Excellent AC

I bought this air conditioner instead of the regular window unit because my window slides horizontally and it works great. It cools the room within minutes and stays cool after shutdown. My room is small, approximately 150 sq ft. Installation took 45min and wasn't difficult. You will definitely need a 2nd person to help as the unit is ~60 lbs. It runs very quiet and has a timer, remote, energy save mode and digital readout. I definitely recommend this unit to anyone who has slider windows and needs to stay cool.

6/000 BTU window A/C

|

After having two 12,000 BTU window units delivered by UPS damaged, I went to the SEARS store and bought the 6,000 BTU unit as it was undamaged, and there were no 12,000 BTU units in stock.
This 6,000 BTU Unit was easy to install, and works just fine. Quiet enough to sleep, however I do always use ear plugs living close to a highway.
I recommend examining the A/C unit you buy before accepting it.

Lucky to find one in the middle of a heat wave!

|

This is probably not the model I would have bought if there was time to order and wait a week or two. My wife wanted the portable kind which sold out weeks before we wanted it, but she didn't want to go another night without AC in the middle of a heat wave. That being said, I am satisfied with model since it was a good match for our tiny bedroom and will probably save on electric bill since it doesn't put out 10,000 BTU's like the bigger ones. It does make noise as most AC's do, but at least it has a fan only feature which is not as loud if you put it on low. The remote comes with its own round lithium battery. This model is for slider windows, which made it a little easier to install since it comes with a bottom plate that screws into window sill. I actually got a good deal since there were a couple in the outlet area with a few missing parts that i didn't really need. Now it will help for the next round of heat in early October. We were lucky to find this one at 8 pm at a Sears in Carson when every else was sold out. I had it up and running by 10 pm.

Excellent for horizontally sliding windows

|

All our bedroom windows have a sliding frame that slides from left to right. We tried the standard window A/Cs which meant filling in the space above them with plexiglass and storing them from Fall through Spring. We bought two of these A/Cs and had them installed. They come with a panel to fill the space above them and they are permanently installed. They come with appropriate insulation which prevents loss of cooled air and bugs slipping through the unfilled spaces. Our daughter and grandchildren are spending a week in mid-summer and very delighted with the cooling, freedom from bugs, and the quiet operation.

HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE

|

I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THIS ITEM FOR ABOUT A YEAR. I HAVE
COMPARED IT TO OTHER SLIDER WINDOW AIR CONDITIONERS ON THE MARKET. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I DECIDED TO PURCHASE IT. WE ARE VERY HAPPY SO FAR WITH THIS AIR
CONDITIONER. WE WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND.

Excellent AC for the Price

|

Had it for about 2 weeks and it cools down a 220 Sqft bedroom very fast. Installation was straight-forward, all of the necessary mounts, brackets, screws, etc was included in the box.
I find the energy saver function pretty useless as it completely shuts off the fan and cycles it every 10 minutes to determine the variation in temperature. You are better off setting the temperature at mid seventies and leaving the fan on auto. It also has a vent to bring fresh air from outside. I usually leave the vent Open at night and close it during the day.
It uses 450 watts of power with AC on and fan set to high, 50-60 watts with fan only (Measured using Kill-a-watt).
