RATEDJury is still out...
Ordered in 2010. Installer did not adequately seal the area around the unit. When I called to complain, they asked him and he said something about the old air conditioner and existing wood-neither of which had anything to do with their failure to seal the area around the unit. Four calls to Sears for help, installer refused to call, contact me or fix problem. Bottom line, I had to pay someone else to insulate as it should have been when installed.
One year later unit is making a loud, grinding noise and spitting water back into the room. Called for service, took a week to get an appointment. Service man came out - Naturally, unit working fine when he came. Have to wait another week for an appointment - in 86 degree heat.
Need to keep unit on 64 degrees to keep two adjacent rooms (12x18, 12x13) cool . Takes longer to cool than my old 10K Kenmore with higher utility bills. Get the extended service agreement. 90 day warranty is a joke.
Timer is great. Filter is easy to clean. But, once it gets cool, it stays cool. Serviceman said energy saver is only for use when you are out of the house.
