Outstanding grill

This is the best grill I've ever had. It has everything going for it. It is beautifully designed, full sized, with lots of stainless steel, four very hot burners, front access doors, and a hood that you or your partner can lift without getting a hernia. Went together like a charm. Fit and finish are superior. Stainless steel hood and huge side shelves that pop up and stay up with one hand, locking securely into place. The grates and burner heat tents are also stainless -- something that is very important if you want your grill to last. These grates and heat tents come out easily and will fit right in the dishwasher if you want them that clean. The grill has lots of cooking area, and does it ever get hot! I like a hot grill to sear meats, but this one will also adjust right down to a more moderate heat as needed. On starting, it heats up very quickly whether you're using all four burners or just two or three. Very uniform heat. Just outstanding all around.

Total lemon

Stay away from this grill.

The electronic ignition failed from day one. I called Sears, but the repair guy did not want to do any work. After I insisted they sent me a replacement for the ignition mechanism, but it still does not work.

As of lately, it smells of gas so I have to close the gas tank every time I use.

This is an absolute lemon. Stay away from it!!

Instant Gratification

I've owned this grill for a little more than a year and have used it about 2 -3 times per week since I bought it. I was VERY happy at first and it really cooked well, although there were two 'hot' spots that cooked faster than the other areas. It stays on the deck and it is always covered up. It worked great until recently when the burner tubes became clogged. I took them out and cleaned them with soap, water and a wire brush - problem solved. During that process, I realized the heat diffusers were rotted. I bought some generic replacements - problem solved. Unfortunately, I also realized that the bottom of the burner box is completely rotted. I expect the grill will last through this year and then I will have to junk it for another new grill which is ridiculous. I won't buy another grill that doesn't have a removable drip pan across the entire bottom of the burner box.

Just the grill I was needing!!

This grill is fantastic. I've been grilling for over 10 years and have yet to use the side burner that comes on just about every grill out there. So I decided to go for a grill without a side burner and this is the grill to get. The folding shelves are very handy for storing the grill and they are very spacious and provide all the room I need. The 4 burners provide plenty of heat and the grates are amazing. The grill is built solid. Definitely a good buy

Igniter Broken

We purchased this grill unassembled because it wouldn't fit in our car otherwise. We spent an hour or two putting it together only to find out the igniter didn't work. We tried a new battery unsuccessfully. There was a supplement in the directions noting that others have trouble with the lighter and we should try placing the wires in different positions. This still did not work. So we spent another hour disassembling it and then driving it back to sears. Don't waste your time or money.

Great grill for the money

I love the fact that this grill is all stainless steel, We have a small patio and really liked the folding side shelves as we would never use a side burner. The cooking space is large compaired to the Weber for the same price. Nice looking grill and no problems so far. FYI they remodeled the folding side shelves from last years model so they are good now.

Poor assembly and customer support

Looked at a number of grills and decided on this one. Good features and seemed sturdy. Had the store assemble it and picked it up at the store. Got it home and tried to use it and found the igniter switch did not work. Looked underneath and the wires had not been connected. Obviously it had not been assembled correctly or tested in the store. Hooked things up and igniters still did not work. Contacted customer service and they said it would be 3 weeks to get a technician out. Took it back that night and got my money back. Multiple customer support issues along the way. Won't go back to Sears.

We use it rain or shine at least three times a week. No issues at all. Eady to assemble, side trays fold up and it's all stainless so it can be pressure washed when needed. Nothing bad to say.

Just what we needed!

Chose this grill because it has just what we needed and nothing more! No extra side burner (which in many years of grilling NEVER got used!) so side panels offer great space for utensils, plates, sauce, etc. Panels fold down easily with no pinched fingers. Looking forward to great cookouts this summer!

some problems

I like many things about this grill that we have now owned for 7 months. Pros: quick ignition, non-stick grate, side shelves, magnetic doors that stay closed. Cons: 2 big issues. Con #1: The flame from all 4 burners have no variation-no matter if the **** is on "low" or "high". Turning the **** down does NOT change the flame at all! Lesson learned and now we only ignite 3 burners and rotate the food constantly. Lost a few chicken breasts initally until we learned that out. Con #2 is that I feel this grill is too shallow underneath the burners. The bottom of the grill under the burners catches on fire a lot. This is our third gas grill in 15 years, so I am not new to grilling. This is the first time I have ever had to routinely take out the grates & burners to clean the bottom metal shell of the grill. I will never ever buy another Kenmore grill. THis one is too much work.

Kenmore Gas Grill

Easy assembly, but the grill doesn't get near Hot enough. The temp. with 4 burners on high will not go above 250 degrees. The spec say it is 48,000 BTUs. My old grill was only 30,000 BTUs and would get temps to 600 degrees. Very disappointed

super grill

This is by far the best Kenmore grill I have owned in the last 20 years.The unit heats up rapidly and cooks efficiently.The folding shelves are great since they give me more room on the deck when the grill is not in use.

Excellent Grill

*Very easy to put together....well thought out and packaged...easy instructions.*They seemed to have fixed the problem that some were having with the side tables. The sliding mechanism is now comes welded to the side table...all stainless.....before, you had to attach it and then had some tweaking. The online manual still shows the old way but inbox manual is up todate. Very large side tables. I didn't want/need a side burner so this was a reason to buy for me.*The cooking grates are heavy duty stainless rods.....A+....one of the main reasons I went with this grill.*I put a timer on the temps....here is what I found.0-400.....2:20 minutes....that is fast0-500.....3:500-600.....6:30it eventually got to 750 and held it.*Make sure the line into the tank is aligned right and twists on far enough. I didn't at first.....I got no flame.....tried it again.... then got low flame...I finally did it right and got all flame.*Cooks even and easy to control.....Hope this helps.
