Ingersoll_rand 20 gal Air Compressor

This compressor is much higher quality than my old Sears air compressor that had a cast iron belt driven pump. It is quieter as well. The water drain valve is much better quality iand easier to use. It comes with a nice quick disconnect air hose fitting already installed. The included synthetic compressor oil allows it to be run at 100% duty cycle. I have no complaints about it at all and would buy another. Note that Sears has it listed as weighing 90.7 pounds. It is actually 90.7 kg or 200 pounds. Sears sent me a UPS tracking number when it actually went by truck freight.

Beware of Ingersoll-Rand motor sparking issue

This was a Fathers Day present from my two little boys to replace my 20 years old 15 gallon craftsman oil less compressor. I was so excited that I had to use it right a way to fill up some bicycle tires for my two boys. The compressor was quiet compare to my oil less unit. I used it for about ten minutes and put the unit away. The next day I decided to use it to run a air ratchet. It was going great for about 20 minutes than suddenly my air ratchet started to slow down and the compressor did not kick on. I checked the breaker on the motor and it was tripped. I pressed the switch down to reset the breaker and the motor started up but was sparking. The breaker tripped again. I pressed the breaker switch again and the same thing happen again. I have about 30 minutes of use out of this compressor and it is broke already. I expected this thing to last longer than my oil less unit which I had to fire up to complete my project. After some searching around on the Internet this seems to be an issue with IR compressors. If you are interested in this compressor please research IR motor sparking issues before you purchase IR compressors. This is an expensive part to replace if fails after the 1 year warranty runs out.

Nice compressor

This compressor is definitely a step up from any store brand. 100% duty cycle and a cfm rating that will handle most homeowner or shade tree mechanic tools. Much quieter than the cheap direct drive compressors. With a couple inexpensive mods its even quieter. On sale the value can't be beat!

Very quite but low quality

I had to return two of these because of quality problems. One had a defective motor that had to be constantly reset and the other had a regulator air leak out of the box. Sears was nice enough to take back both units and refund my purchase.

worked great right out of the box

bought this compressor to go with a plasma cutter, it had minimal set up requrements, it had no leaks after letting it build to max pressure and is still holding max pressure. I will have to put in a seperate breaker and outlet for it to make sure it has the proper voltage and amps to run good, it is very quiet for an air compressor, I reviewed alot of compressors and this one was the best for the price and what i needed it for. I do plan on using it for other jobs such as impact wrenches and other air tools.

Would buy again, but hopefully won't need too.

Quiet, doesn't leak air, small enough to stick in the corner and keeps up with most projects.

Excellent Top Quality

This is a great little compressor fills up quickly and man it is quite. Replace a red oil-less compressor and its like night and day difference my only complaint is the tank is a little small kicks on right away when using most of my tools but it keeps up just fine. Great tool defiantly worth the money

work good just for first year

It work well during the first year (light duty) then the electric engine stopped working, the warranty covered the damage but I had to wait for more than six weeks, the repair was made in a workshop of Ingersoll Rand located in Miami, the customer service was lousy but finally delivered, a week after the clock air pressure controller is broken, so what else can I say?

Impressive, high quality compressor

I needed a larger compressor for a plasma cutter. I had 6 gallon Chinese special that was noisy, leaked and generally sucked. This IR compressor is a dream. After adding the oil and checking it out, I plugged it in to standard 110 outlet and it filled to just under 150 PSI in a few minutes. After a couple hours of use in the garage and several speedy recharges (motor is rated for 100% duty cycle), I left it for a week. A week later it had not lost a single pound of pressure. High quality tools are a joy to work with and the sub $500 price on this unit is a steal.

Professional Grade For Homeowner

I got this to replace a similar size homeowner grade (red) Craftsman compressor that went to the scrap heap after 3 years of light (2 - 3 times / Month) hobby use. This IR one is oil lubed and much quieter. It will probably be passed down to my son (or daughter).I have another twin stack oil-lube Craftsman that's portable that runs great after 6 years, but Sears doesn't list that model any more. Newer model twin stack is evidently not the same quality.

Super compressor

Bought this for garage use. Replaced a non-oiled unit. Arrived and had assembled in about 30 minutes. Added the oil, plugged it in, flipped the switch and.............I could not believe my ears. It was so quiet compared to my old unit. Filled the tank and shut off in no time at all. I was really amazed. Hooked up some air tools and had more pressure and volume than I ever had before. Motor kicked in and built the pressure back up and shut down quickly. So quiet! Wonderful product; and it is portable!!

IR Compressor gets the job done

For it's size this compressor will power all my pneumatic tools with no problem. It is quiet and keeps the air supply to the tools, so no waiting for pressure build up. I've used it extensively now and compared to other compressors of same size I've owned, this one far is superior. Well within budget for those looking for a quality compressor.
