This Jenn-Air Compactor seems effective but slightly overpriced.

It seems as if the choices for stainless steel trash compactors are somewhat limited. This Jenn-Air model is somewhat pricey, but it is stylish and compacts well, and has a nice "compress" mode for styrofoam and plastic trash that does not compact easily. The "toe kick" activation switch is also a nice feature, assuming it holds up. This Jenn-Air compactor does not seem as sturdy as the Whirlpool Gold white compactor that I owned for 12 years (although that model had a problem with the on/off switch for most of its life, even after replacing the switch once). The door on the Jenn-Air seems a little flimsy and it shakes/shudders when you pull it out, and the compactor is not particularly quiet while compacting, but otherwise I have no complaints and would recommend this compactor to anyone looking for a sylish, stainless steel model.
