and it will always be my first choice from now on!

Poor longevity

I purchased a set of four 2 1/2 years ago for my 2002 Volvo Cross-Country (XC70). They handle reasonably well both on dry and wet roads, and have enough traction for hills in light snow. They came with an 80,000 mile warranty. However, the tread is now down to about 1mm after less than 40,000 miles. The Goodyear tread warranty will only pay to pro-rate buying another Goodyear product! 80,000 miles is about as long as any manufacturer warrants a tire, thus for me there is no point in buying another Goodyear tire since long tread wear is important. Over the last four decades, I've had much better wear with tires of other manufacturers.

Good Tire

We've had these on my wife's minivan for a little over a year now and have had no issues. They handle well and the tread still looks new (15,000 miles later). I'll be looking for these again the next time I need tires.
