This Kenmore 5.1 Chest Freezer is Great.

Freezer does a awsome job keeping all my foods frozen and that's with the temp on med. It's small but it holds a lot of food and with food going up in price it just makes sense.

piece of junk do not I repeat do not purchased this piece of junk

I see I am not the only one who has had problems with this piece of junk freezer. Wish I could give this a 0 rating for it doesn't even deserve that. Mine lasted 2 years and like everyone else's the compressor has died on it and of course Sears won't do the right thing and refund everyone who has purchased this piece of junk freezer. I had no warranty, didn't think I needed a warranty on something that should last well beyond 2 years time. I will never ever buy anything from Sears again.

HORRIBLE

After the first year, got a call telling us the energy star guide was wrong so the sent us a check to cover the energy difference $13, and had to call every year that we owned it to get the refund, but by the 2nd year the compressor went out lost food. Piece of junk. DO NOT BUY!!

Only last 3 years.

It is not working after exactly 2 years and 10 months. Repair cost is at least $75 + labor + parts.
Not worth to do this.

Great Freezer

We needed this freezer meet our needs due to a smaller freezer in our new fridge. It meets that need well. It is quiet and keeps the contents chilled at a medium setting

5.1 CT Chest Freezer

This item is a good purchase for small spaces like apartments. Additionally, if only one or two people live in the household, then having a large freezer is unnecessary. Frozen foods needs to be rotated out in a home setting just as they are done in a store setting. Therefore, this size freezer will allow for frozen food to be kept frozen while limiting the amount of space and frozen grocery expense.

This freezer funs quiet and does not appear to come on as often as some freezers. Also, the top of the freezer has a good seal and it acts as a good work surface for unpacking grocery bags or other quick and easy tasks. In short, I am pleased with the purchase lo this good and will recommend it to others.

Great freezer

My favorite part of this product is the ease. Plug it in and within an hour it was freezing! Nice size...I was able to get everything in there I needed! The basket on top is an added bonus!

awesome!

This freezer is wonderful. Love the size. Fits perfectly in our small apartment. Love how I can move the small wired shelf around as well. My husband fishes, so I am able to fill his huge cooler full of ice very quickly while he's at work and have it ready when he comes home!

Quit after 3 years

I wanted to write this review to bring down the rating so other people won't buy this model and lose expensive food when it does! Green light is on letting us know that it's supposed to be working, but lo & behold, everything inside has melted & thawed! What a mess. my last small kenmore freezer lasted for over 20 years so I thought I could trust the Kenmore name. Guess I shouldn't have assumed that!

It won't last long

I just replaced this freezer as the compressor died after just short of three years. I replaced it with the 8.8 cubic freezer which has better reviews. I had the guy look up the date of purchase and it was on 6/14/11, and I'm now replacing it on 6/1/14. No point in the doing the two year service agreement. You won't have a single problem until you open it one day and items are thawing. I would avoid this product.

good freezer

This is a very nice freezer, a good size and all you need for a family of four or more, I have had it for a week and everything has been good so far, keeps everything just as suppose to, and for the price real good got it on sale, and like that it is a Kenmore, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good product at the right price, doesnt take up much room neither.
