Cooks faster than a regular toaster oven and evenly every time

I will never buy another toaster oven again. We bought this item in December. This can cook all kinds of things in half the time. We have cooked pop tarts, hot pockets, fries, begal bites, pizza, and more. Everything ends up perfectly cooked, brown on the top and cooked evenly in the inside. If the item fits then we use the toaster oven instead of our conventional oven. We have even tried cooking the biggest pizza that could find. We were able to cook a Digiorno pizza. We could barely close the lid but it cooked the pizza perfectly. This convection oven is so much faster than a regular toaster oven. Depending on the pizza you can have it done in 10-15 minutes. If you use it for poptarts I wouldn't walk away for very long, we made that mistake once. I would recommend this to anyone. It is well worth the price.

Big Trouble Item - Stay Away

In June, 2013 after our old toaster oven died after many years of use, we found this Kenmore toaster oven which was a good size, stainless front which would go with the rest of our appliances and nice looking. All was well until August, when it began to smoke and cook irregularly. We were sent a replacement. We used this oven for 3 months until the time **** broke. They again agreed to send a replacement, which they did after a month and several follow up phone calls. If this one doesn't last, we'll give up and look to put more money into an oven of higher quality. (definitely not a Kenmore). I will say that the customer service people that I spoke to were very professional and helpful. My advice to you is stay away from this oven, and if you can, get a higher quality oven.

Needed a white toaster oven

|

I needed a white toaster oven and it was very difficult to find one. I had a Black & Decker that didn't last long before the top elements stopped working so would only toast on one side. Due to lack of selection, I decided to try another convection toaster oven. so far it seems to be working very well. The only thing I noticed is that when you put things to toast in the front and back, the back items get done much sooner than the front. Other than that, it is working very well so far. Hopefully will last longer than the Black & Decker.

Mixed Feelings

|

This is the second Kenmore convection oven (same model) that I have owned (and not because I loved it so much I had to have another). The first one lasted a little over a year, no problems until one day it started smoking from the side panel. I called Sears and was able to exchange it for a new one. I've only had the new one for about a month, but when it's running it makes these rumbling noises every 30 seconds, loud enough to hear from the next room! The first one I had didn't do this, like I said, no problems at all on the first one until it started smoking. At this point, if the second one can last another 6 months I'll be happy, but ONLY because Sears was nice enough to offer me an even exchange. At $70...I would have at least expected two years out of it.

Kenmore RED 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven

|

For years we had a Kenmore Elite 6-slice Convection? Toaster Oven & pushed it to the limit every day until it fell apart. The newer Elite toaster oven seems to have a plastic covering over the controls & was hanging off of the oven hence the purchase of the 6-slice, NOT Elite, toaster Oven. Besides it was on sale & the $10.00 Birthday coupon forced me to replace the oven--especially since the door had to be propped closed. The lower rack, in my opinion, is to high & it's difficult to fit 2 racks into the oven at the same time. Personally, I do appreciate the red color, the bell works, the inside is clean, metal, & can be wiped down. The glass window is clear & the handle is just the right distance from the oven for a comfortable & safe opening & closing of the door.

Not worth it

|

We needed a small toaster oven for toast, bagels, the occasional chicken nugget or small reheat-grill . This oven worked size wise but forget using it to toast. The analog dial to set the timer is not consistent.
You have to watch everything you put in the oven to prevent burning or
undercooking. If you have it set on toast without the convection fan blowing it cooks unevenly- an edge of the toast-bagel is golden brown the rest is pale white. This oven is frustrating.

Solid

|

This is the first toaster oven I've ever owned. I like the idea that it is a convection oven and will, essentially, do what my big oven does with less utility cost. It is also quite attractive and takes up a small space on my counter.

Great look - poor quality

|

Having been raised on Kenmore appliances, I was thrilled to buy this great-looking convection oven. Shown on-line in only red, the store had a white and black model in stock. The unit was very quiet, easy to operate. The first time I used it (in "Bake" mode) the top of the food was overcooked. Perplexed, because I did not select the "Broil" mode, I did some checking and found regardless of the mode and temperature selected, the top heating elements were full-on. The lower elements (for Baking), barely glowed red. I exchanged oven for a new one, and it did the same thing. There appears to be a design or manufacturing flaw in this model. Sears refunded my money without a problem.

I prefer to do most of my cooking in this toaster oven and all my re-heats/warm-ups...It's easy to use and I especially like time setting.

Attractive Unit. Great function.

|

THE GOOD:
Its a good looking unit which functions as you would expect. I have owned it for 3 months and it still works, but I also don't use it a whole lot.

One cool feature that surprised me is the rubber stoppers in back behind the unit. This rubber stopper keeps it away from the back wall enough so that it doesn't "heat up" the wall its against. I was surprised to see that included and I am glad to have it. That way you can press it against the wall and not worry about being too close.

THE BAD:
The only reason I gave it one star off is because the door is a bit crooked from the factory. The door has about a 1cm overlap with the right edge which means if you lightly shut it there will be a small crack at the top.

I suspect this was just my unit, so hopefully you won't have the same issue. But it wasn't a big enough deal for me to try to return or anything.

Good toaster oven

|

Nice looking toaster over, very good quality. Cooks very evenly and exterior does not get overly hot. Was a little bigger than expected, so have to allow enough counter space.

Love this Toaster Oven. Its big enough to cook 9" dishes in. You can bake, toast bread and do so much with it. We use it every day and I highly recommend it.

Toaster poor performance

|

Toasting bread, bottom side not equal to top and back slices much lighter.

The unit needs a secondary top shield plate to help reduce the heat on top of unit.

Takes too long to toast and you can not tell what temperature knobs are at.

|

I bought this oven based on the reviews I read. I used it for a week and took it back. The design of the control knobs is so poor you can not tell if you have it set to the right temperature therefore things I was baking took much longer than expected and since it is a convection oven it was supposed to cook faster.
Also the toaster took way too long. The final straw was when I tried to cook a pizza. It has a cutout in the back of the oven so it will fit a 12" pizza which was great, or so I thought. The rack does not extend into that cutout so about 5 minutes into baking the pizza the crust flopped and the toppings and cheese dripped all over the inside of the oven.
I ended up getting a great simple toaster oven. I would never get another convection/toaster oven again. It seems that the more options you get, the worse the performance you get too.
