Pretty straight forward. Pump a little cheap so upgrade pump and plumbing as a good pump will collapse ribbed hosing for the smaller volume pump that comes with it.

Kids are having a blast.  So far the pool appears to be sturdy and well made.  While it only took two of us about an hour to assemble the pool, several hours of hard work was needed to level the ground ahead of time.  It is absolutely critical to have a level surface.  We had a 1" high mound in the middle of one side of the pool and after filled it appears that the top side is slightly bowed in.  Not enough to empy the pool but we do intend to remedy when we do have a reason to empty the pool.  The ladder is flimsy.  We ended up building a stand alone deck on one end of the pool with a traditional stainless steel ladder attached.

The real deciding factor for us was the price and free shipping.  Living in Hawaii, shipping is usually a deal breaker for larger items.  Shipping to our local Sears for free closed the deall.

Way to deep for young children, this is NOT a kiddie pool. Does take more than 2 people to put it up but its easy. The ground needs to be LEVEL or the sides start to buckle in. The ladder is not as sturdy as I had hoped for, but thats the only negative with this package. Make sure you order replacement filters since you need to change them out every week or two. Im very happy with the purchase.

Best purchase I've ever made!

I got this pool 2 years ago. And used the pump that came with it, then bought a 4000gph pump the next year and maintence has never been easier! This pool is sturdy and stable. I was nervous on buying one cuz its my first large pool but I am so very glad I did! It's made my get togethers a blast and I take it down every winter and put it up in early June, late May. it's super easy! I totally recommend it! Easy set up and take down,maintenance is easy,such fun fits a lot of ppl. And amazing for summertime!,,

I have owned this pool for years. The inside lining still looks like the day we bought it, the pump is still keeping the water clean. The metal components are not rusted at all the are still perfectly painted gray like the day we got it. It is extremely durable too, we push off of the walls and we own several cats and they haven't managed to bust it yet. The ladder is extremely sturdy, it can hold at least 300 pounds. Overall, this pool will last for probably a lifetime. Well worth the investment.

I like this pool but make sure you have the prep work done and correctly!

I just recently purchased this item and it seems to be a great pool. There is a couple of issues you do need to be aware of. When they say the ground needs to be level they mean it! not even a couple inches off one way or the other. This soft pool will bow in on the sides if you do not get the ground level. When filling up the pool both side bow in until it is almost completely filled up, this is normal and they straighten out as long as the ground is level.

Our family loves this pool. Our kids are preteens and teens. Lots of volleyball (two people to a side) is played. This is not a huge pool but it is perfect for our 3 kids and occasional friends. Set up was easy after the ground was leveled. Took about 1/2hour with four people. Has been up for about a month now...it is very sturdy and the filter seems to be keeping it clean. Very happy with the purchase...love the rectangular shape...

Above ground pools, the affordable family/ adult retreat.

After owning many homes with inground pools and then spending the last 71/2 years without one, what was I thinking? Sure it would be nice to dive into pool and resurface at the other end, but is waiting to save up the money to do so really worth the wait? NO! Our Sears 18 x 9 pool was not only several hundred dollars less then other advertised retailers, it is one of the best upgrades we could have done. Our INTEX swimming pool has become our favorite attraction and we actually look forward to relaxing/ playing in it every afternoon. Easy set up and step by step directions/ DVD made our pool a great decision. Just wished we had thought about it a few years earlier.

Too Big Too Small

this pool is too big for small children,(under 8-9) the depth makes it unsafe and is considered a liability for insurance purposes. My community requires a permanent fence which will cost as much as the pool. Add the insurance premium and it is not worth it for this temporary pool. The pool's demensions(footprint) make it too small for swimming (as opposed to standing and splashing around) if you are over 6. The demensions are exactly 9 X18 as described but my family of 5 is crowded in it splashing around--Contrary to the photo depiction of a dozen or so people. Bottomline, if you are young enough to enjoy the footprint size you are too young for the depth; if you are old enough for the depth the footprint is too small to share; if you are paying for this, the collateral costs should be considered.

what they don't tell you is how to level the ground

my biggest challenge was leveling the ground, the directions say not to use sand, we came up with styrophome, the kind that goes under siding.  worked really well. They also do not tell you that if you are not placing the pool on concreate or asphalte that you need someething hard to put under the supports.  But you live you learn.  Overall, we are very happy with this purchase, the pool is bigger than it seems in the picture.
