Another quality Kenmore product for my home

Kenmore never disappoints my family. Replacing my previous Kenmore dishwaher after 15 years and decieded to go with another Kenmore product. This dishwaher even quieter than expected and cleans and dries beautifully. The quality of the tub and heavy duty feel of the door is very nice. The interior room is just as spacious as previous washer which was a plus. The cycles do take a bit longer and when opening and closing the door you tend to accidently press a cycle button on the control panel but it is easily corrected. Sleak design is well worth adjusting to this.

Disappointed

I purchased this product 6 months ago from Sears.com and have been having issues every since. The drain pump was faulty and I have had two service requests in less than 6 months. This is not what you would expect for a dishwasher that costs more than $1,500. Very disappointed.

Very Disappointed with Kenmore Products

|

The name Sears or Kenmore no longer means quality product. We have purchased all new Kenmore Elite products for our recent kitchen remodel. Of the 5 products, 4 have had problems requiring repairs. Our dishwasher, the one being reviewed, has given us the most problems. The latest problem is a leak at the diverter motor shaft to sump seal. PLEASE review the internet with this before purchasing, you will find it has been a problem for awhile. This latest problem occurred one month after the warranty. Because I believed I had purchased a quality product, I did not purchase the extended warranty, which Sears pushes and now I know why. Other problems with this dishwasher, upper rack adjustment arm broke and control board was replaced. I?ve been trying to get help ordering the rights parts, however I?m on my 4th call with no answers. I'm at a loss....

Buyer beware...good for a year, then pump floods your kitchen.

|

We bought this item in March of 2014 and absolutely loved it, until I found water leaking through my subfloor into my basement last night. The pump went out and flooded our floor and subfloor after only 1 year and 2 months of ownership. I'm thoroughly dissapointed in the longeitivy of this. I know things aren't built like they used to be, but come on! The only reason I gave it two stars is that worked flawlessly, but only for a year. If it hadn't broked so soon, I would have given it 5 stars as it's been one of the best dishwashers we've had. I only wish the alarm that went off when the dishes were done was a little louder. I can't ever here it go off to know when to come unload them. If you only need a dishwasher for a year, I'd say go with this one but for $1500, I would expect more. I'll think twice before buying Kenmore or Kenmore Elite again regardless of the great reviews it had on Consumer Reports.

Leaked into basement after only 9 months

|

This dishwasher is beautifully designed, but that's it. It started to leak water through the bottom and into the basement after only 9 months. Will have it repaired under warranty, but don't have much faith in it now and afraid to run it without watching it for leaks from now on. It was very expensive and would expect so much more than this for the money. Will not purchase Kenmore again.

Love it, Love it, Love it

Was not sure about getting this dishwasher after the negative reviews, but I don't believe everything I read online. This dishwasher is fabulous! It installed very easy, cleans extremely well and is so quiet you cannot hear it run, at all! My wife and I can now start the dishwasher as the party still goes on and nobody will know. Worth the money.

Leaks and damages house! Stay away from this dishwasher

|

We have always bought appliance from Sears, and based on CR recommendation, we got this in March 2014.
It started leaking in July 2014! It took five service visits (spanning 8 weeks - two months!) to figure out they need to replace the unit.
Guess what, the new unit started leaking this week (Dec 2014) and damaged the basement!

PLEASE Stay away from this model, even if it is offered for FREE.

Wow!

|

This dishwasher was purchased to replace a 10 year old Bosch that was causing problems. The salesperson was great in helping us get what we wanted delivered and set up. The installers were super nice. The Kenmore, looks fantastic in our kitchen.....but its performance is even better. Its surprising how we had got used to the deficiencies of the Bosch....not good on cleaning pots, not good at drying anything other than crockery and noisy! The Kenmore cleans and dries everything and has many options to ensure you have the correct program for the job.....but importantly it does it all at a complete whisper!!! Really it is so quiet....like somebody else said...you wonder if it is working!!! Everything about it shouts quality.....except the rolling in and out of the baskets could be improved.

We have now owned the Kenmore a couple of months and are still happy with everything. At $1399 it was not cheap but the price was worth it for this quality dishwasher!!! Recommend it, we certainly do!

