It is a perfect fit for my kitchen. My only concern so far is that when it is running I can hear it. I guess it may take awhile to get used to, but it does keep the food in the freezer frozen and the refrigerator keeps everything cold. The 2 guys that delivered it were awesome - never bumped a wall trying to get it thru a small foyer and up the stairs. It is exactly what I needed to a lower priced refrigerator.
There are several issues. First, the description is not accurate. The freezer does NOT have a light. Second, it is noisy. I work with refrigerators, and this is the loudest one I have ever heard. Last, it stinks! I bought it three weeks ago, and it still emanates a pungent odor.
We have had good fortune with Kenmore water heaters, but not refrigerators. This refrigerator copies the design of a GE model, but has inferior interior parts. It is mechanically sound, but the interior parts routinely break. Our refrigerator is a little more than a year old and the liner has cracked from the weight of the food on the shelves. (the liner grooves hold up the shelves). The crisper drawers have broken 3 times and cost me $79 each time I need to replace them. The retainer bars on the shelves are also inferior and I have also replaced them three times. Yes, this refrigerator will cost you a little less up front. However, in just one and a half years year, I have had to pay over $250 in repair parts. At this rate, in 4 years, I will have effectively paid double for my refrigerator. Do yourself a favor, don't buy a Kenmore refrigerator. It will cost you more money in the end.
Wired shelves is difficult for some bottles, it spills easily. Veg storage half of the size of the same kind of refrig. because of the space is taken by motor built in the back. *** The worst part is it is not working right, lots of time, the freezer is not cold enough or stop working , the ice pop ,ice cream and stuffs inside melt, then it works a bit , on and off like that. Not sure if it is defected or not??
I purchased this refrigerator 07/2013. It stopped working several months ago. It is now 05/2015.The refrigerator was very load. And I received the wrong color. Not to mention the dents in the refrigerator.
We have a very small space but this product fits perfectly and has lots of room. The shelved are adjustable, which is great. I highly recommend this product.
Sears Kenmore is a reliable brand appliance. We like the top freezer style. We will most likely eventually upgrade to stainless steel. This is a good running appliance.
Bought this fridge for a newly completed "Man Cave" Purchased Aug.1st 2014. Stopped working March of 2015. Very disappointed!
Beware... We bought this frig for our garage. The frig is fine but the freezer does not work when the temperature drops below 55F. The repair man said they have a 'kit' that will keep it on until 45F. Not so good. We can't return it... Poor design.
The refrigerator is nice and roomy. Easy to clean, adjustable shelves.
Great looking appliance, with all the needed features. Big freezer.
Great product excellent value for the price
Bought this to replace an old downstairs fridge that went out. This is a far superior refrigerator for an extremely reasonable price. It's a little noisy, but not that bad. Good design inside. Very pleased!
Bought this as a spare fridge last fall and within eight months the door to the freezer exploded and ruined our organic meat. The Sears repair man had never seen anything like it before- moisture had gotten inside the seal and the door just exploded. Since it was still under warranty they brought us a new freezer door yet would not make it right for the other damage caused. If you ever buy a Kenmore product to be prepared to spend a ton of extra money on food coverage plans because their appliances are made very cheap and the regular coverage is terrible.
Would not be able to live with this if it was in the kitchen: very noisy. Seems to work well. Hopefully noise is not a prediction of future reliability.
The fridge is perfect if you are looking for a basis, no frills fridge. Perfect garage fridge. As this fridge was purchased for an industrial setting, the wire racks are perfect. If I was purchasing the fridge for home, I would probably go with the same fridge but with the no spill glass shelves, however the cost of the fridge would go up by $100.00 to $150.00. The fridge runs quiet and it cools as expected. If you have a tight budget or are looking for a garage fridge, this fridge will serve your needs.
Great fridge for great price!
I've bought 3 of these in the past and just bought another one, when you don't want problems you want basic and thats what this fridge is. You get ice makers and buttons, you'll be having more service calls cause there is more to break down. I do think these are a bit louder but all the kitchens in my places are far enough away from the living space it don't matter. So far in over a year only one of the fridges wasn't getting cold enough for the span of a couple weeks that I'm aware, I'm not sure what the tenant did to fix it, but she did have too much stuff in the freezer, that might have been it.
With only a small space to put a new fridge I was pleasantly surprised how much room this had inside. It's performance has been great and it's also really easy to clean.
This is a very basic fridge. It's spacious for the money I spent. If you calculate dollar per cu.ft this is the winner. One thing I don't like about it is the gap behind the wire shelves. Beer won't fall through the gap but doesn't sit well either. Of course I am not going to spend $200 more to get the bigger one (20.6 cu.ft) with glass shelves for a garage fridge mainly for beer and other drinks. This one servers its purpose, especially for the price.
Loudest fridge I've ever had! Living in a rental and would not have picked the bottom of the line appliance. Can't seem to get the fridge to 37 degrees. And believe everyone else when they say that it is LOUD!!! If it were me I would gladly return it and pay more for a quieter model!!!
