After researching grills for a month, I just bought and assembled this one. Agree 100% with the first review, everything it said. A couple things not mentioned though. There is barrel nuts embedded in each piece for every fastner, no trying to hold a nut and start a bolt. With a grill in this price range, I was afraid that the parts (and holes for fastners) would not line up but was pleasently surprised. Every hole lined up perfectly. Very close tolerance engineering makes the assembly a breeze. Instruction manual was high quality and accurate, and as other review said a couple hard to get to screws, but not impossible. Real 304 stainless burners tell me they may very well last the 10 years the warranty states. Magnet fell right off of them (can't say that about your Weber Genesis). And the grates are above ave coated cast iron. My only complaint - only three of the casters swivel (?). One is stationairy so you can't move the grill straight fore and aft. A must for me since I slide it in and out of an outdoor kitchen area. To move it you have to pivot and push, pivot and push. A trip to the hardware store for a 4th swivel caster fixed that. HB really missed the boat on this, but a cheap fix. Packaging was engineering art in itself. Don't take it out of the box if you have any plans or returning it. You'll never get it back in (although the manual even shows you how to do that, too). I did have one side panel out of the box that had a pretty good kink in the middle. But with 30+ years in the car business, I was able to straighten that out pretty quick. And with four main burners that close together in a fairly small area, heat should be very consistent across the grades, no cold spots. Every other grill I looked at only had three bruners in this size grill, many only had two. And I also LOVE the elevated work areas, but concerned that because of it I will not be able to get a rotiserie to mount up. Haven't checked to see if it is an available option.The bent panel and the stationary caster are the only reason I did not give it a five. Haven't fired it up yet, that will be my next review. Other review said it only got to 450 degrees, that concerns me a bit with four high BTU burners (plus a fifth for the wood chips) it should get hotter than that. We'll see... Overall, well engineered grill with components you can't find in other grills in this price range. Even a couple pure stainless steel fastners going into areas where they are exposed to heat. I live in FL, not a big fan of stainless exteriors. Unless you pay $2000, it will pit and rust. Everything on this is painted or powder coated except the control panel area. Just what I was looking for, and with maint I expect it will still look new for many years. If you are looking for a grill with good components and not so concerned about it being flashy, this is the one. Trust me - I did the research.

assembler beware

Just finished assembling this grill. I've previously assembled grills for **********, but I've never encountered an assembly as involved as this grill. The design seems excessive in some ways as well: I'm baffled by the purpose of the "tank baffle bar." If its supposed to fill the perfectly good space where I'm going to put my spare tank, then it does and excellent job! (I left it off.) I also have no use for the tank holder. What does the designer expect me to try and do with this grill that i need a gigantic wire to hold the tank in place? I'm not off-roading while cooking, and IF I move the grill, I take the tank out first anyway. All the previous comments about a few tight spots to put the screws in are accurate, but that's pretty normal for most grills. I can think of two other brands that are much easier to assemble, but the boxes those come in are so big that a truck or SUV would be required to take the box home.

Hamilton Beach 4 burner Grill

Love this grill! My old one was kaput and I searched reviews for a reliable well-reviewed grill prior to making the purchase. My husband put it together in a couple of hours and I am more than happy with the product including the smoke drawer. Easy to light & use.

GREAT grill!

Had this grill for three weeks now and have used it about 10 times. Overall assessment is that this is a great grill. Very solid, creates sufficient heat, versatile, just a good product. Took about 2 hours to put together with two people. Some screws in tight spaces, but overall very happy with the engineering. Heavy lid, very sturdy construction. Grates are good, love the vegetable baskets, thermometer works very well and gives you all the info you need, each burner has its own igniter (piezzo system, so no battery needed), the side burner heats up very high. Great looking grill. Have not used the smoker yet. Am overall very happy with this product. The only issue I have found is that I have had to deal with more flare up on this grill than on my previous ones. But as I am learning how to control the heat on the burners, that is decreasingly being an issue. Yes, the gas bottle holder is not tall enough to hold a standard bottle. But as bottle stays in place by itself in the bottle bay I don't care about that. Yes, and the back is open, but with a cover, you should not have an issue with that either. For the price a rock solid grill that you will really enjoy.

Hamilton Grill

Not a top of the line grill, but it does it's job! LOVE the Smoker for flavoring & the the height. I Hate that the back lacks covering to keep things dry. I would still recommend it until, just make sure to order the "HAMILTON" grill cover that fits!!! Taller than a normal grill.