Cleans great - not very much room though

|

This dishwasher cleans very well and the clean out port is easy to use. You cannot put in a cookie sheet or any other large item without taking out the top rack, which is a huge pain. It's low to the ground, so I thought it would hold a lot more dishes than my other one, but it really doesn't hold much. You also have to be careful to not put a tall object on the bottom near the door or the dish detergent container won't open. That limits where you can put larger items (including plates). It would be good if you could see where it is within the wash cycle, but that's not possible. It is VERY quiet - sometimes I hear the little chime go over to tell me it's done and I've forgotten it was even washing! That's a huge plus.

Broke within 6 months

|

The top tray adjustment arm broke after 6 weeks, then it started leaking at 6 months, then the bottom spray broke off and melted shortly thereafter. This is my 2nd kenmore. They are a waste of money, both of them. I'm not sure how JDPowers rates these but I don't trust these ratings after a second purchase based on their reco.

Horrible product. Quiet, but other than that, it's a piece of ****. Can't put in anything large. Top rack doesn't work right.

Best Dishwasher I have ever had!

|

I purchased the Kenmore Elite 24" Built-in Stainless Steel Dishwasher. It has been a blessing. We had a salesman, who was friendly and helpful. He told us this model was the top of the line. He was right. Our dishes come out looking new. The dishwasher is so quiet, you do not know it is on. We also are thankful for Sear's certified installer, Don Heaton. He was professional, very knowledgeable about the product and did an excellent job installing the unit. He also gave us some tips about dishwashers that we did not know. I would recommend this product to my family and friends.

Very quiet

|

This dishwasher is VERY quiet. If the indicators were not on, I would not even know it is running. Initially, the first dishwasher they delivered the indicator lights for cycles running did not light up. The installer had me call Sears and tell them item was defeactive and they did bring another to replace it. I have since had no problems and I like the dishwasher very much. Very quiet and efficient. Love the adjustable upper rack.

Prone to circuit board failure - Over 1 month wait for parts.

|

A disappointed long-time customer. This model is prone to circuit board failures. My family of 7 will be without the use of this ?top-end? dishwasher for 6 weeks while we wait for the backordered part to arrive. I called Sears and asked for a replacement unit due to the fact that we will be without our dishwasher for close to 2 months and they refused. Don?t get rid of your old dishwasher if you decide to purchase one of these- Odds are you will need to hook it back up while you?re waiting for parts.

Best dishwasher ever

|

I just got this dishwasher and installed it myself. When I was finished I loaded it and turned it on. The lights turned on but it appeared nothing happened. To my surprise it was running and I couldn't even hear it. Unbelievably quiet.

so far so good

Like the look, the way you can load the dishes and how quiet it is. The kids have actually opened it to put a dish in not knowing it was running.

Love this dishwasher! So quiet I wasn't even sure it was on! This model has the easy glide wheels that the older model doesn't have. Directions do not say what the light indicators mean though... Blue means washing, red is drying and green is complete.

VERY NICE!!

|

Got this dish washer about a month ago. Read reviews and looked at other machines from high end to lower end. Have had several other brands, none as nice as this one. Like all other reviews it is very quiet. Does an excellent job of cleaning dishes. Tested it with dried on egg. Cleaned it off. No more washing before loading, everything goes in as is. Have not had to use power wash feature yet. Drying is very good too. I think this is due to heating element still in bottom of this machine, most others don't have this feature any more. This machine is built sturdier than most. Drawers slide easily loaded or empty. Set it up myself. Only one trip to big box hardware store for new hoses. I do not know why people like timers. I do not miss it.

Excellent dishwasher

|

We had this dishwasher installed two months ago, and thus far are very impressed. It is incredibly quiet. It has a light on the front that shows which stage the cycle is in...blue when washing, red when drying and green when done. We use it about five times a week and so far everything has come out spotless. We scrape the plates, but do not rinse them. It looks classy. We have not had it long enough to speak to reliability, but to date have had very good luck with Kenmore Elite appliances.

I am sure you will be happy with this purchase. It is an Energy Star rated appliance that will pay for itself over time. Your only problem will be hearing when the unit is on! It is one of the quietest dishwasher sold. Be sure to read the Owner's Manual for the differences between this model and the older models you may be use to.
