Great grill

Spent several days looking for a new grill. Our 10yr old Kenmore 3-burner with cast iron burners was due for upgrading. This was the perfect replacement. Took about an hour to assemble. Solid, easy to move with the larger 3in wheels. Best part of the assemply, is they simplied it, using the same size screw for 100% of all major assembly and only 3 different screws for the side burner, attaching the battery pack, and the power-pack for the lights. So far, heats up quickly and works quite well. I was a little skepticle on the stainless steel burners as I have always used grills with cast iron, but cook the same. Since this grill is much larger than the old one, need to upgrade my rotissierie and try some cornish hens. Heat control and distribution works very well. My first dinner of pork shish-ka-bobs came out awesome! I like the built-in halogen lights will be quite handy come late fall when your cooking in the dark. For those who tag as a con - need electric - Well DUH! - I wouldn't call that a con, as you picked it for the lights, othewise you would have bought the model without the lights. The ignitors are battery powered. Another feature I like, is the LP tank tray. It slides out and you just drop the tank in, slide back in, connect hose. Very easy, eliminates killing your back trying to lift the tank and set in the grill, the the sales person completely missed showing me that feature.

Total Junk

I have owned this grill for over a year and read the negative comments back then but i took the plunge anyways. The truth is drip pan is too close (bad design)and fires erupt quickly ,the flame tamers rust through in 6 months and cost 40 a piece. Its a pretty grill but its not worth the money due to many flare ups and cleaning nightmare.Just avoid it and save your money unless you dont mind having low expectations and grill life under two years!

Perfect Size and Easy to Clean

|

This grill is easy to clean. It is the perfect size for two or a small family cookout. It will fit on most patios or in a small outdoor shed. I have it in red.

Good grill

|

Overall a decent grill. I have had it for three summers this being the third and as of yet the only issues I have experienced it is hotter on the right side then the left while cooking., The built in lights get blacked out and I cannot clean off the soot, the assembly was a little difficult but after two or three hours finally got it all put together, kenmore cover that I bought for it worked well up until this spring when it finally rotted and was torn away from wind. I have read many of the other reviews and have not had a lot of the problems will complain about. Like the rusting and such. I have no issues with rust at all. It seems to me that with proper maintenance and care the grill should last a very long time.

LOOKS GOOD WORKS GREAT

|

The grill was easy to assemble with just a screw driver and the included wrench. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The bolts and screws were marked and numbered. The firebox and burners were already assembled with the hood attached and the cart and connections were easy to assemble. The stainless grill looks good, is easy to clean, and heats up evenly. The side buner, called a siering grill, also works with a pan on it for cooking outdoors. The entire BBQ Grill looks and feels like a nice quality, especially at the reasonable price. We have used it several times and are very pleased.

To replace few parts will cost you more than the bbq grill

|

I finally decided to buy a better bbq grill since the previous $300.00 kenmore grill caught on fire after I ended up replacing all the burners because of the poor quality. This time I decided to buy a bbq grill with s/s burners. Guess what!!!! Now the problem is not the burners but the heat diffuser that goes on top of the burner. EACH OF THEM, COST $ 45.24. I have to replace 5 of them because they disintegrated. I will never buy another Kenmore grill. This was my 4th Kenmore bbq grill. Does not matter how much you pay for the grill since they will always throw a part that you will end up buying and spending a lot of money to replace.

DO NOT BUY THIS GRILL

|

I read, and ignored the other reviews on this grill, and now I am returning it. The grill is not designed correctly, the burners and the shields that sit on top of them are too close to the grill surface, and worse yet, anything that falls on the shields ends up just sitting there and flaming away, burning your food. I cannot imagine how this grill ever made it past the QA team, there is simply no way to cook on this grill without burning your food.

Problems from day one

|

This grill is problematic. The hood is flimsy, doesn't hold heat if its cold outside, the ignition sparks are hard to control, the doors and gas tank slide are flimsy and don't fit well

Be Careful with this purchase

|

I want to like this grill, but after 20 months I cannot recommend it. The pros... large grill, powerful grill, great searing side unit and lights work well + looks nice. The con... Have had to call my service plan 2X in less than 2 years. The heat diffusers literally melt... twice, The drip pan is nearly shot and it really isn't built to withstand the amount of heat it pumps out. I use the natural gas version so I can only imagine a hotter-burning propane failing even sooner. Poor grill bottom. Shocking given the price for this unit. If you buy it... better get the warranty extension.

Piece of garbage

|

If I could score this a zero I would. If you are looking to purchase the elite grill DON't. It is trash. Cheaply made, the electronic startER is a piece of ****. We have to unplug it. The rotisery does work most times. The welding on the side tray broke on the second use. Save your money and do not purchase this POS. I have only had it for less than a year and cannot wait to get rid of it. I purchased the Stainless grill and it is rusting. Stainless is not supposed to rust. DO NOT BUY THIS GRILL YOU WILL BE SORRY. For $700 I got robbed. I HATE THIS GRILL.

Bad Grill Do Not Purchase!!

|

Wife got this for me 3 Father days ago. The burners and spacers are all falling apart. Cheap materials. I'm looking on line to replace the grill and its expensive to replace these. This is really not for real grillers like myself I grill year around. This is for those families that want a gas grill to sit and warm up hot dogs. Note that I keep my grill covered and clean. But this product is poorly designed and cheap. I'm looking to trash this grill its shame it looks good but once you open it up to use all inside componants are all rusted and falling apart. Just shameful.

Great purchase for the price!

|

I got this Grill as a Mother's Day Gift and I found that with all the burners you can cook a array of foods at different temperatures with precision. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for plenty of room to cook all temperature foods!

Waste of Money

|

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I bought this for my husband for Christmas 2011. We've had it less than 1 1/2 years, and the flame diffusers have completely rusted through and the bottom has rusted out. It has rarely been uncovered, and we live in KS-- not a salty air, humid environment that inspires rust like this. By the time we pay for replacement items, we might as well buy a new grill. Next grill will NOT be a Kenmore.

What is the best cooking range to cook a rare rib eye steak on this beautiful grill?

This depends on how you like your steak. High heat (300-450) and shorter cook time will give you a crisper outside and still give a juicy tender pink center. Low heat (200-300) will give a tender outside as well as a juicy tender pink center. Another tip for grilling steaks is to not flip them often 1 to 2 flips of a steak is plenty. Doing more than this causes steaks to lose their tenderness. Also when flipping steaks do not put them down in the same spot as it will be cooler. Also I just want to say great choice on the ribeye by the way.
