Kenmore Dishwasher

I installed this unit about a month ago and I am very pleased with it so far. It does an excellent job for the price! For all the people who write negative comments about it: if you want a better dishwasher, they pay for a more expensive one! Bottom line is that it works great, it's quiet and it cleans well. The ONLY negative thing that I would say about it is that it seems like it takes forever for it to complete a cycle but oh well.

Does not clean

This dishwasher doesn't get dishes clean, even though I am using the recommended tablets and rinsing agent.  Very disappointing.  Also, installer had to come back 3 times to fix a leak and never got it done.  Had to have my son fix it.

Great for the price

We recently purchased this dishwasher because our old one started to leak. I believe that for the price and quality of dishwashers this is all you really need. The added options you can add to a dishwasher are extensive, but for a simple quality product with some added bells and whistles I think that you would very pleased.

Kenmore 24" Built-In Dishwasher

Works great wish they include the water line attachment that you don't know it doesn't come with when you purchase it. You spend all that money and you can't include the water hook up????

Good basic unit with few frills

I've had this dishwasher (in black) for almost 3 years now, and it's a solid 4-star unit.

1. It's not fancy, don't expect it to be amazingly quiet or have a ton of cycle options. I can hear this unit in my living room but it doesn't require you to turn up the TV. At 54dbs, it's probably 1/3 the noise of the 1980's KitchenAid it replaced.

2. I always use the Smart Wash cycle, it uses an optical sensor to measure how dirty the dishes are, and how many are in the unit. Expect this cycle to run 2 hours MINIMUM, including the 30 minute dry time. For me this makes no difference, I turn it on and leave the house, usually.

3. Rinse Aid is definitely recommended, when I went cheap and didn't use it, all the dishes were sopping wet when I removed them. Rinse Aid is worth the extra $ IMHO.

4. I've had no serious problems with the dishwasher in 3 years besides the rinse aid cap becoming warped and getting stuck, the service contract I purchased with the product covered this, which is good since the cap cost around $35.

5. Most newer dishwashers use a filtration disposer system instead of a grinder, and there is a filter in the bottom that should be checked every month or so, I've never had anything in mine but it's worth checking to be safe.

6. There isn't much need to pre-rinse with this thing, I eat oatmeal out of the bowl and throw it right in, everything gets cleaned 100%, the only thing I do is scrape off big chunks that wouldn't go through the filter. Pre rinsing is a huge water waster.

All in all it's a good unit, my next one will probably have a stainless tub for less noise, but for what I paid it does a nice job cleaning and is quite efficient.

No cord/plug ???

I'm really p'd about no AC plug with the unit and that it has to be purchased separately. Until now, I didn't think SEARS was so cheap...
The washer is just 'okay'. Average. I don't understand how it can be energy complaint when it runs 4 hours on the normal cycle.

Great dishwasher value

I put this dishwasher in our apartments. I buy the 5 year warranty and assume I will be replacing it every 6 or so. The dishwashers so far have survived and pleased the tenants.

pleased with purchase

I purchased this dishwasher to replace one that we had for 20 years. I purchased this machine online without even seeing it. I have been very pleased with this purchase. It is quiet and does an excellent job of cleaning our dishes. Very proud of my purchase.

Dishwasher

The only thing that bothers me about my new dishwasher is I don't think it dries well. There's condensation on the inside of the door when I open it.

So nice...

Pros- it is really quiet, seems to do a good job cleaning dishes and didn't break the bank to do it; we've been without a dishwasher for a long time and this has some great features over our last machine.

Cons- long running cycle and you do want to use the rinse liquid to cry a nice clean job in glassware

STAY AWAY FROM THIS MODEL....PERIOD!!!

I cannot tell you enough what a lousy piece of junk this machine is. Sears should be embarrassed. No wonder why they need a holding company to buy their brand and our local Sears closed after 30+ years. Let's start from the beginning...shall we?

We bought this POS almost 2 years ago (well, this version's older brother). Almost within weeks, one of the glass rack clips broke and we could not get it repaired. So...I guess we can live with that (my thoughts). Afterall, we have three kids under the age of 8 and it could have been something we did.

There is a constant odor that we can never identify. Since, there was a rack wheel that broke cleanly off through normal wear. We cannot keep from getting the bottom rack from constantly getting off track and NOW...to end all that beats all...apparently, the buttons only work now when they want to. This temperamental piece of **** cannot "sense" our fingers touching the buttons. And, none of the LED lights work either. Or, one light is constantly on and none of the others work. AND, what the **** is THAT SMELL!?!?! And, yes, we have cleaned the filter repeatedly. SEARS...you're an embarrassment!!! 2 years and now I have to probably go and buy another one....Not shopping you guys ever again...especially since you closed in our town as well. Cancelling my credit card, too. Oh, and this is on top of the piece of **** vacuum I got from you as well. Later dudes!

No more rust!

The old dishwasher still worked but the dish racks didn't live as long. This looks like it will be much better- functional and at a reasonable price for a gift to kids. Thanks!

Great dishwasher

It is very quiet compared to my old dishwasher. I no longer have to turn up the volume on the TV while the dishwasher is running. Also, the installers did a great job.
