This Kenmore 5.1 Chest Freezer is Great.

Freezer does a awsome job keeping all my foods frozen and that's with the temp on med. It's small but it holds a lot of food and with food going up in price it just makes sense.

WILL QUIT AND RUIN YOUR FOOD

As stated in multiple other reviews, the 5.1 cu. ft. Chest Freezer quit after a couple of years use and we just finished throwing out an expensive amount of ruined meat--some of it choice grass-fed beef. Absolutely avoid this product. We will never again purchase a Kenmore chest freezer and will be passing on the warning to all of our friends.

Reviewers may have received a benefit, like a sweepstakes entry or rewards program points, in exchange for writing a review.

Just what I needed.

|

The size is perfect. I just needed some additional freezer space and didn't want to take up too much floor space so this is just what I was looking for and not too expensive.

Poor poor quality - Dies very quickly

|

We purchased this product in 2011 and it died in 2014. Warranty is worthless...product is worthless. Buy a different brand.

Nice deep freezer

|

I just moved into a townhouse and its just me and my best friend. This deep freezer has more than enough space for the both of us. Also the deep freezer does not use a lot of electricity and keeps my food beyond cold. I highly recommend.

3 years one month

|

I had a warranty for 3 years. It lasted 3 years and one month. I didn't get any money from the energy star. I must state, that, I didn't defrost it enough though. The light would not come on when failed. Started having trouble keeping 0 about 1 month before it failed. I worry about the 5 cu foot that has 7 positives.

Poor Quality

|

Had it about 2 years. Compressor went out. Same as everyone else. Was not covered by warranty. Would cost $75 to have a technician look at it. Lost all of the food in it. Took it to the dump. Will never buy another one from Sears.

Not the Sears or Kenmore it used to be

|

2.5 years and shot! Had our previous small, but slightly larger than this one, freezer for about 25 years. Kenmore and Craftsman were names synonymous with American quality - no more!

awesome

|

we needed a freezer but did not want something so big. This product is the perfect size for where we wanted to install it. I also loved the price. I was also able to pick it up that same day.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY

|

If I would have left this review when I first bought the chest freezer it would have been 5 stars. It is a great size, fits anywhere in the house and has plenty of room for storing food. Loved it! I bought the freezer on 09/10/2011 and bought the 2 year warranty with it.

2 years pass and everything is great! Went home today to clean it out to make room for a 1/4 cow I ordered.... everything was rotten! The green light on the bottom right was still on but it isn't cold.

Thought I was safe buying a Kenmore product, thought wrong. And when I called Sears to schedule a service call, it was going to be $75 just to diagnose. The freezer is only $200.

Very disappointed in this purchase.

Only last 3 years.

|

It is not working after exactly 2 years and 10 months. Repair cost is at least $75 + labor + parts.
Not worth to do this.

Great Freezer

|

We needed this freezer meet our needs due to a smaller freezer in our new fridge. It meets that need well. It is quiet and keeps the contents chilled at a medium setting

5.1 CT Chest Freezer

|

This item is a good purchase for small spaces like apartments. Additionally, if only one or two people live in the household, then having a large freezer is unnecessary. Frozen foods needs to be rotated out in a home setting just as they are done in a store setting. Therefore, this size freezer will allow for frozen food to be kept frozen while limiting the amount of space and frozen grocery expense.

This freezer funs quiet and does not appear to come on as often as some freezers. Also, the top of the freezer has a good seal and it acts as a good work surface for unpacking grocery bags or other quick and easy tasks. In short, I am pleased with the purchase lo this good and will recommend it to others.

Great freezer

My favorite part of this product is the ease. Plug it in and within an hour it was freezing! Nice size...I was able to get everything in there I needed! The basket on top is an added bonus!

Alma, It is easy to redeem your points. Select the items you want to purchase and tell the cashier you want to redeem points. You will need your PIN so check the top right corner of this page under Rewards points to find your PIN if you do not know it. The cashier will apply the points you want to use on the transaction. You can also redeem them on Sears.com, Kmart.com and Landsend.com.
