works great, looks nice!

We've been without an oven for 9 months, so it's great to have one back again! My only requirement was that it had a storage drawer and NOT a broiler drawer. But this one had so many other pluses; it's a 5.0 capacity, dishwasher-safe grates!!!, power and simmer burner, sealed burners, self-cleaning, and did i mention a storage drawer-(yay more space!) With all that it was stainless steel AND at a price cheaper than ******** with free delivery..we could not pass it up. It looks beautiful! The delivery people installed and hauled our old one away, and made sure i had time to clean up underneth before they put it into place. Checked it over and showed me how everything works! We've had it for about a month now and are not disappointed with our pick! The burners work fantastically!!! The power burner cuts my boil time in half :) The simmer is great for my soups, and the other 2 burners cook WAY better than my old cooktop. And the oven is outstanding!!! The outside barley feels warm, we have little kids(2,4 and 6 years old) and they are always wanting to help out in the kitchen, so this is great for little hands that don't know any better...esp the door lock feature, great peace of mind!!!

The Kenmore Gas Range requires Service even on the first Day!!!

This purchase has been one that I would not wish on anyone and will preclude any additional purchases from Sears for a good long time. It isn't Sears nor the products that they sell, it is the people who work there and show little expertise for which their hired. If I were to be their spervisor their would surely b a change.

I believe that this Range is a pretty good Range but requires considerable adjustments and the people at Sears are NOT willing to provide the necessary resources to accomplish that. It is unbelievable to me that Sears has fallen so far behind in their ability to provide consumers with the necessary resources to satisfy the minimum requirements for their customers.

I will be contacting the store in Terre Haute in the very near future to return the Gas Range so that I can purchase one elsewhere.

Sears refuses to believe that there is a real problem with the oven burner they tell me that it is a result of my inability to convert the burner for LP Gas in a proper manner. I am a retired Civil Engineer and have sufficient skills to accomplish most tasks in a professional and proper manner with no outside assistance. This Range has a Problem with the fire tube burner that can be described as a blockage within the Gas Supply tbe that I am unable to remove. A new replacement burner assembly will be required>

Good Product, Works Well

I have had this Gas Range for over a year now. It has worked well and I have not had any problems with it. I cook some days, not every day so it gets medium use. What I like the most is that the oven holds a consistent temperature, my old one fluctuated temperatures and caused baked goods to not come out well. For a "basic" model I would recommend this.

A lot of new wrinkles to learn, good manuals.

We needed a new range before the old one exploded. Service man suggested replace rather than try to repair. We have used every part of the new range and found it to work extremely well. The burners and their controls, the oven, the broiler, the timer all work well. My wife is happy and that makes me happy.

We love our new self-cleaning gas range

We had this range for approximately four (4) months and works great. Cannot wait to use the self-cleaning feature.

CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS!!!!

This item works fine and I like the simmer burner and power burner options. I am also happy to have the broiler above the top rack instead of in a bottom drawer. There are a couple design flaws. The WHOLE unit gets hot when oven in use, so keep plastics away from the top of stove. Also vent is just beneath the controls... so you get a bit of heat rush when reaching to turn it off. Also.. note the specs state APPROXIMATELY 30" wide which is a total "CYA" because my opening was EXACTLY 30" and the unit was about 1/4" too big!!! We had to squeeze it in which totally scratched the sides. Luckily that was not important to me.. but measure in the store if you have a chance to be certain it will fit.

Kenmore range

Burners, oven & broiler all work beautifully as a new range should. Outside shows every crumb & speck of dust & streaks if not dried after cleaning but that's a small complaint as it works so well.

Okay range with useless door lock

It is a simple and easy to use gas oven range except for door lock function. You can lock the door only when the oven is not in use. Duh? Door lock function and Stop are on the same button.

Here is works.
1. Preheat
2. Put food in the oven
3. Push door lock button(=stop button) and hold it for 3 minutes, it shuts off oven and then door is locked.
4. Try to turn on the oven again but the control panel is already locked as the door is locked.

Am I missing something?

Why would you lock oven door when is not in use?
Is it supposedly be used as a safety box maybe?

Gas Range

The Gas Range has a great look and ease of use. I would prefer if the knobs were placed where a small child would not have the opportunity or chance to turn on the burners.

I knew buying a Kenmore would be a mistake

Sears used to sell quality, but over the years they have majorly declined. I should have known better, but decided to give this model a shot. There were just so many good reviews that I thought maybe they got one right (a broken clock is right twice a day, right?) 5 months later and it's already broken and in need of repair. My previous oven was over 30 years old and no breakdowns (not a Sears product) They're coming next week to (hopefully) fix it, but until then, I can't use it. I'm just glad it's still under warranty. I wish this oven didn't have the digital programming for the oven temp control. It seems all ovens have that feature now instead of turning the **** for the temperature. If something goes wrong with the electronic component for the digital readout, then the oven won't work. Do a google search on 'kenmore oven digital readout doesn't work' and you'll see how many hits you get.

Flimsy

I like the range, But have a couple complaints. I got a good deal when I bought the range on sale. But then found out Sears wanted another $310 to deliver, convert to LP, and install. That would have almost doubled what I paid for it. Why can't Sears offer a gas range than is already set up to use LP gas? I have installed other major appliances, so I did this one myself too and saved all that money. It really wasn't that hard and for sure not worth $310 labor.
I noticed it was built flimsy compared to my old range. After it was installed, I noticed it rattled, a lot. Every time you walked across the kitchen floor or a truck went past, the range would rattle in the area of the clock. I took it all apart and had to put spacers between the flimsy tin to keep it from rattling.

My new range

I like it but they installed an anti tip device and now I can't open
my cabinets because the range sits three inches from the wall now
instead of one inch like the old kenmore

Review of 30" gas range with simmer burner

After my gas range was finally installed, it proved to be worth the wait. I suppose the cleanliness of it has something to do with it, but it operates very smoothly and the oven reaches desired temperature fast. It doesn't have a panel light; that's the only complaint I can come up with.
