Gas range, happy with the performance

We've had our range almost ten months, and, for the most part, we've been very happy with it.  Initially we had a problem with the four main burners:  the quality of the castings was poor.  Two of the burners could not be adjusted to burn cleanly, and one of them would not light correctly, as the port that was supposed to direct gas to the igniter was completely closed.  The service technician ordered a complete new set of burners, and it took me about 2 minutes to install them myself after they arrived(a simple task, just lift the original castings up, and set the new ones in position.).  The new burners are much better, operate correctly, though one has a slight "flutter", that I'm planning to adjust myself, after having watched the technician play with the originals, and I have the necessary tools (It's been months, and I haven't gotten to it, as it's really minor.).

It took a little getting used to the burner controls, as the first position, after ignition, is high, which is the reverse of the range this one replaced.  We also haven't really been pleased with the center "griddle" burner, but we haven't used it much, and it probably would just take some getting used to how it heats.  We purchased a cast iron griddle to place over it, and my wife has used it a couple of times; the heating is not very uniform, but my wife thinks as she uses it more she'll figure out how to make best use of it.

The operation of the oven has been flawless, and baking and broiling operations have been as we hoped.

OUTRAGED!!!

This range has been a nightmare. When using the broiler, it gives off the worse fumes imaginable. I had a technician come out and what he found was the insulation in the oven was burning. It was just a matter of time before a fire.****FIRE HAZARD***. He ordered new insulation and the range started doing the same thing when he tested. The most outrageous part was the technicians manager told him just do a self clean and move on. I immediately requested a new range. Assuming that was a faulty range, I requested the same range and thought my troubles were over. No indeed. Still the same issue. So, I will be replacing with a different model. SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!

Stove / Heater for your house

|

The reason it is for sale is because of the heat it expels into your house. When the oven is on the heat that expels from the vent will heat your entire house. It will burn you if you are trying to cook on the stove top and reach for something.

Ridiculous

|

This is the second time I have used the oven. The top element will not light and the convection fan will not work. Glad I spent over 1000$ this piece of junk.

Awful Experience - I could have lost my house.

|

Bought this stove on 3/24/13. On 6/7/13, I had to call the Firedepartment and the Gas company due to the strong gas smell. Turns out the oven was leaking gas and emitting Carbon Monoxide! We had to evacuate our home. I have replaced the stove with another Brand all together, which is to bad - I've always like Kenmore, I pruposely sought out a Kenmore Range, but I would not recommend this particular model at all! Other reviews on here about the leaks as well. Read them.

Nightmare

|

Range was a nightmare to keep clean. Also had a carbon monoxide problem with the oven! Gas burners were very high on one side and low on the other side of each burner. I replaced this 2 year old stove!

Love this Range

|

Range is very attractive, cleans easily and cooks perfectly. I've never used convection but found it to be very useful. Really love the 5th burner and all the power burners, I couldn't be more pleased.

Would not buy again!

|

We have had this range 3 months and already one of the tines from the stovetop grill fell off. The grill was not dropped or abused in any way. The replacement did not match but was clearly made better, thicker material. Now the oven and broiler do not work. We have to have a tech come out to fix it. I am sorry we paid over a thousand dollars for this piece of junk. Very, Very unhappy with this range!

Nightmare to keep the stovetop clean

|

I bought this stove 8 months ago. I like the way it cooks just fine. I hate cleaning the stove top! I usually give it a wipe down once or twice a week and then a good cleaning on Sat. The food gets caked on and looks crusty. The stove looks 8 yrs old instead of 8 month and I have put some serious elbow grease into it. The black shows lots of streaks too. My husband is in the military and we move often and I can say as far as keeping a stove clean this is the worse stove I have ever used.

LOVE LOVE LOVE MY NEW STOVE

|

My husband and I needed to replace our 13 year old oven and I searched high and low for a replacement and narrowed it down to this stove and a similar stove without the convection. As soon as I saw this stove, I knew it was "the one". We have had the stove about a month now and we absolutely love it. Our daughter even loves it too! The only "draw back", was that this stove looked really out of place in my outdated kitchen, so we had to do a little sprucing up in our kitchen so I was not really abel to use the stove as much as I wanted to the frist couple of weeks. But this weekend watch out...

Rejetting of all rangetop burner orofices

|

Non-existent customer service at Sears Outlet. Item had been returned and "retested" but they could not tell us why. No written manual available. Burners would not ignite and burn and the so called "turbo boil" burner would barely boil a small pot of water after 15 minutes. We discovered those two problems were related and all burner orifices required re-jetting .which my genius husband was able to do. So we now know this is why the item had been returned. Now that it works we are very happy with this product. I feel I must say "buyers beware" unless you can get a credible assurance that product works as intended.

Gas range w/Convection Oven

|

Delivered on time by very knowledgeable men; converted easily to LPG; performs beautifully besides looking great. Really like the oval center burner, perfect for griddle. Love the oven, both convection and regular. Entire appliance is simple to operate and very efficient.

So far So Good

|

I am writing a review as to what I know to this point. I have only had this Freestanding Gas Range for 2 weeks. So far I love it, love the looks, have used all the features (except the self cleaner). The top burners all put out excellent and easy to control BTU's, the oven cooks evenly and at temp. the warmer keeps food at a nice even heat.
MY only question is why do all new stoves have the oven controls in the back behind your stove top burners?
I am using the convection oven feature right now cooking a pot roast so that feature I am hoping will cook a nice juicy roast at a faster rate, as per the manual says it will do.
I have gotten many compliments on the look of the stove and I feel it is well constructed and not cheaply put together.

warmer drawer trim has sharp edges delivery "service" left much to be desired- the least they could do is bring various size fittings to connect the gas line -they didnt consequently the install checklist was never completed!
