This is one great freezer.

We love this freezer. The noise level is average and hardly noticable. The features and the space are great and I couldn't find anything close for the $670. It looks great and we like the temperature display on the front to reassure you that all is well. We would recommend this freezer to any family that wants to buy bulk and store it all in one place. A great money saver in power, too. You can't go wrong unless you have a library quiet household and then you might notice the compressor cycling. The adjustable shelves make for easy storage of just about everything. She loves the ice cream storage shelf. Talk about easy to scoop, the temp. is perfect.Bottom line; We did some research and this was the best bang for the buck that we could find at the time. Enough said.

Kenmore Elite Upright Freeze is nothing but a piece junk

This freeze is a piece of junk. The first 11 months it worked great but once it hit 11 months 3 weeks it started to heat up. We called Sears for repair and there was someone out within three days but we still lost food. They replaced the condenser and some coils and said all was fixed.  Within one month it started to heat up once again. This time we waited for another three days and lost more food. This repair person indicated the last one did not solder the coils correctly and we lost Freon. It has now been two months and it started heating up again July 19th.  We called service that evening and Friday the 20th a repair person arrived an told us the entire freezer parts needed to be replace, at a cost to Sears of over thousand dollars. The parts were ordered the 20th but only a portion have arrived as of the 25th.  Last night we tossed out three large bags of food and Sears will not replace any of what we have lost.  We also learned Sears knew this freezer had issues but never had a recall. During this ordeal we were laughed at and hung-up on three times by the service department. I can say we will never purchase another Kenmore product or an appliance from Sears.

Nice features and a lot of room

This is a nice freezer with lots of room. However, it is much louder when running than our 24 year old freezer. That was somewhat suprising to me.

3 years-stopped working

Bought this freezer 3 years ago, and put it in our climate controlled laundry room and it runs non-stop and the temp does not decrease, it continues to go up. Had a repairman look at it, and he said it looks to be the sealing system and said it would be cheaper to buy a new one. Called the warranty department and the warranty has expired. This was my first Kenmore appliance-will never buy one again!

I read numerous online reviews before purchasing this freezer. I admit I had reservations about the noise complaints and compressor issues. I purchased this unit anyway, installed it an empty bedroom with lots of clearance; and have no complaints about the compressor noise when running. This freezer works great, and I am pleased with the number of times the compressor actually needs to kick-in.

This upright freezer is so much better than my previous chest type. The pull out baskets make it easier to stay organized and waste less because nothing gets lost on the bottom. The glass shelves are more "stable" than the wire kind, so things don't fall over....YAY! The door shelves/trays are easily adjusted. The special ice cream drawer is also a nice feature. We ordered it on Sunday evening and it came in on Wednesday. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Great freezer at a great value

This is a great freezer. It is easier to operate because it doesn't have a programming panel to set. Just plug it in and it and it's ready to use . It is quiet during operation and attractive in appearance.
