Very good quality

We are pleased with the solarium & my husband (former sheet metal mechanic) was very impressed with how everything lined up during assembly. You really need 3 people for the assembly and it should be assembled on a level surface. Have been using the solarium for several weeks now and are enjoying it a lot.

The 12 X 12 Hardtop Solarium

|

I agree with a previous reviewer that the instructions were lacking and it caused a lot of time delay getting the solarium put together that could have been avoided if someone had revised the instructions. A lot of time was spent trying to figure out how things went together. I do like the solarium, although it is too hot in the middle of the day for my area (for the Summer), there are hours that we cannot go in it. As for the quality of it, I wish that there was more sturdiness to the windows, but I wonder if that is a permit issue, that maybe they cannot be a little more like regular windows. I know that the price would be much higher also, if the material was sturdier, so I guess that it was good at this time for me, that it didn't cost more than it did.

Nightmare putting together!

|

Well I just completed the walls and unfortunately I have 5 broken parts that need to be replaced. I agree with others that the instructions are a nightmare. Quality seems good minus part O and O1 that are plastic and crack easy while installing. You also have to bend some metal parts to make things fit. I can't start the roof until other parts get ordered but so far this is my experience.

Very Good, but could be even better!

This gazebo is a good quality product that assembles quite nicely. The framework seems quite good quality. The size is bigger than expected for a 12X12 gazebo. The gazebo went together with 2 of us assembling it in about 9 hours total over 3 days (It's very hot here in Florida and working more than a few hours in the morning is nuts). You do have to be careful to ensure the corrugated polycarbonate roof panels are inserted properly in the slots. It's easy to miss-align them so they do not seat properly. If all parts are seated properly, the gazebo does NOT leak. I can only assume the person that states it gets wet has not seated the roof panels properly as ours is leak proof through several very hard rains. The only place it leaks is across the floor because ours is assembled on a paver patio with many cracks to allow water to flow between the pavers.

There are a couple of things that would make this an even better gazebo and I hope either Sears and /or the manufacturer reads this.

1) although reasonable, the instructions could have given more detail on the orientation of various parts. It did take some time to figure out how some of the parts should be orientated when aligning with the other parts.

2) I would have much preferred having a plexi-glass or polycarbonate glass instead of the plastic film in the windows and doors. This would make this gazebo much more pet friendly. With the windows opened up, the window frames are pretty protected, but the doors are totally plastic film that will not stand up to a pet. No see em screens would have been even better than the mosquito screens included.

3) change the doors to also give a window that opens as does all the windows.

Although with all the windows and doors closed it gets quite warm inside for summer in Florida, with the windows left open it's not bad. During winter this will make it pleasant inside during 50 and 60 degree temperatures.

Overall we are very pleased and will enjoy using our gazebo for hopefully many years. A couple of minor changes would have be very welcomed and would have rated this gazebo a 10.
