The best thing I bought all year. Quiet, huge capacity, love the sanitizing mode and the rack for drying shoes or sweaters. So efficient I'm sure I am saving energy because it takes 1/4 of the time my old one did to dry thoroughly and my clothes smell fresh. If you are considering a dryer performance and price are both wonderful on this machine.
This is the most annoying dryer I have ever owned. Because the door opens top down, there is a latch on the top of door which fits into a protrusion on the top of the dryer opening. When you are loading clothes in, they constantly get caught on the protrusion.
There is an opening in the back of the dryer drum covered with a metal grill with round holes. I have had clothing hooks caught in the holes, the dryer keeps spinning, and the clothes are a twisted mess. I never had this problem with my old Maytag.
The worst thing is the "Auto Dry Cycle" feature. The sales people do not tell you it really doesn't work for medium to small loads. There are sensors recessed in the front panel below the drum and if wet/damp clothes are not constantly hitting these sensors, the dryer assumes the clothes are dry and stops. I have tried 5 large bath towels and a couple of hand towels that apparently are not a big enough load to hit the sensors. I can't believe that the sensors could not be relocated to a spot in the dryer that would allow the clothes to actually make contact with them without stuffing in a giant load of clothes.
The dryer is level and the vent had been recently cleaned, so I thought the sensors were not working and called in for a repair because when I put in medium sized loads, the "Wet/Dry" cycle lights did not go on showing the moisture status of the load and the dryer would shut off after 10 minutes.
I later found buried in the manual that you should "Use time dry for very small loads." They should amend this to read: Auto Dry Cycle only works for large loadsand put this in the AutoDry direction section. Again I never had this problem with the auto-dry feature of my old Maytag.
I resent having paid for a feature that is so poorly designed it does not work unless you pack the dryer. And I am annoyed that the sales people do not explain this to you when talking up this feature.
I have used this dryer for more than a year and it has been flawless. My daughter needed a dryer and I gave her my old sears dryer that seems like it will live forever. I love the controls on the new dryer.
very satisfied with this item.Wrinkle fee setting works great and drying time is very sufficient.
Doesn't use as much water and clothes come out extremely clean!
I have only had this dryer 2 years and it is already shot. The pulley belt makes a horrible noise. The normal way to fix a dryer is from the back. This one comes from the front and had everything in the way when you replace the bearings and belt. The repairman takes twice as long...costing twice as much money.
I usually prefer non digital washer and dryers. But I got such a good deal on this one that I gave it a shot.
Dries faster than my old one. The different temps and moisture sensor results in soft dry items. They don't feel stiff and "overcooked".
Love the dryer rack!
dries quickly. little wrinkles.
I purchased this dryer along with the matching he top load washer over a year ago, I was a little intimidated by the new way to wash clothes BUT after awhile got used to them and now......I LOVE THEM BOTH!!!
I purchased this dryer as a pair to the matching washer. We were given a 30 day replacement if not satisfied and we will be taking advantage of it. The washer left the clothes too wet (compared to our old washer) which in turn makes this dryer take much longer to dry the clothes and use much more energy. The machine itself is cheaply built with flimsy metal. The top buckles and rattles when anything is placed on it. The door has a protrusion for a latch that catches the clothing and it also rattles when opened and shut.
We will be exchanging this for a more solidly built machine. It may work well if the washer is more efficient spinning the water out of the clothing. But I do not like the cheapness of the metal/build.
I just picked up this dryer today. After owning my previous Kenmore for 14 years, I'm very disappointed with this new one. It makes annoying arcade type sounds, which terrify my dog. It's ugly and doesn't match the Kenmore 800 washer I purchased only a couple of years ago. The drum extends out the back, so that the dryer can't be positioned level with the washer in my laundry room. I also dislike all of the electronics and would much prefer simple knobs like my previous dryer had. If it wouldn't be such a pain to take it back, that's exactly what I'd do.
Love this dryer, owned for about 4 months, so far so good!

The dryer works extremely well - clothes come out wrinkle free. My largest complaint is that the end-of-cycle buzzer is not loud enough! You can barely hear it and I've turned it up as loud as it will go. I really like the many options available for drying temps and "load types".
