We've had our range almost ten months, and, for the most part, we've been very happy with it. Initially we had a problem with the four main burners: the quality of the castings was poor. Two of the burners could not be adjusted to burn cleanly, and one of them would not light correctly, as the port that was supposed to direct gas to the igniter was completely closed. The service technician ordered a complete new set of burners, and it took me about 2 minutes to install them myself after they arrived(a simple task, just lift the original castings up, and set the new ones in position.). The new burners are much better, operate correctly, though one has a slight "flutter", that I'm planning to adjust myself, after having watched the technician play with the originals, and I have the necessary tools (It's been months, and I haven't gotten to it, as it's really minor.).
It took a little getting used to the burner controls, as the first position, after ignition, is high, which is the reverse of the range this one replaced. We also haven't really been pleased with the center "griddle" burner, but we haven't used it much, and it probably would just take some getting used to how it heats. We purchased a cast iron griddle to place over it, and my wife has used it a couple of times; the heating is not very uniform, but my wife thinks as she uses it more she'll figure out how to make best use of it.
The operation of the oven has been flawless, and baking and broiling operations have been as we hoped.
This range has been a nightmare. When using the broiler, it gives off the worse fumes imaginable. I had a technician come out and what he found was the insulation in the oven was burning. It was just a matter of time before a fire.****FIRE HAZARD***. He ordered new insulation and the range started doing the same thing when he tested. The most outrageous part was the technicians manager told him just do a self clean and move on. I immediately requested a new range. Assuming that was a faulty range, I requested the same range and thought my troubles were over. No indeed. Still the same issue. So, I will be replacing with a different model. SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!
I ordered this item approx. a year ago and it works great. I have no complaints. I love the convection. It cooks much faster.
The reason it is for sale is because of the heat it expels into your house. When the oven is on the heat that expels from the vent will heat your entire house. It will burn you if you are trying to cook on the stove top and reach for something.
This is the second time I have used the oven. The top element will not light and the convection fan will not work. Glad I spent over 1000$ this piece of junk.
Bought this stove on 3/24/13. On 6/7/13, I had to call the Firedepartment and the Gas company due to the strong gas smell. Turns out the oven was leaking gas and emitting Carbon Monoxide! We had to evacuate our home. I have replaced the stove with another Brand all together, which is to bad - I've always like Kenmore, I pruposely sought out a Kenmore Range, but I would not recommend this particular model at all! Other reviews on here about the leaks as well. Read them.
Still getting used to all the bells and whistles with this range. Used oven warmer, and convection oven all worked well
Range was a nightmare to keep clean. Also had a carbon monoxide problem with the oven! Gas burners were very high on one side and low on the other side of each burner. I replaced this 2 year old stove!
