Cooks faster than a regular toaster oven and evenly every time

I will never buy another toaster oven again. We bought this item in December. This can cook all kinds of things in half the time. We have cooked pop tarts, hot pockets, fries, begal bites, pizza, and more. Everything ends up perfectly cooked, brown on the top and cooked evenly in the inside. If the item fits then we use the toaster oven instead of our conventional oven. We have even tried cooking the biggest pizza that could find. We were able to cook a Digiorno pizza. We could barely close the lid but it cooked the pizza perfectly. This convection oven is so much faster than a regular toaster oven. Depending on the pizza you can have it done in 10-15 minutes. If you use it for poptarts I wouldn't walk away for very long, we made that mistake once. I would recommend this to anyone. It is well worth the price.

Big Trouble Item - Stay Away

In June, 2013 after our old toaster oven died after many years of use, we found this Kenmore toaster oven which was a good size, stainless front which would go with the rest of our appliances and nice looking. All was well until August, when it began to smoke and cook irregularly. We were sent a replacement. We used this oven for 3 months until the time **** broke. They again agreed to send a replacement, which they did after a month and several follow up phone calls. If this one doesn't last, we'll give up and look to put more money into an oven of higher quality. (definitely not a Kenmore). I will say that the customer service people that I spoke to were very professional and helpful. My advice to you is stay away from this oven, and if you can, get a higher quality oven.

Timer Dial gets stuck, won't turn off. OVERHEATS!

|

FIRE HAZARD: Loved this little oven when we first got it, but the timer dial is so tightly wound that it almost never shuts itself off, even after the timer has run out. You simply cannot use this oven safely unless you stand right next to it and manually turn it off. VERY DANGEROUS. Taking it back to the store to get refund. So disappointed!

convection toaster oven

The color and the size is perfect for my kitchen. It looks small but big inside. The setting is very easy to manage. I really like the timer. It will stop at the right time, so I so know it will not overcook. I am enjoy homemade baking without using too much electricity.

i hate it.

|

the interior space is too short. Can't bake or even rise bread in it. Can't make anything really, unless you like the top burned and the middle and bottom undercooked. Fan cycles on and off, so it isn't really even heating.

Surprisingly happy!

|

I've been using this new toaster oven since 2/25/2015 & I'm really happy. When shopping, I noticed that all the included pans are now designed really shallow. I chose this one because it was the least shallow. Its cooks better - and more uniformly - than my old Cuisinart TOB-165. I'm a single person who likes to cook so you know I use it every day. Before I cooked anything in it, I checked to make sure it was calibrated & would cook at the correct temperature. I cooked frozen french fries first - kept an eye on them - and they were perfectly cooked at the exact same time as the old Cuisinart (meaning package directions). Some reviewers complained that the convection part made the food cook faster and drier. I'm not having that problem. It broils a piece of fish perfectly.

Some Pros are: great handle grip that leaves door open a little or a a lot; dials are treated with some sort of clear gel which gives a nice exact setting when you turn dials: cooks all food in pan uniformly - no overcooked/undercooked spot. Also, I am NOT having the loud noisy problem like some other reviewers. It has an intermittent hum.

Some Cons: For me, pan is too shallow. Like I said above, it was the least shallow pan included with the toaster ovens I looked at but I'm still using my old one for broiled fish - don't want spattering inside too much.

If you are going to buy this toaster oven, take a good look at the box before you leave the store. I took a box with a picture of a silver toaster oven on it but when I got home it was a silver/red combo color. It's a beautiful red, not bright and I'm glad I didn't get the silver one!

Best Little Toaster/Convection Oven

|

Got tired of the old slice toaster. We owned a toaster oven way back when so we decided to give this one a try (because it said convection) and boy, were my family and I rewarded! We really love this little oven! All of the things it says it does (bake, broil, toast, pizza) it does very well! The food cooks so evenly in there and it's so quiet! Since we've had it, we've made onion rings, pizza, hash browns, steaks, Italian sausage and waffles, just to name a few things. We haven't made any cookies or cakes in it yet but I'm sure that won't be an issue. Simple to use but make sure you read then follow the instructions and make sure to turn the timer dial past 20 minutes (to about 25) then set your cooking time.

I bought this toaster oven for my daughter and she loves it. It's a great size for making tons of things and it's so easy to operate and cooks well and toasts perfectly.

Works great...and that's coming from a picky person.

|

My old Cuisinart toaster convection oven finally died (after MANY years) and couldn't replace it with the same one:( It was difficult to adjust to a one rack toaster but we're managing just fine. Our new Kenmore toasts wonderfully and when baking in convection mode everything browns perfectly. I have burned a couple things because it works much faster than our old oven (smaller). With discipline and a watchful eye I am pleased with its performance. I give 4 stars because it doesn't have two racks and I loved my old one sooooo much but I'm not cooking for as large of a family now and 1 rack is sufficient.

*One hr at a time keeps me on my toes but not a bad thing.
*I trust Sears because of their excellent customer service.
*It looks pretty on my counter.
*Saving on electricity because it toasts and cooks quickly.

Okay Oven

|

We just do not get the results we were expecting from this oven. Maybe we are not using it right. I burn a lot of things with this oven. Never had one before. Maybe with more use I will learn how to get the results I am after.

Toaster oven works great

|

I purchased this as a gift for my mom who's old toaster took most of the morning to get the toast toasted. This works great and the convection option speeds up cooking. The only think I don't like is that the "white" oven has a silver front to it and the top and sides are white.

Needed a white toaster oven

|

I needed a white toaster oven and it was very difficult to find one. I had a Black & Decker that didn't last long before the top elements stopped working so would only toast on one side. Due to lack of selection, I decided to try another convection toaster oven. so far it seems to be working very well. The only thing I noticed is that when you put things to toast in the front and back, the back items get done much sooner than the front. Other than that, it is working very well so far. Hopefully will last longer than the Black & Decker.

Mixed Feelings

|

This is the second Kenmore convection oven (same model) that I have owned (and not because I loved it so much I had to have another). The first one lasted a little over a year, no problems until one day it started smoking from the side panel. I called Sears and was able to exchange it for a new one. I've only had the new one for about a month, but when it's running it makes these rumbling noises every 30 seconds, loud enough to hear from the next room! The first one I had didn't do this, like I said, no problems at all on the first one until it started smoking. At this point, if the second one can last another 6 months I'll be happy, but ONLY because Sears was nice enough to offer me an even exchange. At $70...I would have at least expected two years out of it.

Kenmore RED 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven

|

For years we had a Kenmore Elite 6-slice Convection? Toaster Oven & pushed it to the limit every day until it fell apart. The newer Elite toaster oven seems to have a plastic covering over the controls & was hanging off of the oven hence the purchase of the 6-slice, NOT Elite, toaster Oven. Besides it was on sale & the $10.00 Birthday coupon forced me to replace the oven--especially since the door had to be propped closed. The lower rack, in my opinion, is to high & it's difficult to fit 2 racks into the oven at the same time. Personally, I do appreciate the red color, the bell works, the inside is clean, metal, & can be wiped down. The glass window is clear & the handle is just the right distance from the oven for a comfortable & safe opening & closing of the door.

Not worth it

|

We needed a small toaster oven for toast, bagels, the occasional chicken nugget or small reheat-grill . This oven worked size wise but forget using it to toast. The analog dial to set the timer is not consistent.
You have to watch everything you put in the oven to prevent burning or
undercooking. If you have it set on toast without the convection fan blowing it cooks unevenly- an edge of the toast-bagel is golden brown the rest is pale white. This oven is frustrating.
