This dryer had a strange rattle upon delivery. The matching washer was so bad regarding balance/spin issues, even after technician visit, we never had rattle looked at. It dried clothes OK.
Returned Samsung set for Kenmore - very happy.
Bought with matching washer (1 star due to balance/spin problems). Due to inability to fix problems with washer, the noisy rattle from this dryer was never addressed. Might have been a simple fix, but since the washer was exchanged for a Kenmore, this dryer had to go too. Dried clothes well when the Samsung washer could spin out the clothes properly.
I have had this dryer for a month now. I bought this as a washer/dryer pair from the Sears store. It doesn't perform any different from my previous dryer which I had for 12 years. I think sensors do tend to underdry the garments, and bedsheets do tend to be wrangled together making it hard to dry. My previous dryer had the same problems. I do enjoy hearing the music at the end. It comes with a shoe rack for drying shoes which is something new to me.
This replaced our 20+ year old dryer. Our old dryer would take at least 40 minutes plus to dry a load of laundry. This one dries most of our loads in 20 minutes or less.
This dryer has great features and works well. I've had it for about nine months now with no problems.
This gas dryer does what the controls say it will do. And it dries everything quietly. I bought a Samsumg washer three years ago, dependable and very pleased. After a month the dryer seems to be as well built.
On about 3/1/12 we bought this as part of a matching pair. Sears installed both and stacked the Dryer. They work well. My wife thinks well of them. For that I'm appreciative. (Both appliances play a melody at the end of the cycle. The melody can be a bit 'over the top'. But if that's the only problem I've got, I'd say that life is good. We'd just like a simple 'beep' but that is not an option.) We heard from the salesperson that one should leave the washer door open and make sure that the gasket is wiped dry following every wash. Otherwise it seems that some front loaders can develop an odor. We have followed that recommendation. So far, all is going well. It amazes me how little water is used in the washing process. It strikes me that the old washing machines (top load) gave the clothes a bath. These new front loaders give the clothes a shower. It's quite stunning to see the results. We liked it that the units can be stacked. We don't have lots of space and that helps to free-up a few square feet. (We moved the freezer into the spot where the dryer used to be.) The "stacking kit" was a little more than $100. It was worth it. Further, the washer is HEAVY. So, I had the Sears folks install both the washer and dryer. (I guess it was actually a sub-contractor who did the installation since Sears doesn't handle the gas connection.) These two items are quite quite. The washer has a very fast spin cycle. It must have a variable frequency drive to spin the motor. It starts slowly and ramps up to some mind-numbing speed. There's a soft whine as the speed increases. We've loaded the washer with all sorts of odd loads. It has never stumbled. (Our old washer would have shaken at its foundation and may have shut down until the clothes were re-positioned.) The noise is easily dampened by closing the laundry room door. Previously I'd mentioned the melody. There are three possible selections Off, Low or High. So, if you like the tune, turn it up. If you don't like the tune, well, you understand. I'll confess, I bought the extended warranty. Although it may not be 'required' it has the provision to have Sears come out on an annual basis and ensure that all-is-well. I know the charge to have anyone come out and just look at an appliance. Therefore, I thought that I'd take care of that possibility for the first few years by purchasing the warranty. We'll see how it works out. Over time I'd like to be able to provide updates to this note but I suspect that such will not be possible. We got the dryer at the Sears Outlet in Minneapolis. I had also done some homework. So when I went to purchase the washer at Sears I told them that the price was substantially lower at a national competitor and asked them if there was anything they could do. It shocked me that they not only matched the price but then lowered it another 50% of the difference. That helped seal the deal.
Terrific reliable product. Have used constantly for 6 months and no issues.
Disappointed in how this dryer operates. When drying a load of sheets, they ball up causing them not to dry. The fine print in the Owners Manual suggests one sheet or blanket at a time. If you research online, you will find this is a common problem. This dryer should be recalled and not sold by Sears or *****.
We purchased this dryer and the washer that matches it about four months ago. We had to get it converted to propane- involving purchasing a conversion kit. I have been greatly pleased with this unit. I love that you can adjust the cycle adding or shortening the length by adding or taking away minutes. My only complaint is that the sensor cycles seem to stop before the clothes are totally dry- they always seem to be still damp when it stops. This may be normal for all dryers- I am not sure. Overall, I am glad we made the purchase,
I have owned many washers and dryers and this is by far the best on the market. I wouldn't give it up for anything out there, even higher priced items. Cleans better than anything I've ever owned. Love the music at the end of cycle.
This machine has a brain of its own, I have had other machine's they don't even come close too this samsung.
Have only used for few weeks, and I am not sure why I didn't buy it sooner.
I like the features and the shape of this dryer. very convenient and excellent technology they use. so far no complaint
Only had the unit for 2 weeks and have done 20 loads including big comforters. Everything works great.