Hamilton Beach 4-Burner GrillStation

I am in my 50's and always thought Hamilton Beach made blenders and kitchen appliances only. Well, to my surprise they make great gas grills too. I found this online at Sears. I have had a Charbroil Commercial Series grill for about 7-8 years now and this one just blows Charbroil away(had to replace burners 4 times because of rust and stainless lid rusted - never sat in weather). Cast iron/porcelain is not all that great. This grill was not bad to put together considering I was doing it in 90 deg weather w/high humidity and a little help it took about 3 hours that day. Instructions were good and easy to follow. I am impressed with the stainless burners and the quality Powder Coat of the double panels. I have used this grill numerous times since purchase about 2 months ago and I am very pleased with the even heating and high temperatures it can get to. It went to almost 600 degrees the first time I fired it up and I seasoned the grating with bacon. I have also smoked steaks/burgers and a pork butt to my perfection. The only thing I have to nit-pick on this grill is that you should put your wood chips in water overnight because with the smoker burner on low it gets to hot and burns the chips up quickly. Overall I am very pleased with the performance and durability of this grill. The stationary wheel I have seen in other reviews is not a problem with me as I do not keep it in a tight place which I could see being a problem for some.

Of all the grills we reviewed in this price range we are very happy with the purchase of Hamilton Beach 4-Burner GrillStation Gas Grill. The heavy lid was the main selling point it really does a great job keeping the heat inside. We also enjoy using the smoker. It is a great additional feature other grills did not have in this price range. Read instructions on how to use the smoker. It takes a little longer prep time in cooking, but it makes a difference. The exterior lid thermometer is well detailed and gives additional guidelines for smoking, searing and grilling zones. Also like the under storage and doors. This grill is not at all flashy, but for the price it is relatively well-built and a decent value and performer.

Hamilton Beach Gas Grill Issues

I ordered this grill online and picked it up at the Sears store. The unpacking and assembly instructions were clear. The hardware was packaged and labeled nicely. Two people made the assembly go smoother. I had the following problems: 1) warming basket bracket mounting holes were too small for the 4 mounting screws to mount the bracket, 2) tank holder was too short to hold the standard 19 gallon propane tank, 3) standard non-swivel caster interferes with the grill mobility should you need to move it around, and 4) burner warranty is not 10 years, but 5 years. I emailed Hamilton Beach about items 1,2,and 4. It took 6 days to respond. On 1) the response was I using the correct screws and that the screws are supposed to fit tightly and 4) the burner warranty is for 5 years not 10 years and Sears would notified. No response to item 2) inquiry, if a longer tank holder was available. That's it for the response. I drilled out the bracket hole so I could mount the bracket and had to pick up hardware nuts and lock washers that fit the original M4x10 screws. I wired the tank holder to the tank and frame and I will try find a swivel caster to replace the non-swivel caster. Cannot do anything about the warranty, although it was one of the main reasons for buying this grill.

Hamilton Beach 4 plus burner.

For the sale price, this grill seemed worth a try. All the grill space and heat that we need. Advertised as a 4 burner, it really has 4 regular grill burners, one burner for smoking wood chips then the side burner for pans. One use for ribs seemed to cook nicely. Also did Asparagus on regular grates as well as the veggie trays. I was looking for a sturdy set of grates and these seem durable. The assembly was a bit long but didn't have the space option for transporting it assembled. Seems structurally sound and looking for lots of meals from it.

Good basic grill with modest smoking ability

We've had this just 2 days and writing this so there is at least 1 review. Assembly went smoothly but took 3.5 hours. Instructions are beautifully printed and very clearly worded / illustrated; great quality hardware!. A few screws are in tight spaces, I used a screw driver with a removable handle. You build the base and then set in the center grill unit. We took off the top BBQ lid (2 nuts) and that made it much easier to lift into place. Put the top on next because once the sides are on you won't be able to re-attach it. The unit was easy to light (remember to hold in the burner knob because this turns on the gas to the lighter jet - powerful). It is the mechanical one spark per turn kind of lighter. At full on with all burners it came up to a nice 450 degree searing temp. Low temp was also good. The wood chip drawer doesn't come quite all the way out, sticks a little when hot, and only holds a handful of chips, It does add quite a bit of flavor easily but won't fill the grill with a cloud of smoke like my old Weber with mesquite charcoal. You sill probably want to remove the little stop screw at the back of the drawer so you can remove it completely. (Note this also means a child could pull out a super hot drawer with burning chips!) The side burner puts out a lot of heat and brought water to a boil very quickly. The finish seems really tough and we appreciate the more modest appearance. The extra height is perfect (my sore back from lifting it out of the van :-) I love the ease of adding the smoking chips flavor. Never used a grill with a searing unit so don't understand how useful that is.
